Monsters that my brother fought and its sudden appearance at Wolstice's territory. It's obvious who sent it.
'Iarkial, that obsessed bastard.'
"Ashercian." The headmaster called out for his grandson, "Escort the lady to her room for now and ensure her safety."
"W-What, hey?" Ashercian took me away from the room immediately. I can only look back before the door closed to the faces of the headmaster and Vincent who were seriously talking.
The servants and maids in the hallway were in a state of panic. "Stay inside no matter what." Ashercian took me to my room as per my guidance.
"Hey wa-wait!.."
"It'll be fine so don't ever go out. Lock your door and windows." With that, he closed the door and left. I was frozen on my spot as the shouts are heard even from here.
"Iarkial…you fucking psycho."
I opened the windows a little and from afar, normal knights gather up wearing armors and swords, with ability-users knights.
At this distance and angle, I could see even a little of monsters—no, they're chimeras. Magic beasts that the people in the tower made.
People in the tower are magicians, witches, and sometimes.. researchers. At their top inside that tower back then was Iarkial, the strongest mage and the owner of that tower; located in a nearby kingdom outside the empire.
If the Visceral Empire have Ashercian, the strongest ability-user ever known then Iarkial is the best when it comes to magic. In modern thinking, they're like water and oil.
'That's why I wanted to get along with that guy.'
Even then, those two doesn't get along and so as I've heard. Though their powers both came from a star, they're completely opposite.
Mages and Ability users have a never-ending dispute. They hated each other that a war started because of it three years from now.
And also because of those beasts. Researchers from the tower made magic beasts from animals and normal monsters. They mixed it together and formed a kind of sturdy beast.
"Those magic beasts are the things they made ran amok at the capital of the empire." I'm sure of it, those things are that.
It's still not probably perfected yet seeing how some of it are easily defeated by the normal knights. The magic beasts I saw then are strong that an imperial family member had to die for it.
"I need to do something about this. It's still dangerous." I went around and took out my notebook from the drawer.
I teared one of the pages and tried to find a sharp enough object inside, however… I can't find anything like that.
Damn it. It's not like I can use my vines to reach them! I'll not be able to get outside nor boldly help them since it'll arouse suspicions of how I was able to utilize my ability perfectly.
"What should I do…ah! Really, stupid!" I grew a short thorny vine on my right hand and using the thorn part of the vine, I pricked my finger with it.
A small portion of blood poured out from my finger. I used it to draw a magic circle on the paper I tore from my notebook.
"There done. I hope my mana makes it." I laid my hands in front of the paper and closed my eyes to start the chant, "O' great spirits that guards and embraced the skies, I summon the high spirit of fire, Ignis!"
A light shone on the paper and a immeasurable mana immediately consumed my body. "Ugh.." I staggered.
My body wobbled from the sudden consume of mana and yet I didn't took out my hands on the paper. I need to make a contract with an elemental!
It's understandable, unlike before, my body at this time is still inexperience that's why my mana is consumed much easier. Unlike my ability, I can't pour my knowledge on this one.
'Please, please! I need this–'
[ Were you the one that called for me? ]
A bird. A flying bird that's surrounded by skin of fire. It's astounding magic and presence as it shone and flew around was elegant and beautiful.
Slowly, I nodded at it. It flapped its wings and sort of bowed it's head.
[ It's a great honor to have been summoned by a Trovis. I'm Ignis, the high spirit of fire. ]
"I am Zaria of Trovis and I summoned you to make a contract with me." Ignis stared at me for a while, "Would you make a contract with me, Ignis?"
[ How bold. It looks to me you've just awakened and yet… the look in your eyes states otherwise. ]
"Is that a no? What do you want so I can make you form a contract with me?"
[ Who would refuse a contract with the great Trovis? Fine, Trovis. I only need your mana and to be set free from the spirit world so I don't need a lot. ]
A smile formed on my lips, "All right then, it's set."
Something on my chest burned and a warm sensation spread on it. The familiar feeling today was just like how it was when I made a contract with my two elementals before.
I peek on it and the four corners that forms a star shone a red light. It proves that the contract has been made.
"Then Ignis… I need you to do something." Ignis flew in front of me and sat on my shoulder. His flames felt warm yet not dangerous.
[ Hmp. I know. Say it, Zaria. ]
The way he addressed me changed. Really… this spirit of mine haven't change.
A long silence filled the room and for a moment, loud shouts erupted again. I'm sure even if the Headmaster and Ashercian is here, they won't be able to tend with everyone.
Especially outside the manor. They can teleport but for how long can people hold out?
"Ignis, burn those magical beast encircling this territory. Don't leave a singe one of them alive."
[ Dear, that's barbaric but I like that. However, will you be okay? You just summoned me. ]
I chuckled a little and glared at the window in front of me where the magical beasts and knights were fighting each other to death.
Headmaster and Ashercian must've proceeded to the other parts of Wolstice territory.
The beasts were almost crashing the gates of the manor and the male servants had already started to joined in to help.
Ability users that seems to be Asters also had a hard time because of its huge numbers.
My smile turned into a smirk. I petted Ignis' head despite him getting flustered on it.
'How would you feel if they were to turn ashes, Iarkial?'
"Take my mana however you want but.." I turned around from the scene as my lips went down, "Burn them all to crisps and ashes, Ignis."
