Chapter 14 - Chapter Fourteen : In Half An Hour

"Real love doesn't meet you at your best. It meets you in your mess."

- J. S Park

Amelia's POV

Picking my phone, I scrolled down the call log and stopped at a familiar unknown number. The number of Liam Cartwright.

Well, I didn't have his number until today morning. Now, all I have to do was message him. I wanted to call him, but it would be awkward. That's why messaging was the best option I have.

I quickly typed the message and hit the sent button. As soon as the sent tick appeared, I locked the phone and went to bed.

Keeping my phone on the nightstand, I lay down on the bed covering myself with my fluffy blanket. As soon as my head touched the pillow, sleep took over me.

"Well, Ms. Dawson, I'm glad that you finished the work on time. I didn't think you'll able to do that." Mrs. Pallis said in a strictly professional voice.

There was no smile on her face or appreciation in her voice, it was just a simple plain statement.

Well Liah, something is better than nothing.

I just nod my head with a small smile, "I'm glad I didn't disappoint you." I said in a meek voice. She sighed and shrugged her shoulder.

"Now go back to work." She ordered. I nodded and quickly went out of her room.

Oh my gosh!

I let out a sigh of relief as soon as I come out room. I quickly went to my desk to finish my work.

I thought today Mrs. Pallis would kill me for sure. After all, I forgot about the file after my fight with Liam.

The file which caused all havoc in my life, for that file I went to meet with Liam and had an awesome chat with him.

Well, note the sarcasm.

Even I was about to lose my job for that file. But thankfully it didn't happen, because the file was submitted to the HR department in time.

I don't know how it happened, because the last I remembered I left it at Liam's house. Most probably, he had submitted it. I don't know why he did that. But I'm glad he did. If he hadn't done that, then I would be fired by now.

Well, on that note I need to thank Liam.

I let out a sigh and sat on my desk. I looked pile of files on the desk and groaned in frustration.

This is going to be a long day.

Two days later,

It was already seven-thirty when I finished my work. I stretched out my body to relax. My muscles and limbs were sore from sitting here all day.

Although I had walked a little between the breaks and lunch. But it was hell-tiring for me to work by sitting in one place for so long. I usually get backache due to it. But nowadays it's even more painful because of my pregnancy. It's not good for a mother or baby to sit like this for hours.

Ah!

I shut down the computer after saving the files. I rearrange the piles of files that were scatted on my desk. I quickly cleaned my desk and kept important files in my drawer and locked it. After making sure that I didn't forget anything to do, I got up from my desk.

I looked at my little wrinkled dress, I quickly straighten it. Wearing my coat and took my purse and walked towards the elevator.

I had decided to meet Liam after office hours. Our office gets closed by eight, so we decided to meet at eight-thirty at Rose View Hotel.

Although Liam suggested meeting at lunchtime. But I politely refused it. Usually, I don't refuse to have lunch outside of the office. But I had to because for two reasons.

I don't want to tire myself by going out and coming back just for a mere lunch even if it was quite tempting. And secondly, I'm too lazy to do it.

As I walked out of the office, a gist of wind touched my body making me shiver. I warped the coat around me tighter. I took out the phone from my purse and checked the time.

7:47 pm.

I don't have much time, it will take half an hour to reach there. So I quickly hailed a cab and hopped into it.

Today I'm going to make a big decision in my life, I don't know if it's right or wrong. But all I knew is in half an hour my life is going to change forever, whether it was for good or bad only time can tell.
