A Month Later
"What?? On the day of signing contract, you're calmly telling me that the clients are stolen?!!" Kevin roared slamming the table of the conference room.
He was almost on the verge of losing his mind because it was not the first but the fourth time in the month that the Client of V.R Corporation's, the biggest known Company of California's client was stolen. Kevin let it slide for few times out of his generosity but he finally realized that he was fueling their audacity, leading to the billion dollars client being stolen this time.
"Who is it?" His eyes were sharp as he glared at the general manager who was trembling on his spot. If looks could cut, he knew he would have splits all over him.
"It's... the new company again... Zen Corporation..." Steve, the general manager, shuttered. Being responsible for all the clints that were shockingly stolen, he was silently praying not to get fired.
Zen Corporation was the newly emerged company of California that threatened the achievements of almost all the companies made over the years within a month. And there was no single piece of information about the owner of Zen Corporation except for the rumor that he is now the mysterious and ruthless leader of the business world popped out of nowhere.
Kevin had treated the existence of Zen Corporation as mere nothing but after this incident, he realized that he was too arrogant to not pay attention to them which they obviously wanted from him.
"Alrighttttt ... Let me show them their place..." He furiously stormed out of the room, slamming back the door loudly that startled everyone. Everyone sat their glued to their seat, nervous, aware of one thing for sure... a huge storm was going to take place in California.
.....
Kevin drove it fit fury along the busy highway on full speed. All he wanted was to reach Zen Corporation as soon as possible and turn them upside down. The curiosity was taking the best of him to know who the mysterious guy was, daring to provoke V.R Corporation or him to be precise, continuously even after knowing their position and power in California.
As soon as he reached the grand Zen Corp. that stood proudly, he slammed the door of his car and strode in directly.
"I want to meet your President!" He demanded domineeringly to the receptionist, taking her aback for a moment.
"Hello. Do you have any appointment with President?" The receptionist composed herself and smiled at him.
"I said I want to meet your president! Where the hell is he??" Kevin slammed the table impatiently drawing the attention of every one around towards him.
"Sorry. But he isn't availabl..." Before she could complete another voice interrupted her from behind.
"Lydia, President has asked you to send all the documents parceled on the 24th floor to the Conference Room." A young man arrived just at the right moment, interrupting Lydia. His faced was covered with a file he was scanning, completely engulfed in the document that he didn't realize what was going on there.
Upon getting no response, he raised his head and saw the receptionist, Lydia, giving him 'You're Dead!' glare.
When she moved her eyes back to Kevin, and she was panic-stricken the moment she saw him straightly heading towards the elevator.
"Sir.... excuse me!! You can't go without permission... Stopp please." She jumped completely frightened and rushed after Kevin but before she could stop him the elevator shut on her face.
Lydia slapped her head and sighed walking to her counter where Gary stood, still completely stunned.
"What happened?" Gary asked perplexed.
"A big storm is on the way and all thanks to you. Now, just pray that you don't lose the job!" She snapped at him resting her head on her palm and praying that they don't get fired today.
....
The moment Elevator opened; Kevin directly stormed towards the Conference Room. He was furious and determined to confront the man who had been getting on his nerves and give him a taste of the consequence of provoking him.
He twisted the doorknob, obviously trying to make a dramatic entry, but as soon as he pushed the door of conference, the very first moment, his whole body froze when his black eyes met the pair of most beautiful grey eyes. His determination to turn the man's world upside down somehow ended up twisting his world in the moment as he didn't have to think twice the person he was.
There he was; Black, straight hair awkwardly hanging over a chiseled, handsome face. Ashen-gray eyes, set sunken within their sockets, locked vigorously at Kevin's dark eyes. A slight smirk playing on his lips, perfectly complimenting his breathtaking looks.
There was something irregular about him, perhaps it's his sturdy frame or his mysteriously glinting eyes or perhaps it's simply his good looks.
"And you are?" His voice was molten sexy that the lion king Kevin stood there frozen on the spot. The ring of his voice in his hair felt familiar. He stood there, trying hard to remember where the familiarity came from that left a silence with a silent connection passing between them.
"Lydia, I asked you to send parceled documents not just mute errand boy with no documents." Zion rasped with a hint of slight mockery, breaking the ice again!
"I'm sorry, President. I tried to stop him but he forced his way here!" Lydia, who just arrived at the door running, said trying to catch her breath. Zion turned to Kevin; his brow slightly raised. Yes, Kevin's presence wasn't ordinary despite the facial disguise of a man in his late 30's, his aura and composure screamed of the rich, cool, and feisty young man.
"Where are the guards?" Zion raised his brows.
