"Stop insulting my future wife, Akiko-san," Kiyoshi shouted from inside the ward.
Akiko rolled with her eyes and clicked with her tongue.
"Well, now that I have made sure that you are still alive, Kiyoshi-san, I will take my leave. Hopefully, I will see you in one piece the next time."
Akiko then stepped out of the ward, not without giving Midori another condescending glare.
"Onii-chan, I can roll myself into the ward," Midori said to Minato. "Can I be alone with him for a while?"
Minato pulled his lips to a thin line, but he then nodded in assent.
"Fine. Onii-chan will wait outside. If I hear any suspicious sound from inside, I am coming in."
Midori shot him a weak smile in return. "Nothing is going to happen. I just want to see him."
Midori slowly rolled herself into the ward, and Minato closed the door behind her.
