"What did you say?!" Flynn immediately turned pale, and before he could ask about the nature of her injuries, he frantically asked, "Which hospital is Professor Crawford going to?"
"DC Hospital!"
"Okay, I'm on my way!"
After hanging up, Flynn's expression was one of deep concern.
Just seconds ago, he had assured Lucas that he would never let anything happen to Gemma Crawford. Yet, almost immediately, he found himself in a contradiction. Gemma was hurt and had been taken to the hospital.
Lucas, too, had overheard the conversation, and his countenance grew dark. "Professor Crawford is injured? What has happened?"
Flynn was at a loss for words, but he quickly said, "I'm heading to the hospital right now to see for myself, and then I'll ask the project leader for details."
Lucas responded with a furrowed brow, "I'm coming with you."
