"Nani!!?"
Viru woke up confused as he ran his fingers through his pristine black hair. He lay alone in the middle of a dense woodland that was lush with forest vegetation and rare flora that he has never seen before. He thought he was dreaming, But it was all too real to be a dream. He could feel each heavy breath that he took and the gloominess of the forest started to creep the hell out of him.
He looked around and found no one. It was just him, sitting on the muddy ground of a scary jungle.
He tried to remember what had happened to him and how he managed to end up in a place like this that he had never been before.
He couldn't remember a single thing from his past. His mind was a total blur. He seemed to remember some segments of it but he couldn't connect them as one whole piece.
"What just happened? And seriously, where the hell am I?"
Viru asked himself, his silver eyes wandering around for an answer to this peculiar situation. The more he looked, the more scared he got due to the creepy noises that came from the jungle around him. The darkness was so real that it felt tangible and it weighed heavily on him.
Suddenly a voice emerged out of nothingness,
***Welcome to Revara***
Only he could hear the voice. He couldn't find where this voice actually originated. It sounded majestic and commanding like a God.
Unsure of what to do. He tried to think of an explanation. After a range of thoughts, he finally realized that he was not on earth anymore. As the voice said, it's some place called Revara. Maybe that is what this planet was called. With a little bit of clearance in his mind, he readied himself to talk to the voice.
"Sure, not the warm welcome anyone would actually expect"
he replied, trying to keep the anxiety from his voice.
The voice continued, unconcerned with his discomfort,
'It is time for you to get your special abilities that will help you survive the magical world of Revara.'
Said the voice.
'Wow, not even some time to rest huh?'
Retorted Viru as it took him some time to realize the situation he was currently in. As the voice mentioned, Viru was going to get some skills that would help him survive. The word 'magical' amused him very much.
The thought of getting some mysterious powers that he had only read about in novels, fascinated him.
He planned to listen to the voice further.
'As a beginner, you will be provided with a class system (i.e. Water mage, Necromancer, assassin, chef, etc.) of your choice. But remember, the specifics are mine to determine.'
'Summarize your desires in three wishes, and a system reflecting them shall be yours. Yet, keep your expectations to a minimum for an Overpowered system.'
After hearing this, Viru couldn't contain his excitement anymore. He jumped in happiness as he was going to get magical powers through a system exactly like the video games and light novels that he had read before.
According to the voice, he has to ask for three wishes.
Finally, a class system that has all three of them will belong to him.
For example: if he asked for magic, water, and a sword. He would probably get a class system of a Water Swordsman who can use water magic and sword techniques to fight enemies.
He had to think properly and use all three statements of his properly. This is going to be his foundational power in the world of Revara.
Judging by the dangerous forest around him, he could get attacked at any time and anywhere.
He could just ask for more power but that would not be so smart. Just having raw powers is not enough to live a socially comfortable life. For a stable life, he would need companions that he could depend on. They should be loyal and trustworthy.
As he started to think about the wishes he wanted to make, a bunch of mosquitoes started to annoy him. They bit him and flew near his ears to make him uncomfortable.
He was also standing on muddy ground and had dirt all over his body because of it. He got furious and wanted to shout at the voice for making him appear at such an awful place.
"Would it have hurt you to provide me with a proper place to sit and gather my thoughts instead of this despicable place?"
he screamed aloud, his tone covered with unease.
Oops**
'***The first statement has been acknowledged***
***A comfortable and secure place for thought gathering is required.***
***Two more wishes to go***
the voice replied, matter-of-factly.
"Nooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I did not mean that as the first wish!"
Viru cried out. He did not think that the voice would record his stupid complaint as a wish. He was deeply disappointed and wanted his first wish.
"Voice-sama, I beg you, disregard my last statement, I take it back PLEASE!"
Viru pleaded, crying with desperation.
***No retraction possible***
the voice said, as unyielding as the laws of nature.
Viru's heart sank and he face-slammed himself, but he was quick to gather his spirits. The general nature of his first statement might be a blessing in disguise.
Maybe it was a good thing to have a secure place in the future. It had nothing to do with this power but it was a necessary need.
Viru tried to console himself that it wasn't a really bad wish.
"I just hope I don't become an interior home decorator or something of that sort"
viru's thought pondered.
With a deep breath, he thought of his next words with great care.
He went back to his previous thoughts of having companions that are loyal and trustworthy. Since he's going to have a secure place, some subordinates to maintain it wouldn't be so bad.
Having subordinates could prove incredibly useful. They could serve as guardians against whatever horrors lurked in this jungle's heart, and they could perform various tasks necessary for survival and perhaps eventual conquest.
"I would like the ability to create and control subordinates at will," Viru declared with a measure of conviction he didn't feel.
'***The ability to create subordinates is recorded***
***One last wish remains***
the voice announced, its tone as neutral as before.
Viru's mind spun with the implications of his second wish—the ability to create and control subordinates. With no memory of his past capabilities, this power was his lifeline. In a world where the encroaching darkness seemed alive with unseen predators, having subordinates could mean the difference between life and death.
These subordinates would be his soldiers, his protectors. They would scout ahead into the inky blackness of the jungle, their eyes becoming his, alert to any danger that slithered or stalked through the undergrowth. They would stand guard as he slept, a living barrier between him and the myriad threats of Revara. He could have his own fleet of army with top-ranked commanders.
But beyond the simple utility of safety, these beings could fulfill other vital roles. They would be his workforce, capable of tasks he could not hope to accomplish alone in this wild place. They could build shelter, gather food, craft tools, and weapons—each subordinate a vital cog in the machinery of survival.
And there was more to this world than mere survival—there was the potential for dominion. If he played his cards right, his subordinates could become his eyes and ears, gathering intelligence about the vast and mysterious Revara. They could engage with other entities, perhaps other newcomers like him or the indigenous powers of this world, bartering, negotiating, or forging alliances.
Now that the two wishes are done, he needs something that could guide him through his future endeavors. Having a guide would solve a lot of problems and help him avoid dangers.
Viru knew his next request could shape his destiny in Revara. An AI companion could provide him with information, advice, and the companionship his human psyche craved in this desolate place. Such an assistant could help him understand the world he was in and the challenges he was to face.
"I would like an all-knowing AI that assists in all sorts of tasks," he said, this time with a clear vision of what he wanted.
'***Your wish for an AI companion has been acknowledged***,' the voice confirmed.
With his choices made, Viru felt the gears of fate grinding into motion. He was still in a jungle that seemed born of his deepest fears, but it had become a different place in his mind.
