Chapter 29 - Level Up

Ye Han flew out of the array, standing in the air, feeling the intense spiritual waves, his smile growing ever wider. Without hesitation, he spread his wings, and with his hands circled in front of him, a powerful suction force emanated from his body.

If someone with immense spiritual power had witnessed this, they would have been shocked. The strong death energy, resentment, and negative spiritual vibrations in the air were crazily pouring into Ye Han, being absorbed by him.

On this continent, some practice dark magic or necromancy, drawing only on dark energy, while necromancers can also absorb death energy. However, no one has ever been known to absorb resentment.

This is where zombies differ; both resentment and death energy are treasures in their eyes. Death energy makes a zombie's corpse poison even more domineering, while resentment and negative spiritual vibrations are the best nourishment for a zombie's soul power.

As more death energy and resentment were absorbed, the bloodthirsty gleam in Ye Han's eyes intensified. Rings of gray ripples emanated from his body. Soon, he had absorbed all the death energy and resentment from the air and returned to the array to continue absorbing.

In total, Ye Han absorbed the death energy and resentment of nearly five hundred people, filling him with a murderous intent. His gray eyes even began to show a hint of bloodthirsty red.

After recalling the controlled Oswald to stay within the array, Ye Han disappeared from the formation. Half a quarter of an hour later, he appeared in the Transverse Mountain Range five miles away. After surveying the area, he vanished once again.

Another half a quarter of an hour passed, and Ye Han appeared at the site where he had slain the black dragon and immediately sat down to cultivate. Having absorbed so much death energy and resentment at once, he needed to refine it promptly. Otherwise, a backlash could occur, flooding into his soul and turning him into an unconscious killing machine.

Bursts of gray light intermixed with streaks of red emanated from Ye Han's body, creating strong shockwaves that destroyed the surrounding trees. He was now facing a serious problem.

The uncontrollable vast death energy and resentment within him were continuously colliding inside his body, and the negative spiritual vibrations were also assaulting his soul.

His blood vessels and meridians kept breaking, leaking blood outside his body. The pain of the soul being struck caused Ye Han to convulse continuously, his complexion growing paler. In his agony, a spark of enlightenment came to him.

The Fanzhi Decision

The word "Fanzhi" in the Fanzhi Decision, combined with the fact that it's a zombie cultivation technique, surely could resolve this issue. Without hesitation, he circulated the Fanzhi Decision. His wings wrapped around him instantly, and the purple fire on them was absorbed into his body, rushing through his veins under the guidance of the technique.

"Sizzle," the sound of the Fanzhi burning echoed within. His corpse pill also began to rotate rapidly. The death energy and resentment refined by the corpse pill spread throughout his body, merging with his meridians and bones. Most of it, however, was absorbed by the corpse pill.

Ye Han directed a portion of the purple fire to clash with the negative spiritual vibrations. The vibrations, sensing the danger of the purple fire, tried to flee, but their escape was blocked by the fire and were eventually cornered and consumed.

This process took place in Ye Han's head, so he was extremely cautious. One misstep and even his soul could be burned away.

Streams of pure spiritual vibrations emerged from the purple fire and merged with Ye Han's soul, making it stronger. His soul power also grew as the Fanzhi Decision's circulation speed increased.

"Roar!" After an hour, Ye Han, who had been sitting in meditation, suddenly rose and let out a roar. A black energy ring and a wave of invisible vibrations fiercely radiated from his body.

"Boom!" Explosions erupted from various parts of Ye Han's body, and a torrent of blood sprayed out. All the trees within ten zhang instantly withered.

"Huff, huff," Ye Han landed on the ground, gasping for air. "I never expected that a single level up, absorbing the death energy and resentment of five hundred people, along with that negative spiritual vibration, would actually allow me to ascend," he thought to himself. He had reached the pinnacle of the mid-stage fourth-level zombie, just one step away from the advanced stage. But how many more deaths it would take to reach that next step, he did not know.

Ye Han reverted to his human form and changed his clothes. However, he did not leave immediately but instead set up a concealed array and entered it. Having just consolidated his strength, it was still unstable, so he needed to cultivate for a while longer.

Days passed, and while Ye Han remained still in cultivation, Kelter City was thrown into

turmoil. Overnight, the destruction of the Patrickly family and the complete annihilation of over a dozen other forces, along with the mysterious energy barrier over the ruins, sent waves of panic through the city.

The major families and other forces of Kelter City grew fearful, not just because of Ye Han's bloody methods, but also because the sheer shock of what had happened to the Patrickly family and the others deeply affected everyone.

Eventually, under the initiative of the Church of Light, all the forces and families in Kelter City united. Using Ye Han's inhumane methods as a pretext, they launched an attack on the Helian family. The reason was simple: everyone knew that Ye Han cared most about his mother. Capturing her was the same as capturing Ye Han's weakness.

Thus, all the families and forces eager to capture Ye Han joined in. Suddenly, the Helian family, a small second-rate clan, became the battlefield of Kelter City.

Hundreds of people from all the forces or families, all above the fifth tier, besieged the Helian family. Led by twenty-three ninth-tier powerhouses and thirty-four eighth-tier powerhouses, they launched their attack.

The Helian family fought back, but overwhelmed by the number of masters, they suffered countless deaths. After the battle, several key members of the Helian family were captured, and none were left alive.

In the days following the battle, news of the event spread throughout Kelter City and the surrounding villages. And because of the pretext and the involvement of the Church of Light, no one thought they were wrong. In fact, some even praised them.

Days passed, and Ye Han had been cultivating for a full ten days. More and more people from Kelter City came, each hoping to claim a share of the spoils.

After a battle of saint-tier fighters, the Transverse Mountain Range, whether day or night, was rarely entered by magical beasts because a faint dragon's aura still lingered in the air.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, an explosion echoed over the desolate land, and a black figure shot out from the void as if traversing through space. Hovering three zhang above the ground, he slowly descended.

"I didn't expect that a single level-up would bring me to the strength of an eighth-tier on this continent. No wonder zombie advancement is difficult, but the benefits each advancement brings are immense; the sheer increase in strength alone is already crazy," the figure on the ground said to himself, moving his body. After ten days of cultivation, Ye Han had fully solidified his strength.

Having reached the pinnacle of the mid-stage fourth-level zombie, his power now matched that of an eighth-tier powerhouse on the continent. Whether it was speed, strength, or defense, he had made significant improvements. The feeling of being full of power was something Ye Han thoroughly enjoyed.

"Hmm?" Suddenly, Ye Han raised his head, looking around, only to be taken aback, then his face lit up with ecstasy. "This must be a sixth-tier magical beast, the Wind Wolf."

Around Ye Han were no less than fifty creatures about ten zhang long and half a person tall, resembling wolves from Earth. Their eyes were blood-red, their limbs bore inch-long sharp claws, and they were riddled with rot. Trembling, they lay on the ground, eyeing Ye Han.

"Heh, my blood isn't so tasty," Ye Han chuckled.
