Rahua's POV
I was not sure how anything would be done. My plan was not good at all and it was the only thing I could think at moment.
Lady Vilahna was going to get the money and pretend that she had papers forged, hopefully he would not verify it thoroughly.
This is a very bad plan. We just needed to get the documents in hand and destroy it before it is too late.
We knew that the following day would be filled with danger and uncertainty, but we were determined to overcome this challenge and rid Lady Vilahna of the mysterious man's control.
My night was filled with restless anticipation, I advised Lady Vilahna, to gather the necessary funds and I would use my father connections to arrange the false-false documents. He just needs to believe that we made what he asked.
The next evening, as the sun began to set, Lady Vilahna and I returned to the house where we had encountered the mysterious man. Clutching the money and travel documents tightly, we entered the room with cautious confidence. The man stood waiting, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Ah, Lady Vilahna, I see you've come prepared," he said, his voice dripping with false charm.
Lady Vilahna held out the money and documents, her voice steady. "Here is what you asked for. Now, fulfill your end of the bargain and relinquish your hold over me."
The man took the items, inspecting them with a sense of satisfaction. Like I hoped he didn't expect thoroughly "Very well. You have held up your end of the deal, and so shall I."
With a flourish, the man handed Lady Vilahna a small box. "Inside is evidence of her dealings. It is now in your hands, Lady Vilahna, to use as you see fit." This was much easier than I thought. Something doesn't feel right.
Lady Vilahna's hands trembled as she took the box, her eyes filled with a mix of relief and determination. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Before we could leave some strangers enter the house. "So this is the goods you were talking about?"
I looked at Lady Vilahna, panic spreading through my veins. How did these strangers know about the contents of the box? Had we been set up?
The mysterious man's smirk grew wider as he glanced at the newcomers. "Yes, indeed. I have thrown you in a bonus, you can take both of them."
Lady Vilahna's grip on the small box tightened, her eyes darting between the strangers and the man. "Who are they? What is going on?"
The strangers approached us slowly, their gazes intense and unreadable. One of them, a tall man with a scar across his cheek, spoke in a low, menacing voice. "This one will render us a lot of profit! The other, she looks okay but not as refined as this one."
My heart pounded fast in my chest as the realization hit me. We were being sold as slaves. That's why he didn't really paid attention to the papers. But to sell a Lady makes no sense is like trying to put the whole army after them.
"You really are dumb enough to kidnap the Count daughter to sell? Do you think you can get away with it? " Before I could even take a breath in one of the man with dirty teeth slapped me hard, I could taste blood.
Lady Vilahna's voice wavered as she tried to maintain her composure. "What do you want with us? She is right, if you take me, you will be doing the stupidest thing of your life, it would be better if you just ask my father for the money. Or you will have the entire army of knights after you."
The scarred man's laughter sent chills down my spine. "Not if they think you ran away. Do you know how much a countess is worth? " Human trading is the most disgusting thing, however I am more scared that something that was never discussed in the novel is happening, I am really scared of the unknown. I don't know what to do.
They tried to hold Lady Vilahna, I looked over at her, her eyes were filled with determination instead of fear.
Maybe she doesn't understand the concept of human trafficking, " I will not let the likes of take me without a fight, I will not be sold of like as cattle. " Apparently she does, she is such a badass.
As the strangers closed in around us, I could feel the weight of the situation pressing down. Our very bad plan had failed, and now we were trapped in a dangerous game controlled by forces we couldn't fully comprehend. But I refused to give up either. I've come too far to let these strangers tear us apart. With every ounce of the strength I had, I vowed to fight back.
Lady Vilahna and I stood side by side, our eyes locked on the strangers who were closing in on us. The scarred man sneered as he stepped forward, his hand outstretched to grab Lady Vilahna's arm. But she was quicker than he anticipated. With a swift movement, she dodged his grasp and kicked him in the groin.
The other strangers were caught off guard by her sudden attack, giving us the opportunity to make our escape. We sprinted towards the door, but it was locked from the outside. Panic set in as we realized we were trapped.
