We took mother to the doctor, we all walked so happy, we were finally as family taking care of her, we could finally do something to help her with her pain.
Mother never complained but you could see on her face, the pain she was carrying.
We arrived we had already talked to the doctor beforehand, and he knew the case very well, we gave the money right away, so he started the examination.
His face was so serious, so stern, as he went through all the phases of the examination.
Me and the father were the only ones allowed inside, while Kira, Saya and the twins waited outside.
"Hmm I am afraid I don't have good news to share." He said in a serious tone.
As I feared we were to late.
"The damages done to her internal organs are too great, I can't do anything to help, I am sorry."
Mother expression seem to be of acceptance, the father face of grievance.
I .. I didn't know what to think, what was going to happen to this family now that the final prognosis was very bad.
All our hope was getting swollowed so easily.
" I can only recommend looking for a healer, but they have long been ostracized, not being welcomed that most of them retreated to the mage tower, made it hard to have access to their help. And the ones that live in hiding are not easy to find.
Maybe traveling to other kingdoms faraway. Unfortunately the time..."
The father's face turned even grimmer.
What the doctor meant even if we went to find a healer there was a probability that Mother would not make it.
"So that's how it is." Mother smiled and thanked the doctor while holding fathers hand to leave.
My mind was completely blank, I had no idea, no plan, nothing...
As I walked outside mother was already telling the news to everyone, consoling Kira and Saya. The twins were probably trying to make sense of the everything that was happening.
Zack was hugging mother, while Zoe had a confused look, while looking at her hand, her big eyes slowly widened as she came to me.
"Big sister, look at my hands, what about the Lady that healed my hands? Couldn't she help mommy?"
A suddenly I remembered what had happened earlier today how could I forget, Lady Morgana she could probably help, we didn't know if she could but she was our last hope.
"Thank you little mousy, thank you so much." I held her tight in my harms, "we will go there now. " I said holding mom hands. " Let's not give up hope just yet okay?"
And so, with a glimmer of hope in our hearts, we left to find Lady Morgana, in hope she could help with magic and ability to cure.
With each step we took, the burden of sadness and desperation weighed heavily upon us, but our determination to save our beloved mother pushed us forward.
We didn't know if Lady Morgana could really help, but we were willing to try anything at this point for the chance to give our mother a fighting chance at life.
Mother was already weak and tired of walking, with the father carrying her on his back, we could see how much he was fighting to keep her by his side.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we arrived at the doorstep of Lady Morgana's house. The way there never felt so long before.
With a deep breath, we approached the entrance, my heart was pounding with anticipation.
As always the doors were unlocked, as we pushed our way through, father stayed at entrance with mother and the twins, while me and the girls went to look for Lady Morgana.
First we went to the library she wasn't there, then we searched in the kitchen and later upstairs she wasn't around.
After looking through the whole house we couldn't find her, it was like life was playing a sick joke on us.
It felt that, now we had all the possibilities in our hands to cure mother and everything was slipping through our fingers. It felt like we were trying to hold the wind with our hands.
I hear a sudden noise coming from the library, I run over, it was a portal, that had just appeared out of nowhere, and a tall man, with purple hair big red eyes, thin elegant figure and handsome face, came out of the portal.
Who was he? He saw me as he came out of the portal.
My sisters arrived right after, seeing him as well, their appearance was what made him greet us.
"Rahua what are you doing here?" He said as if he knew me, my sister looked back at me.
"Who are you? Where is lady Morgana?"
I could see in his face that he was hiding something.
"I guess there's no longer use for me to hide it anymore, I am sorry," he said while transforming into lady Morgana.
I couldn't help but take a step back. What was happening?
"I am sorry, I have tricked you, " he transformed back to the handsome man. "My name is Cirius I am a Mage..."
"Please help our mother!! " I hurriedly said before let him finish we needed a Mage, he was a mage any other explanation could be done later.
"Please Lord Cirius, can you please heal our mother, we will pay whatever is needed, please help us." I kneeled on the floor, my sister joined me.
He looked uncomfortable with the situation, but he still was willing to help.
"Show your mother to me."
Father brought the mother to a room that the he lead us to. He examined her, and he told us he would do anything in his power and capacity, but it would not be an easy task. Since his healing abilities were not the best.
We waited outside, the father was by mother side, while Lord Cirius was giving his best to heal her.
We could see him from outside of the room, healing her, we could the see the light, and energy flowing through mother's weakened body.
Zack held tight to Saya's neck while I carried Zoe, both breathing very heavily in anticipation.
Our hearts were pounding drums, beating loud and from anticipation.
Minutes turned into hours, Zack and Zoe, refused to sleep even though their little eyes, were already red, as they couldn't stop rubbing it.
Lord Cirius stepped back, with sweat filled face, with joy and relief. Our mother's pale complexion had transformed into one of vitality and health.
He looked at father, with a gentle smile. "She will need to rest and eat well, but she will be fine."
The tears that had been very well locked were now flooding our faces as we embraced each other crying our eyes out. Our mother had been given a second chance at life, thanks to the unyielding determination of our family and the healing abilities from Lord Cirius.
"Thank you so much Lord Cirius." Saya said.
"Please call me, Cirius, I am not a Lord of anything. And to be honest the healer that has been healing her has made this much easier. You should thank that healer."
We looked confused. As far as we knew, mother had never been helped by anyone with healing abilities.
"Lord Cirius, I think you are mistaken, mother has never visited any healer before. This is the first time." Saya said in a low voice.
"I am pretty sure, I am not." He moved his fingers over mother's body, making some gestures, the energy flow between them was strong. He looked at the father that was holding her hand in praying position.
"You are the healer, aren't you?" he said to the Father. Our surprise faces as Father confirmed.
"I..." The father stopped when mother hand reached his face. He turned to look at her, she had already awakened. Her eyes bright full of life.
"I knew something was happening, everytime you left my side my body felt weak and tired the pain was unbearable, whenever you were close to me, or every night that we went to sleep I could feel better. Is that why you never left to jobs that would take you away from home?"
"It was my fault in the first place that you got in this situation, if I had protected you better, you would never had to suffer so much. "
"I only had the physical pain, you had to live with a heavy heart this whole time, it must have been painful as well."
"No, because of you it was bearable." He said kissing her hand.
We left room leaving mother and father to talk while the twins had finally fallen asleep. They laid in another bed in the room.
As I left the room I finally understood the Father and some of his choices.
He never went far away from home and every opportunity he would be home to heal mother, whenever she was too weak.
I feel bad for those moments that I had bad thoughts about him. He was trying to keep mother alive, and doing everything he could to keep his family alive.
"She is resting with the twins." Father said closing the door of the room behind him.
I don't know what came over me as I rushed to hug him, as I could see for the first time the bangs under his eyes, how tired he looked.
I think at that moment everyone felt guilty for every unspoken harsh thoughts we had towards father. All the 4 of embraced eachother.
