Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen : Are You Crazy?

"I met you for a reason."

- unknown

Amelia's POV

"So, what are you going to do now?" Camellia asked grabbing my attention.

I thought for a moment before answering, "I don't know. I need some time to decide."

Camelia and Jane nod their head in understanding. After I had told them about Liam being the father of the baby, they both were excited to know about the details. Yeah, those kinds of details.

Jane practically forced me to blurt out everything. Well, I haven't said everything, I just told them about yesterday's and today's incident. I skipped the part of that day when I had slept with Liam.

I didn't lie though. It's just I don't remember much about that day except that I kissed Liam Cartwright and the following day I found myself with him on a bed that was too naked.

Even I didn't have an idea who he was when I slept with him. I found out later about his identity when he walked into our office.

Liam Cartwright is the second son of Lorraine and Luke Cartwright who is the owner of Dallas Fashion House.

I knew their younger son was going to join the office but I never knew who he was. It was quite shocking for me that the guy with whom I slept was none other than my boss.

"Take your time, it's a big decision," Camellia said with a small smile.

"And we are here to support you in your decision," Jane said pulling me in a hug. I smiled and hugged her back.

"Thank you, guys! I don't know what I would have done alone," I said with teary eyes.

I was always an emotional mess but ever since I got pregnant, it became worse. Now, I have no control over my emotions.

"Aww, don't cry!" Jane cooed in a baby voice, I smiled heartily.

"Huh! You guys forget me," Camellia pouted, looking at us. Jane and I looked at each other and pulled her to have a group hug.

Well, I'm glad to have friends like them.

I was sitting on the bed and looking at the abortion paper. It was a such long day that I could barely even have time to realize how it went. After my last confrontation with Liam, I didn't think that he would come to talk to me.

But he did, which was surprising. Even when said that he didn't want me to abort the baby, it made me more speechless.

I thought he would agree with me about abortion but no, he wanted this baby. He needs this baby. I still can't forget the conversation that I had with him in the morning.

[Flashback]

"Okay, but what do you want me to do?" I asked calmly.

"Be my surrogate."

"Wait -- what?" I asked confused.

"I mean, I want you to be my child's surrogate mother. In that way, you don't have to keep the child also after delivery. I will take all the responsibilities of the child." He explained.

"Are you crazy? Do you realize that you're asking me to be a surrogate mother of my child?" I frowned at him.

"Ms. Dawson, I'm not asking you to be a surrogate mother. I'm just making you understand the concept. See, I want the child but you don't want it. So, you will carry my child for those months and I will take all the responsibilities for you and my child. After delivery, you are free to go. You don't have to take care of the child. And I will even pay you for that," Liam said leaning on the table, "So, what's your decision?"

I rolled my eyes at him in annoyance, "Do you think I'm greedy? Is that why you're offering my money? See, I don't know what you think about me. But let me tell you, I'm not a gold digger. I earn enough for myself. I would have simply agreed but --" My nose flared due to anger, "I know you're rich but I'm not interested in your money a bit. You better understand that."

"I'm sorry, I didn't say all this to make you angry or I thought you were a gold digger. I just said casually because you're carrying my child so your needs are also my responsibilities until my child is born. I agree with that the way I said it was wrong. I sincerely apologize for that." Liam squirmed under my intense gaze as he spoke.

This was my first time seeing him like this. The Liam Cartwright I knew was always confident, he never gets scared or tense even if the meeting was fixed at the last minute. But today for the first he was scared and also tensed which was surprising.

"I need time to think," I said shrugging my shoulder and ignoring his apologies.

"Okay, take your time." He muttered slowly and gave me a small smile.

I ignored him and concentrated on my food. Thankfully there were no more conversations and I could eat without any interruption or coughing or embarrassing myself.