But I refused to give up hope. I grabbed anything within my grasp, I was not strong but this candle holder was all I had. It was a risky move, to attack them, but it was our only chance. Without hesitation, I strike the closest to me he backed away unharmed grabbing my arms. Holding me up he punch me on my stomach, I felt like I was going to throw up, I felt dizzy and everything went slowly dark.
"Miss Rahua... Miss Rahua..wake up!" A whisper woke me up as I felt like I was on a caroussel.
" I am so dizzy." As I felt something hard on my back I looked around to access the situation."where are we?" I ask sitting up, my whole body hurt, I felt like a truck had ran over me, oh the irony.
"In a boat... I suppose. I am sorry I guess your prediction was again correctly, and I dragged you in with me." Lady Vilahna said with sorrowful tone, although she had fierce look to her.
"Wow my lady is such a badass!" I say admiring her.
"I beg your pardon. I have a bad ass?" She seemed offended. Oh shoot, I forget sometimes, that I shouldn't use modern slang.
"No, no my Lady, that's not what I mean." I say while there's some commotion outside and it seems to be getting louder.
"What do you mean then? I don't understand, what are you trying to say?" She says while pounting.
"Is nothing bad my Lady." I say but I am not really sure how can I explain what badass means, is not like I can search for it in my phone. "Is something rather good, it means that the Lady is strong, brave, and determined, especially in difficult situations," I explain.
Lady Vilahna looks at me with a mix of confusion and pride. "Ah, I see. Thank you for clarifying, Miss Rahua. I appreciate your kind words," she says with a small smile.
As the noise outside grows louder, Lady Vilahna's expression turns serious. "We need to be careful, Rahua. I have a feeling that our situation is about to get even more dangerous," she warns.
I nod in agreement, ready to face whatever comes our way, I was feeling a lot of pain, they probably beat me while I was unconscious. Together, we brace ourselves for the unknown challenges that lie ahead.
As we still tighted with our hands behind our backs the doors from above us open and light comes inside.
"Big sister, are you there?" I look up and I see Saya coming down.
"Oh no Saya, did they got as well? " I get worried, she is such a sweet girl she may have been caught trying to be helpful, or maybe they tricked her.
"We came to save you Big sister. Are you okay? You are bleeding." She says worried while untying both of us. I was surprised, I didn't know what to say.
"I am fine. Who is We?" I ask. As Saya unties Lady Vilahna she explains that she, Mr. Cirius, Lord Ceaser and Damion, came to our rescue.
"Damion is here, why? How? I mean how is any of this possible?" I am very confused, how did any of this happened? I couldn't wrap my head around it.
"I think all those questions can be asked later, we should first get out of here Miss Rahua." Lady Vilahana says steading herself, while holding my hand to leave.
As we made our way out to the main deck, we see Lord Ceaser and Damion had completely dominated the scene.
Before we approach them, I see the man that had kidnapped us completely beat up. As I look around I see the box with Lady Vilahna's secrets thrown around on deck. I hurriedly go to pick it up, at that moment the man that the Lady Vilahna had made dealings with, saw me and ran against me, trying to get the box.
"Here is the evidence that, the Ladies..." As he tried to grab the box he pushes me out of the boat, I find myself falling out of the boat, with a box in my hand.
Lord Ceaser smacks the man unconscious. Before I hit the water, I close my eyes to embrace the impact, I feel myself falling longer than I should, when I open my eyes and look down I am falling from the sky into Damion's arms.
I gasp in shock as Damion catches me, his strong arms wrapping securely around me. The sudden change in scenery is disorienting, my mind struggling to comprehend what just happened. How did I go from falling into the ocean to now falling into Damion's arms in the sky?
"Don't worry, I've got you," Damion reassures me, his voice filled with concern and relief. My heart races as I cling to him, feeling the rush of wind against my face and the exhilarating sensation of being airborne. It's both terrifying and awe-inspiring all at once.
"Damion, how is this even possible?" I finally manage to ask, my voice filled with both confusion and wonder. Damion smiles gently, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint.
"I have my ways," he responds mysteriously, his voice laced with a hint of amusement. "But right now, we need to focus on getting you to safety." His words pull me back to reality, reminding me of the danger we were in just moments ago.
