Chapter 7 - Gaseo's Death

"This crazy bastard! Is he out of his mind?!" Valon said.

"From the look of it, it seems like he is." Xavier replied.

The fight didn't last long; in less than a minute, Gaseo was already lying on the ground, bleeding.

"KUUUGHH!!!" Gaseo coughed out blood.

"Meh. I thought you would put up a good fight, but what's this? You didn't even last more than a minute and you're already on the ground." Valon said, stepping on Gaseo's face to pin Gaseo down.

"I hate to admit this, but I truly envy his regeneration power. Being able to regenerate so quickly, it's no wonder why he was able to survive until now." Xavier said.

Xavier wasn't the only one impressed by Gaseo's regeneration power; Valon and Amelia were also taken aback. If anything, they lowkey wished they could steal Gaseo's regeneration skill.

"But what's the point? He doesn't deal any damage at all, he's only good at surviving and that's it." Valon said.

"Hmm, I changed my mind about calling him a noob earlier. Actually, I have to give him credit for being strong in a defensive way. Unfortunately, no matter how tanky you are, if you can't kill your enemies, it's pointless." Xavier said.

Tanks and Healers are supporting classes; they are only strong and useful when they're in a team. However, in solo situations, they're extremely weak because they don't deal enough damage to efficiently kill their enemies, let alone killing monsters.

Approximately two minutes later…

At this time, seeing that Gaseo had fully recovered, Amelia covered her mouth in shock, unable to believe her eyes. "No way! Look at his wounds!"

"Huh? Oh, wow! We've only been talking for about two minutes and he's already at full HP." Xavier said, impressed.

"Interesting. I was going to end this PVP, but it looks like now I'm interested in testing something out." Valon said.

Immediately, Valon began tormenting Gaseo with his sword, dismembering Gaseo's body into multiple pieces.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!!" Gaseo screamed in agony.

"Yo! What are you doing?!" Xavier asked Valon.

Even though Xavier was a rather malevolent person, he still wasn't the type to use such extreme methods to torture someone for fun.

"Nothing. I just wanted to see how powerful his regeneration power is. Well, don't mind me, I'm just conducting a little experiment." Valon said.

Observing Valon's expression, Xavier and Amelia could tell Valon took pleasure in torturing people. Unfortunately, they didn't dare to ask Valon to stop. Witnessing what Valon had done to Gaseo had instilled fear in them. Furthermore, as the strongest member of the team, Valon held power over them, and because of that, there was nothing they could do about it.

Roughly fifteen minutes later…

No matter what Valon did to Gaseo, Gaseo would always recover and return to his normal state. The only thing Valon didn't attempt was destroying Gaseo's brain; perhaps he believed that no matter how powerful Gaseo's regenerative abilities were, once the brain was destroyed, it would be game over. Naturally, Valon didn't plan to kill Gaseo just yet, as he still wanted to continue and have fun.

"Woah! This is impressive! I've never seen something like this before." Valon said.

"Hey, are you done? I'm getting kinda bored." Xavier said.

"Yeah, can we put an end to this already? I'm itching to return to the lobby room and catch a break." Amelia proposed.

"This is unfortunate. I wish I had a skill that allows me to steal other players' skills. Oh well, whatever, let's get out of here." Valon mused.

Right away, in a split second, Gaseo's brain was sliced into seven pieces. This was one of Valon's class skills, allowing him to execute seven cuts with just one swing.

After Gaseo's brain was destroyed, he lost consciousness and entered a temporary state of death.

With this, everyone became convinced that Gaseo was undoubtedly dead.

A couple of seconds later…

"Hmm, what is going on??" Valon inquired.

"Weird, how come the exit portal is not here yet?" Xavier questioned

"We did complete the quest, right? If so, there should be a notification telling us we completed it." Amelia stated.

Confusion gripped everyone. Consequently, they began to suspect that perhaps Gaseo hadn't died and might still be alive.

Immediately, they went to check on Gaseo's body once more to ensure his condition. Upon inspecting Gaseo's body, they found nothing suspicious.

The truth was, Gaseo did regenerate a little, but it was too subtle to notice because only less than 20 seconds had passed. Normally, it would take a few minutes for Gaseo to fully recover, which was why they hadn't noticed anything yet.

"He's dead, right?" Xavier had doubts.

"Idiot! Can't you see he's not moving at all? It's so obvious he's gone from this world." Valon was slightly annoyed that Xavier doubted him and asked such a stupid question.

"Hey, let's check out the other two players and the Goblin Emperor. Who knows, they might still be alive." Amelia suggested.

"Sure… though it's highly unlikely." Xavier replied.

With that said, Valon went to check on the Goblin Emperor, Xavier went to check on Jangwoo, and Amelia went to check on Thomas.

Meanwhile, when no one was watching, this was the perfect time for Gaseo to regenerate without anyone noticing.

After inspecting Gaseo's teammates and the Goblin Emperor and finding nothing suspicious, confusion settled in once again.

With this, they gathered once again for a small discussion.

"This is getting really annoying. Just what the fuck is going on? Did we miss something or what?" Valon said.

"Well, maybe it's a bug or a glitch? You know, those things happen in video games every once in a while." Xavier suggested.

"Glitch? Bug?" Amelia questioned.

"Bug? Hmm, maybe. However, before we assume it's a bug, let's thoroughly search this entire battle arena first; perhaps there might be some clues somewhere." Valon suggested.

Listening to Valon's advice, they proceeded to explore the vast battle arena, hoping to uncover some clues. The arena was massive, easily comparable to the size of an English football stadium.

At this point, Valon's team looked rather stupid, as they had failed to realize that the culprit all along was Gaseo.
