Chapter 27 - Shining talents

Viru stared at the upcoming enemies as he sent the three of the first defense flying.

'Let me try something new.'

Viru closed his fist as he raised it to the height of his chest and casted

**cosmic field**

As Viru cast one of Cylia's spells, the monsters in front of him felt a huge pressure weighing on them. It felt as if the gravitational force increased drastically. Their moments were terribly hindered making them unable to sprint or react fast.

'The dragon's skills are pretty great indeed. I'm not even that strong but this skill still managed to impress me.'

Thought Viru as he marveled at the original skills of Cylia, the star-born. Viru was limited to the current level of the skill since his level was nowhere near that of Cylia's. Viru took a moment's break to imagine how strong he could become in the future. The skills, racial abilities, and strength of all his subordinates flowed within him making him the legit dungeon master.

Without letting go of this moment, Viru activated his fist again and delivered the knock-out blows. His main goal was to knock out his opponents instead of seriously injuring them beyond repair. That was also a reason why he didn't use any of Luro's dark blades. This was more than enough for Viru to deal with the current situation.

On the other end of the settlement, Luther, Karina, and Rex were making good progress as they were taking out warriors one by one. The twin brother heard this commotion inside the settlement and came out to take a look. In front of him stood Luther, supported by Rex and Karina. Almost all of the warriors inside were taken rarely of. Now, all that was left on their list was the twin brother who stood right in front of them.

The brother backed two steps, summoning his beasts to his side. A vicious beast that looked like an overgrown tiger jumped in front of him. Following the tiger was a silver-haired grown bear that towered about 2.5 meters in height. Both the beasts looked very formidable and their combat prowess was very obvious. The team had to be very careful while dealing with the brother and the beasts.

With the signal from the twin brother, the silver bear sprinted towards Luther in an instant. Given the bear's huge size, its agility was astonishing.

The giant bear's palms met with Luther's and their fingers intercrossed. In an instant, it turned into a wrestling position. Taking advantage of this situation, Karina already loaded her arrow and her lightning strike was ready to hit the bear.

'We can kill the bear right?'

Asked Karina, as a joke.

the twin brother instantly ordered the tiger to go after Karina. Karina jumped back in order to avoid the tiger's huge claw. As the tiger made its move, Rex swept under it and he slashed at the tiger's belly. The tiger retreated back at the right time in order to avoid a severe injury.

'That beast is actually smart.' Acknowledged Rex.

'And to answer your question: No Karina we can't kill it.' Master's orders added Rex.

Luther gathered his strength together, with a low-pitched loud scream

'Aargh'

he pushed the giant silver bear away and stepped back to group up with his team.

'So, What do you think? Who wants to defeat the twin brother?' Luther asked the two of them.

'Hah, I'll take care of them by myself. You just cover me when necessary Karina. And Luther, you take care of the remaining warriors so that I can handle it peacefully.' Said Rex with overwhelming confidence.

Rex wasn't just cocky to say this, ever since he got his magic swordsman class, his combat abilities have grown by leaps and bounds. He left on solo missions to capture several monsters for the first-level nature domain. His contribution has also been outstanding among the group of subordinates. Pyra picked a gem in the forest and it was Rex.

Rex stood in front of the tamer and his beasts. He held a basic iron sword that he picked up in the forest during his monster hunt. He held the sword in front of him balancing his stance. Then he activated his skill,

'Mana swords'.

Magic swords, one of Fire and one of Water floated in the air beside him. Two magic sword summons is his current limit. This took him a lot of practice to achieve. And of course thanks to Viru who was responsible for his magic swordsman class.

The tamer looked carefully as he took out his dagger and readied himself for the possibility of a close-range battle.

As the twin brother tamer signaled, the silver bear was the one to take it to Rex first followed by the tiger.

The bear tried to attack Rex using its sharp claw that could tear through any ordinary monster. Rex defended himself using his iron sword by placing it exactly where the bear aimed. The fire mana sword now saw the opportunity to strike and went for it. But the tiger reacted quickly to attack Rex, which made the fire sword aim at the tiger and slash at it. The tiger jumped back as it saw the slash coming. Instantly it felt a sudden stabbing pain from its back as the water mana sword pierced it from a blind spot.

The tiger immediately retreated taking severe injury. As the tiger retreated, Rex took control of the red sword and slashed at the bear's arm. The bear took heavy damage as blood started to ooze out of it.

'See, I told you that I can take care of it by myself' said Rex proudly.

'Enough gloating for now!' Said Luther as he walked in front of Rex and faced the twin brother.

'Just surrender. We have been trying our best to not kill anyone. Our main purpose is to recruit the entire settlement and move it into our master's dungeon. I can guarantee you that no further harm will be done to the habitants of this settlement if you surrender now. You just saw our battle prowess, do you think you can defeat us? I want you to quit playing here and come outside to stop that stubborn sister of yours.'

Said Luther.

This was the original plan that they had, in order to capture the settlement with minimum damage. The only obstacle was the stubborn twin sister. She does not care about dying in a battle. Her stubbornness proved to be a huge hindrance to Viru's plan of not killing his future subordinates. So they planned to defeat the brother who was more reasonable, first and then make him convince her to quit.

The twin brother looked around to assess the current situation. Luther was indeed right, he didn't have the chance of winning against the enemy. Half his soldiers were knocked down and the other half were gravely injured.

'Fine, I surrender. I just hope that you didn't lie to me about not harming my people in the settlement.'

The twin brother being the reasonable one, agreed to give up and cooperate.
