Chapter 41 - Chapter 37 - Charming Prince

Damion's POV

As Dipper delivered his message, a sense of apprehension settled in the pit of my stomach. It seemed that my father's summoned presence would not be one of congratulations or acknowledgement, but rather a confrontation or reprimand.

I followed Dipper through the familiar hallways of the Palace, his pace was fast and determined, as if he was rushing to deliver me to the slaughter. As we approached my father's chambers, the weight of the impending encounter settled heavily upon me.

Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I pushed open the doors and entered the opulent chamber. My father, seated behind his ornate desk, looked up as I approached. His expression was one of sternness, his gaze piercing and calculating.

"Dipper, you may leave us," my father commanded, his sharp tone leaving no room for hesitation.

A nerve wracking silence sitted us in silence.

"I have arranged a meeting for you, a Princess.." as he kept explaining, I was having a hard time comprehending, he was trying to set me with someone for his political gain?

My heart sank as I listened to my father's words. The realization struck me with a wave of anger and frustration. It seemed that my father's intentions were purely driven by his political agenda, disregarding my own wishes and desires.

"I understand, Father," I replied, my voice tinged with disappointment. "But I cannot simply enter into a union for political convenience. I will not allow myself to be used as a pawn in your game."

My father's face hardened, his cold gaze piercing through me. "You dare defy me, boy?" he hissed, the anger in his voice barely restrained. "You will do as I say. Your duty is to serve our kingdom, and if this marriage will secure its future, then you will comply."

A surge of defiance filled me, and I straightened my posture, meeting his gaze with unwavering determination. "I will not sacrifice my happiness for the sake of politics," I declared, my voice firm. " I don't need a marriage to ensure my political strength."

My father's anger flared, his face reddening with each passing moment. "You will regret this decision," he spat, his voice laced with bitterness. "You think you can defy me and survive the consequences? You will learn the hard way, Damion."

In that moment, I realized that standing up to my father, was something I always had feared, now that I was actually assertive of my own decisions, and of what I stood for, I was no longer afraid. I was actually relieved that I was finally standing my ground.

"I am prepared to face the consequences, Father," I responded, my voice resolute. "I will forge my own path, guided by my own principles. Perhaps it is time for a change in the kingdom, where leaders are chosen for more than just their political alliances."

With those final words, I turned and left my father's chambers, leaving behind the weight of his expectations and control. As I strode through the hallways of the Palace, I couldn't help but to smile I ended up using some of Rahua's words, was her influence on me that strong? I yearn to be the very ruler she described with passion.

Rahua's POV

The shop was busy approaching the day of the masquerade ball, new designs unique for the ball, was being tested and prepared by mother and Kira.

People would come and go, everyone commenting on the how marvelous the Prince was, and handsome. The Lady's were charmed by the man in the horse.

I wanted to scoff, you could barely see is face.

The whole village was talking about the knights who returned, and the great speech the Prince gave. I kept listening to the news, I couldn't believe the Prince was actually making his noise in this world.

Apparently he promised to a change the way people of the kingdom are regarded, stating that their efforts will no longer be overlooked or undervalued. He also made commitment to prioritize their well-being by offering care and support.

He intends to form a council, to speak for the people.

Everyone is admiring the Prince, even though my support is still unwavering towards Ceaser, I got admit that Prince seems to be someone who actually is trying to take care of his people. Well he just needs not make the famine happen and I will have no problem with him.

As I continued to work in the shop, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of hope stirring within me. Maybe, just maybe, this Prince could bring about the change that our kingdom so desperately needed. His promises sounded promising, and if he followed through on them, it could mean a better future for all of us. But still, my loyalty to Ceaser remained strong.

"Welcome to our lovely shop." I say after two ladies come inside. "Do you plan to sit inside or outside." They both looked excited to be in the shop.

"Unfortunately the view outside is not that appealing we will take a sit inside." They say a little nervous.

" It's appeal only appears when you see through the eyes of imagination," I reply with a smile. "Inside, you will find a cozy atmosphere and the enchantment of our designs."

The ladies take a seat at a small table near the window, their eyes scanning the room as if taking in every detail. I continue to work on serving other customers, occasionally glancing over at them to see their reactions.

"Have the ladies chosen what kind of cupcake you would like to try." I put on a smile.

"Which cupcake do you recommend?" one of the ladies asks, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"We have a wide range of delectable flavors to choose from," I say, trying to seem confident in my recommendations. "For a classic and timeless taste, I would suggest our vanilla bean flavor. It's creamy and rich, a favorite among many. If you're feeling adventurous, our salted caramel is a perfect combination of sweet and salty. And for those who love a fruity twist, our raspberry rose flavor is a delightful choice."

The ladies exchange glances, contemplating their options. After a moment of discussion, they both decide to try the salted caramel flavor.

"Excellent choice," I say, "I'll bring over your order as soon as possible."

I quickly prepare the cupcakes, and the tea and bring them over to the table, placing them in front of the ladies. They eagerly dig their spoons into the cupcakes, tasting the creamy cake."

Their faces immediately light up with delight as the smooth and rich flavors dance on their taste buds. They exchange another glance, this time filled with joy and satisfaction.

"This is absolutely divine," one of the ladies exclaims, a smile playing on her lips. "I can't wait for masquerade ball, I heard that the king ordered large sum, I wanted to try before hand. It will surely be a hit!"

I beam with pride at their enthusiastic response. As I turn to serve other clients, I hear them gossiping.

"I heard the Prince himself asked for the order of the cupcakes to be placed." Said one of the ladies.

"Ohh I heard that too." They giggle while eating their treat. " He is so handsome, I could only steal a glimpse of him..."

I ignored their gossip, it couldn't be possible, for the order to be placed by the Prince since, it was placed before the Prince returned and since he hadn't heard of the shop, it would be impossible for him to make such request. Those rumours were just nonsense.

As they finish their cupcakes, the ladies express their gratitude and excitement, promising to return to the shop for more delicious treats. I bid them farewell and resume my duties, a sense of fulfillment filling me.
