Damion's POV
As I make my way into the main house, the door was slightly open, as soon as I push open, a familiar face greets me, It's Vital, a smile still playing on his lips. Anger surges within me.
"Where is Rahua?" I demand, my voice laced with fury, I ran towards him grabbing him by his clothes. "What have you done to her?"
He chuckles darkly, his eyes glinting with satisfaction. "Oh, Prince Damion, don't you see? This was all part of my plan. I knew that taking Princess Amina would distract you, and give me the opportunity to get to Rahua." I didn´t care about anything, I only wanted to know where Rahua was.
Enraged and ready to confront him and demand answer, I was ready to fight him but before I could punch him, his guards step in, restraining me. I struggle against their grip, my mind racing with thoughts of Rahua's safety. I didn't see anyone, when we came into the Manor, they were all here inside protecting him, only meaning he was waiting for me to arrive.
He sights, "It took you long enough to arrive here. I thought this would be the most logical place for you to look for me. You even came in alone, I guess you still the same clueless Prince. "
"Let me go! Release me!" I shout, each word filled with anger and desperation.
Vital smirks, his voice dripping with malice. "It's useless, Damion. Rahua is long gone. And soon, she will be out of your reach forever."
With a wave of his hand, he orders his man to restrain me, leaving me seething with anger. What does he mean she is long gone? No is impossible, she can´t be dead, the ring would have warned me. Cirius would not have let that happen.
The thought of losing her, of not being able to protect her, is unbearable. I refuse to believe that she is gone. "What do you mean she is gone?" I ask demanding.
He tilts his head to the side as if enjoying the situation. "What do you think cousin?" he squats in front of me lifting my head higher.
"She was... interesting to deal with, I would have enjoyed for you to be with her longer, but I am on tight schedule." He says grinning, the person before me didn't look like the cousin I used to know, his normal gentle smile was now replaced with a malicious smile, or a serious frown.
"If something happened or happens to her, I will kill you with my bare hands." I spat.
Vital chuckles darkly, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Oh, cousin, you should worry about yourself. And as for what happened to her, you'll never know the truth. You're just a pawn in my game, and I'll make sure you never find out what really happened to your beloved."
I struggle against the guards' grip, my heart pounding in my chest. I can't let Vital get away with this. I have to find Rahua, no matter what it takes.
"Oh by the way, she thinks you rejected her, and you hated her." His eyes were glowing in amusement.
My blood boils as Vital's words sink in. Rahua thinks I rejected her? Hated her? That's not true! I have to clear this misunderstanding and find her before it's too late. I greet my teeth.
"Lord Duke, it's ready. " Cirius makes his appearance, as agreed I pretend I didn't know he was here.
I look over at Cirius, feigning surprise at his presence. "Cirius? What are you doing here?" I ask, my voice filled with confusion.
I could see Vital's face once again light up as if he managed to put one more dagger on my back. " Oh yes Damion, let me introduce you my most helpful supporter. I know you thought he had your back, but you should thank me, I was the one who brought him into your life. "
I look at Cirius, he had his down, that part he conveniently left out in our last conversation. But it didn't matter, shortly my plan was going to be set into motion.
I keep my composure, refusing to let Vital's words and manipulations affect me. I glance over at Cirius, my expression unreadable. "Is this true, Cirius? Have you been working with him all along?" I ask calmly.
Cirius looks up at me, his expression filled with regret. "Damion, I...I'm sorry," he says, his voice filled with guilt. "I never intended for things to turn out this way. "
Vital's grin falters slightly, but he quickly regains his composure. "You're wasting your time, and mine as well. Any last words?" He asks smirking.
I narrow my eyes at him, determination burning within me. "We'll see about that," I say, my voice filled with conviction. "I will find Rahua, and I will bring her back. You can count on it."
Vital's smirk fades, replaced by a hint of uncertainty. But before I can react, he raises a hand and signals to his guards. "Kill him" he orders, his voice cold and calculating. "I don't want him interfering any further."
The guards tighten their grip on me, ready to execute me.
As the guards move to execute me, I shout at the tops of my lungs. "Hey cousin, thank you for setting the stage for me to become a stronger ruler in the eyes of my people."
He laughs "Too bad you won't be ruling anyone." He says with confidence.
"I don't think you have to worry about that. Right Ceaser!" At that moment Ceaser and the knights breaking in through all the directions surrounding Vital and his men.
Although he his sorrounded he doesn't look surprised. My knights free me, as I gather my things.
"You look very calm for someone who just got surrounded with no means of escape."
"I am your, cousin, the Duke of Arrentela, you won't do anything to me, because you will want to know where is she." He smiles.
"Don't you worry about that, I have Cirius to help me, with that." I say smirking. His disbelief face was worth it.
"Execute them all." I order.
"Wai...!" His head rolled to my feet.
I ran upstairs to the bedrooms, I break every close door calling for her. No reply.
One door was open, I push it until it was wide open, the room was a mess like someone was rampaging inside.
It was definitely her. Cirius appeared from behind me. "You said you would protect her. What hell happened in here?" I confronted him.
"Calm down, your Highness, she made this herself, she was very feisty. " He said with nervous laugh. "She actually ran away, I saw her leave."
"She actually saved herself? She didn't needed me to save her." I laugh at my failed attempt to save her.
"Not exactly, she left but ... Doesn't mean she is saved, otherwise would the ring not glow." He says, I then remember what had brought me here.
"Is true I was only lead here because of the ring. Which mean she is close by."
The ring suddenly starts to glow again, we look at eachother before following the it.
As I come down stairs the knights are cleaning and taking the bodies out.
Ceaser stops me. " What is happening Damion? He asks although his face was serious his voice was filled with worry.
"She close, she is in dangerous. " I didn't elaborate much more than that, I left the house trying to follow the ring.
And then, in the distance, I spot a familiar figure. It's Rahua, my heart skips a beat, hope surging through me once again.
I approach her, my steps rushing over.
She looked hurt, tired, her eyes didn't have her normal glow "Rahua? Is that really you?"
As I held her in my arms she collapsed, placing her hands in my face.
She says with a weak voice "What a cruel prank life has set up for me. Damion, I thought I'd never see you again." Her eyes welling up with tears.
I embrace her tightly, I didn't want to let her go, there was so much I wanted to tell her.
"I am here Rahua, I am here."
