Chapter 45 - Chapter 40 - Major Event: Masquerade Ball

Rahua's POV

Today is the day of the Major Event to the story, "The Masquerade Ball event", I have been excitedly waiting for it.

I can't believe I will be present at the event tonight. I will see in first hand things developing.

With all that has happened in kingdom in last few days or even weeks, everyone feels like they need a break.

I have warned my family about the main villain, they reluctantly agreed to avoid him.

Me on other hand, I will adopt the "none of my business attitude" towards the villain. His storyline should in any case interfere with mine, maybe except at Ball, that's why I will be extra careful.

I will be at servants side,of the event anyways, it will be perfect for me to sneak around and see things happen.

But there's some set of rule I made for myself, not make any interference with Ceaser- Bianca-soon-to-be-love-story , I will not interfere or try to create any opportunities for them to meet, I will let it happen.

I am just side side character so, no involvement with the story characters, I just want to have a reader point view kind of experience.

I am so excited I could barely sleep.

The cupcakes will be prepared during the day and be delivered accordingly.

At night the event will start, and I am here for it. For the effects of organization we, me, Kira and Saya have arrived earlier at Palace, it is our first time here.

As I step into the magnificent Palace, I am in awe of its grandeur. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling sparkle, casting a warm glow over the opulent surroundings. We make our way to the servants' quarters, ready to assist with any tasks assigned to us.

The atmosphere is busy and bustling as the servants prepare for the Masquerade Ball. I join in, helping to arrange the tables, set up the decorations, and prepare the cupcakes that will be served later in the evening. There is a buzz of excitement and anticipation in the air, and I can't help but feel a surge of adrenaline as the time for the event draws near.

As the final touches are made, I take a moment to admire my disguise in the mirror. Every servant has a mask, for effect of mystery, not very smart idea considering the latest events with rebel army, but like I said, "non of my business attitude".

The elegant mask I wear adds an air of mystery to my appearance, ensuring that I blend seamlessly into the background.

It's the perfect vantage point to observe the unfolding events without drawing too much attention to myself. Somehow I feel like I am being watched ever since I sat my foot in this place. I breath deep, I see noone besides the busy servants around me who are working restless to make everything magical for the guests.

*

As the guests begin to arrive, Kira slips into the role of a servant, seamlessly moving through the crowd, attending to their needs. Saya has been in the kitchen all day, she says she prefers to be away from the major event, she is just happy to be able to set foot inside the Palace.

I stay on the side, trying to blend with the background. From the corner of my eye, I catch glimpses of familiar faces - Caesar and Bianca among them. I resist the urge to approach them or engage in their story, reminding myself of my decision to be a mere observer.

The evening progresses gracefully, the sound of laughter and music filling the ballroom. I discreetly make my way to the garden, always keeping an eye out for any interesting developments. It's a delicate balance, maintaining my nonchalant attitude while also remaining alert to the subtle nuances of the story unfolding around me.

As I navigate in the background of the room, I catch snippets of conversations, hints of conflicts and hidden intentions. It's like piecing together a puzzle, connecting the dots to understand the underlying dynamics of the characters' lives. The excitement and intrigue heighten, and I find myself entranced by the atmosphere of the event. Everything is just some overwhelmingly beautiful, I feel like I am in a dream.

I step out into the cool evening air, finally finding a moment to catch my breath, I was so overstimulated inside, that it felt like I was going to suffocate.

I finally sit taking in the beauty of the Palace garden. The moon casts a soft glow over themeticulously manicured hedges and blooming flowers, creating a serene atmosphere.

I find a secluded spot by a fountain, its gentle cascading water creating a soothing melody. I take a deep breath, relishing in the peace and tranquility that surrounds me. The chaos and excitement of the Masquerade Ball feel distant, allowing me a brief respite from the whirlwind of emotions.

Finally, I could see the moment I have been waiting for, the spotlight turns towards the main characters. I watch from a distance as Caesar and Bianca find themselves in each other's presence. The chemistry between them is palpable, their connection growing stronger with each passing moment. I resist the urge to intervene, allowing their story to unfold naturally, just as I promised myself.

As soon as they meet, they.. they..... part, I... I don't understand what happened? I come closer to see better what went wrong. Ceaser was going somewhere else further into the garten.

I try to follow at distance, squated through the bushes.

I see Lady Vilahna next to a fountain, she had a very discreet mask, she did ended up following my advice. As I look at the situation, I wonder how many fountains does this place has, I was already enjoying the view of one fountain.

I am already rumbling away from the most important thing is happening right in front of me, I need to focus.

She looks sad, and lonely. Ceaser seems to take notice, and approaches her. I can't hear what he says, but she seemed startled, that she almost falls inside the fountain. He immediately grabs her, creating a very romantic atmosphere between them.

What is happening? When did the story diverge so much? I resist the urge to intervene on their situation. My role as an observer necessitates to maintain a respectful distance, pushing aside the desire to know the full extent of their connection, or to meddle in any way.

I remain hidden behind the bushes, my curiosity piqued by the unexpected encounter between Caesar and Lady Vilahna. They seem to be engrossed in a heartfelt conversation, their emotions radiating through their body language and a lot of eye contact. I strain my ears to catch snippets of their conversation, trying to decipher the nature of their connection.

Lady Vilahna's sadness and loneliness are palpable, and Caesar's presence seems to bring comfort to her troubled soul. The way he reached out to save her from falling into the fountain creates an intimate and romantic moment between them. It's as if they are the stars of their own story now, momentarily oblivious to the world around them.

I can't help but wonder about the complexities of this complete shift in the storyline.

As my mind and my thoughts are immersed in the story unfolding before me, I hear a whisper blown in my hear. "So this is where you have been hiding?? You haven't lost your habit of creep on other people's business?" My whole body froze in fear.