"They are on their way," Kevin chuckled after hearing his word. He ran his hands through his dark hair before entering the room with steady steps, "really slow, aren't they? Just like the person ordering!"
Every jaw on the room almost dropped to the floor, staring at the daring man quipping such a bold remark for Zion in bewildered. Puzzled expression crossed their face wondering if it was over confidence or Zion's charm that slowly led his steps towards the Lion's den.
"Everyone, Out!" Zion ordered; his eyes still locked with Kevin.
"President but…" Izumi, his young-looking assistance, tried to protest, unable to grasp the sudden flip of the situation. Did he just order billion dollars client out of the room?
"Izu..mi…" His call was soft but stern, warning this time. "Escort the clients to my office."
The conference hall emptied within few seconds leaving the two sinfully handsome men alone. An eerie silence descended on the room as they both continued to stare into each other's eyes as if trying to find something.
"So, you must be the man who has been stealing my clients." Kevin finally said something, his voice deep masculine. Zion raised his eyebrows.
"Stealing is a strong word but that isn't surprising. I've been called a thief the past days…" Zion smirked playfully.
Kevin was confused if he wasn't taken aback by his fearless or shamelessness.
"You must have deep passion for stealing to be called thief." Kevin said making him chuckle.
"I won't say passion for stealing but I'm really passionate about bullying since childhood." Zion eyes were beaming mischievously as he carefully studied Kevin's midnight black eyes with long eyelashes, pointed proud nose, slightly nude lips perfectly engraved on his slightly bearded skin. The black suit on his perfectly built body were custom made, perfect of his size, matched with white shirt and black tie. He was epitome of perfection. Zion's gaze was piercing as he studied him, for a moment, making Kevin self-conscious, wondering if he could see past his disguise.
"What a coincidence. I have really good practice fighting against bully since childhood." Kevin took few steps back and settled in the chair beside him.
"Were you bullied back then?" Zion asked out of blue.
Kevin narrowed his eyes, not liking the director their conversation was taking. He hated to remember that he was bullied back then by a daring notorious jerk who provoked him time and again even after knowing that he belonged to a powerful family. What a shame for the great president of V.R corporation to admit that he was bullied back then.
"Seems like I hit the bulls eye." Zion chuckled after a while of studying Kevin's expression.
"Are you indirectly hinting that you want to bully V.R Corporation?" Kevin asked taking the conversation on serious mode.
"What if I do?" Zion challenged back, his voice menacing.
"I don't think such a vigorous leader is unaware of opponents power and consequences." Kevin's eyes turned cold as he leaned back on the chair. It was a open threat to him.
"If I cared about opponents' power and consequences, I would never have been able to bully." Zion retorted back, playing with a cube on his hands before his eyes flickered back to Kevin. "Anyways, there's no fun in bullying the weak. The stronger the opponent, the exciting the game!"
"Surprisingly, I'm also fond of playing games." Kevin slammed the table and leaned forward staring directly into his ashen grey eyes as Zion replied, "Then, let's play. We'll see who will win the game."
"Then Goodluck, cocky lad, for the consequences." Kevin stood up and turned to leave.
"On second note, what if I don't?" Zion's voice stopped him just when his hands gripped the doorknob.
Kevin turned around to face him and smirked in delight. With his arrogance, he didn't expect him to back out until he got taste of losing the game that he started on his own but his sudden surrender surprised him.
"Return the clients V.R Corporation and apologize." Kevin leaned against door with his one foot resting back on the door.
"That's easy, I can return you your clients and apologize." Zion solved the cube and finally looked at Kevin, "But… what will I get?"
"What do you want?" Kevin narrowed his eyes. "Shares, partnerships, projects?"
"If I wanted those, I wouldn't have to put in such a huge effort." Zion smiled slyly making Kevin impatient. What he hated most was people beating around the bush and wasting his time. How he badly wanted to wipe the smirk off his face but for the last time he decided to be patient.
"So, what is it?" Kevin asked impatiently.
"You sure you won't back off?"
Kevin rasped, running out of patience, "Just fucking name it!"
There was a long pause and both of them stared into each other's eyes challengingly.
"Smile!" Zion finally spoke freezing him on his spot once again. "Just a smile, and your wishes will be my command!"
The sinful grin on Zion's face widened slightly as he watched Kevin froze on a spot before fuming with anger. "But i have to warn you, don't confuse a smile with baring teeth," he added pushing his bottom line.
"You'd be in good shape if you ran as much as your mouth." Kevin rasped and Zion raised his eyebrows. "And… I'll be damned the day if the sight of your cocky face makes me smile!"
"See you around," Kevin added before he stormed out of the building in a full fit of fury!
