As the crowd engaged in idle chatter, time passed slowly, and Ye Han gathered many useful pieces of information. Suddenly, the air turned sharply colder as several burly men pushed their way into the tavern. They coldly surveyed the room and declared, "Everyone out, we're taking over this place."
A defiant patron retorted, "Who do you think you are to order us around? This isn't your home."
One of the burly men shot a cold look at the speaker and, with a speed nearly invisible to the naked eye, swiftly cleaved him in half with a large knife, blood spurting everywhere. The tavern instantly fell silent. As the burly man struck, Ye Han instinctively turned Xiaoya's head away, sparing her from the bloody scene.
"What's wrong, Brother Ye Han?" Xiaoya whispered, audible only to them.
"Just don't look," Ye Han replied coldly, his eyes fixed on the burly men. "Aren't you done yet?" inquired a handsome young man with blue hair, walking in after them. The body of the slain patron had already been discreetly removed by the staff, a sign of frequent similar incidents.
"We'll be done shortly, young master," replied the burly man respectfully.
"Hurry up, they disgust me," said the blue-haired young man disdainfully, closing his eyes as if to avoid dirtying them by looking at the patrons.
"Aren't you leaving?" the burly man said coldly, his large knife exuding a fierce aura as he struck the air, shattering all the tables and chairs within a meter radius. The remaining patrons, shocked and appalled, stared at the burly man and the blue-haired youth.
Ye Han dropped a few gold coins and walked out with Xiaoya. He wasn't scared—the burly man was a mid-level ninth-rank swordsman—but he didn't want to reveal himself in a crowded place.
The burly man paid little attention to Ye Han, but Xiaoya's refined beauty caught his eye, prompting a sly smile.
As Ye Han and Xiaoya were about to pass by the burly man, a blade, exuding fierce energy, suddenly blocked their path.
"You can leave; she stays," the man commanded in a tone that sounded more like an order.
"That's impossible," Ye Han flatly refused.
"You don't have a say, kid," the man sneered, his blade glowing blue as a cold aura filled the tavern.
"What's taking so long?" the impatient blue-haired man asked.
"Look at this, young master," the man gestured towards Xiaoya, who quickly hid behind Ye Han. However, Ye Han's slender figure could barely conceal her.
"What did you find?" the blue-haired man opened his eyes reluctantly, turning to look in the direction the man pointed. Upon seeing Xiaoya, his previously sleepy eyes brightened, and a smile spread across his handsome face.
"She's beautiful, truly beautiful," he remarked, pushing aside the man's arm and stepping forward for a closer look at Xiaoya, seemingly oblivious to Ye Han, whom he considered insignificant due to his apparent lower power level.
"Miss, you—"
"Let's go, Brother Blood," Xiaoya interrupted, urging Ye Han to leave again.
"Okay," Ye Han agreed, attempting to leave. However, a man blocked their path, declaring, "The young master hasn't allowed you to leave. You cannot go." His threatening tone implied an attack if Ye Han took another step forward.
"A good dog doesn't block the way," Ye Han retorted coldly, never raising his head to look at the man.
The blue-haired man then ordered, "Kill the man, keep the woman."
The men prepared to attack, but in an instant, everyone saw a blur. Ye Han had suddenly captured the blue-haired man, stunning everyone, including his would-be attackers.
"Let go of our young master!" one of the men shouted.
"Let go and then let you kill me?" Ye Han scoffed, the blue-haired man struggling to breathe in his grip.
"We'll let you go if you release him," they offered deceitfully, signaling each other.
Suddenly, a fierce blade aura approached from behind. Without thinking, Ye Han pulled Xiaoya and the hostage towards the incoming blade, narrowly evading another attack from the front. He then released the blue-haired man, throwing him into the path of the blade behind them. The front blade passed harmlessly as Ye Han quickly pulled Xiaoya away, leaving two black afterimages in the eyes of the onlookers.
"Ah!" The blue-haired man screamed in pain as the blades, unable to be recalled in time by the stunned attackers, struck him, inflicting deep, bone-exposing wounds.
The attackers, seeing their young master injured, hesitated, their hands trembling with shock. Seizing the moment, Ye Han prepared to retaliate.
In a surreal scene
, the three burly men stood frozen in terror, while Ye Han used their young master as a weapon against them. Some bystanders even rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
Ye Han swung the blue-haired man at the three men, who dared not attack back. After a few quick moves, Ye Han calmly took control of the situation, leaving the three men as immobile as the fourth.
"Close your eyes, Xiaoya," Ye Han instructed, and she immediately complied.
The blue-haired man, feeling humiliated and helpless against Ye Han's overwhelming strength, swore revenge.
"Just wait, I'll get back at you for this humiliation," he managed to say.
"Wait until you can leave alive," Ye Han responded, tightening his grip.
There was a cracking sound, and the blue-haired man's disbelief was evident even in death. Ye Han released him, and the man slumped to the ground.
After throwing a few more gold coins, Ye Han led Xiaoya, still with her eyes closed, out of the tavern. The patrons remained in a state of shock even after they left.
A gust of wind blew through the slightly ajar tavern door, causing the four frozen men to shudder and then explode, their bodies shattering into pieces.
The explosion shocked everyone back to reality. Some, unable to handle the stress, vomited. The mood for eating and drinking lost, everyone left the tavern quickly, their hearts trembling.
"What did you do to them, Brother Blood?" Xiaoya asked as they walked, heading to a place in Miya City to buy a house.
"Nothing much, just taught them a small lesson," Ye Han replied, wanting to avoid further discussion and focusing on house hunting instead.
Xiaoya, excited about choosing a house and the prospect of not having to return to confinement, quickly forgot her previous question.
As Ye Han and Xiaoya walked into the housing area, everyone's eyes turned to them. Among the crowd were the same brother and sister who had been in the Camilla auction's VIP room number 13 the day before, their gaze on Ye Han noticeably different from the others.
