Chapter 26 - The Poisonous Miasma Clouds

Ye Han was truly enraged, a burning anger directed towards the Patrickly family. He now understood why his father had acted as he did on that day. He recalled the spot where his father had struck him during their duel, a calculated blow to the abdomen that had seemed inconsequential to onlookers under the glow of fighting auras, but that subtle difference had a completely different effect.

It was all a play, a deception to fool the Patrickly family and to save his brothers. However, their plan had been disrupted by Ye Han's mother and further complicated by Ye Han's subsequent actions, leading to the present situation.

After Ye Han's escape, the Patrickly family was forced to release the two brothers they had captured. However, the humiliation Ye Han had brought upon them was entirely inflicted upon his brothers.

The Patrickly family, a major power in Kelter City, was easy to find. After disappearing from the Helian residence, Ye Han quickly located the Patrickly household. A powerful eighth-grade aura emanated from within.

Beneath his black robe, Ye Han's eyes gleamed with murderous intent. Although enraged, he did not lose his reason. He knew that entering the Patrickly family's territory would immediately expose him, especially with the formidable eighth-grade and four ninth-grade warriors guarding it. The strength gap between the Helian and Patrickly families was stark.

But Ye Han was not worried; instead, he smiled slightly at the Patrickly household. Killing didn't necessarily have to be done in person, did it? With that, his figure vanished once more.

After Ye Han's disappearance, Helian Jing Lei informed Helian Yun of Ye Han's visit. Both guessed what Ye Han was planning to do, but they could only fret in their room. Any move by the Helian family would immediately draw the attention of other powers in Kelter City. They wanted to help Ye Han, but they didn't dare to attract more trouble.

The two paced anxiously all night, but Kelter City remained calm, without the chaos they had anticipated. The sun rose, and Ye Han was now sitting cross-legged in the Transverse Mountain Range, five miles away, cultivating. His frequent use of escape techniques had drained his energy significantly. A pale mist exuded from his body as he absorbed the energy from the air, not rejecting any of it.

"Phew," Ye Han opened his eyes after several hours, his energy fully restored and even slightly enhanced.

He stood up, his body crackling like popping beans. "Five Poisons, it's indeed difficult to find in this world," Ye Han mused to himself.

Although furious, Ye Han had not lost his senses. After discovering the Patrickly family's overt strength the previous day, he thought of another method: quick, safe, and effective—a deadly trap array infused with poison.

The Poisonous Miasma Clouds

Recalling the memories of the Celestial King, the Poisonous Miasma Clouds were concocted from lethal miasma gathered from deep forests and the venom of five venomous insects, combined with poisonous Gu insects. Once afflicted, a person would become powerless, their skin would fester, and Gu insects would burrow into their flesh, consuming them alive. During this torturous process, the victims could neither move nor speak, enduring excruciating pain until death—a cruel punishment by any measure.

Ye Han had already obtained two of the three required components for the trap: the toxic miasma and the Gu insects.

As for the toxic miasma, while this world had no such thing, the zombie's corpse poison was even more formidable than miasma, turning people or animals into zombies. However, if left uncontrolled and combined with moisture, it would become a deadly poison gas.

The Gu insects were even easier to procure. There was a kind of beast called Poison Bee, a level-one magical beast that, if turned into zombie beasts, would have an unexpected effect.

The five poisons were harder to find. Even after spending much time in the Transverse Mountain Range, Ye Han hadn't found many toxic beasts.

"Just because I haven't found it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist in Kelter City," Ye Han realized, slapping his forehead.

With this issue resolved, Ye Han set out to find the Poison Bees. To Ye Han, a level-one magical beast was trivial. In an hour, he had controlled a thousand Poison Bees with corpse poison.

The transformed Poison Bees were far more potent, becoming miniature killing machines.

Ye Han then quickly returned to Kelter City, scouring various shops for the venom of the five most poisonous magical beasts. It took three hours to gather everything, indicating the rarity of these venoms.

During the day, it was easy to be discovered, so after finishing his preparations, Ye Han rented a room in an inn to cultivate and familiarize himself with the setup of the Poisonous Miasma

Clouds, followed by another trapping array, the Five Elements Confusion Array. These were simple for someone with the memories of a Celestial King.

As night fell, Kelter City was engulfed in a tense atmosphere, not for any other reason but because Ye Han had returned.

The Chu family's fury spread throughout Kelter City. Their most talented heir had been completely crippled by Ye Han, every bone shattered, even the dantian destroyed. The Chu family's guards searched the city all day to no avail. Other powers also mobilized, unsettling Kelter City. Yet Ye Han continued to cultivate leisurely.

The most dangerous place is often the safest, and in Ye Han's inn, four different powers had representatives staying, none of whom suspected that the person they sought was right under their noses.

In the quiet of the deep night, Ye Han finished his cultivation. With his energy replenished and the streets nearly deserted, he left the inn and reappeared outside the Patrickly family's residence.

Observing the brightly lit Patrickly household bustling with activity, Ye Han guessed correctly that they had guests, likely summoned after the previous night's events and the day's fruitless actions by the various powers to discuss their next steps.

"It's perfect; the more I can eliminate, the better," Ye Han whispered to himself. He began setting up the first array, the Original Fire Array, to trigger the free-floating fire elements in the air. However, his goal was not to attack with this array but to use the fire it generated to boil the water in the Patrickly family's pond.

The second array was the Five Elements Confusion Array, designed to prevent the escape of powerful beings. The last and main array was the Poisonous Miasma Clouds. Lacking energy-containing jade stones in this land, Ye Han reluctantly used a magic core from his ring as a substitute. For the other two arrays, he used ordinary sixth-grade magic cores, but for the Five Elements Confusion Array, he resolutely used a sacred-grade magic core.

Whether he could eliminate everyone inside depended on this entrapment array. After preparing everything, Ye Han double-checked the three arrays to ensure nothing was amiss.

The retaliation began.

He first activated the Five Elements Confusion Array, instantly enveloping the entire Patrickly family in an invisible energy barrier. Then, he started the Original Fire Array, rapidly gathering the fire elements from the air. Ye Han slowly emerged from the night and dashed towards the Patrickly family's gate.

"Boom"

The two zhang wide gate shattered under Ye Han's formidable power. The explosive sound shattered the silent night, but the noise did not travel beyond the Five Elements Confusion Array.

"People of the Patrickly family, come out and meet your end," Ye Han bellowed. Instantly, several eighth and ninth-grade auras rose sharply and rushed towards Ye Han.
