"A bird burn the monsters!" Shouts erupted from the gate that it even reached the manor. Even the servants inside are in joy from the mysterious help of a bird.
I watched the magic beasts burned to death through the window that's facing the gates. It was kind of far but the flames and smoke was big enough to be seen.
"Hmm. I'm satisfied." A pleased smile appeared on my face as I watched the scene. "Oh? It healed already? So fast." The wound from my thorns earlier disappeared.
It healed. One of my feature ability is my capability to heal, especially my self. With my will, I can heal anything but curses and wounds inflicted by the sword of Erebius.
Using my lilies, I can use a wide range healing but that's a different case already and it's not like I can use it right now to the wounded knights.
"But.. Ignis really did a good job. Though he's using a lot of my mana." I stretched my tired arms around and went to my bed.
"My spirit is so enthusiastic." I laughed a bit and lay down.
Ignis was able to burned those magical beasts because he's powerful but that's not all. With my mana, it shouldn't have been possible to fight them like that.
Aside from the fact that those magical beasts aren't on the perfect stage yet and burning them to ashes would be enough, Ignis made used of his wide ranged flames.
So he utilized my mana into singlehandedly slaughter without wasting any of it.
"Really, he hasn't change." I mumbled while staring at the ceiling painted with renaissance paintings of angels and women.
Ignis was my first ever spirit. When I first discovered my second ability at nineteen which suddenly appear, I was ecstatic and yet didn't tell it to anyone because I knew how unusual it is.
I read all kinds of books back then related to being elementalist and found my family's connection to it.
I was only able to barely summon Ignis at the age of twenty despite the dark magic surrounding the tower. He was a kind, all-knowing, elegant spirit.
"And yet.. he didn't really lasts long."
The notice of war happened and Iarkial locked me up so my connection with Ignis was severed as he can't stand the dark magic on that room.
We'll both die if I hold on to him who was dying by the dark magic without me knowing.
It took me two years to summoned a spirit again. Only to drag it with me in my death as I've died after a short while of sending letter to my brother using Rin.
I closed my eyes and smiled, with these, I could see what Ignis is doing right now.
'He's making toasted beasts.'
"Run wild, my dear spirit."

"L-Look there! A bird.. A bird is burning those monsters!"
The people of feur village located in the territory of Wolstice, looked up to what a bleeding knight pointed to.
Everyone thought he's just hallucinating from the wound on his head but when they saw what he was talking about..
They were stunned.
A bird as if wrapped by flames and is only made of fire flapped it's wings as it shoots large fireballs using one of its wings.
In a snap, the magic beasts that the knights were having a hard time fighting because of its numbers… were roasted.
"Help the bird, everyone! Gather those monsters in one place!" Fred shouted, the Vice-Commander of the Order of Viez; the order of normal knights owned by Wolstice.
The knights which didn't accompanied by ability-users knights, helped each other to gather them in one place, away from the people.
Ignis saw what they did and waited for them to finish. Fred, as if realizing Ignis understood them, finally signaled.
Again, Ignis raised his blazing wings and after flapping it, a huge fireball engulfed the magic beasts.
"It's done! All clear, Vice-Commander!"
"All right! Check on the injured!" Fred inspect the whole area and was startled when he looked up again, "Huh? Where'd that bird go?"
The bird disappeared.
On the other side of feur village, the main city of Wolstice; Reit, Rodine tapped his scepter on the ground harder.
Unlike the feur village, Reit was being wreck havoc to by hordes of magic beasts. The center of the territory infested by monsters looked horrible.
The stands of vendors and houses were in ruins. Corpses of people who wasn't able to evacuate lined up on the road.
"Help me! Ah.. my child.."
"My lord!"
A force, like a swamp, though as pitch as black swallowed the beasts that's about to attack a woman. In just a span of seconds, the magic beasts disappeared.
"A-Ah.. p-purple eyes.. young lord!" The woman who was saved trembled. A black haired man wearing an eyes of a predator stood in front of her.
It was Ashercian.
"Leave." The woman for a moment stared for a while before finally leaving along her child.
"Take 'em all." A low pitched voice echoed as Ashercian extended his arm. A black light appeared on his hands.
"Krrr!"
The immense purple light coming from Ashercian's hands went towards the group of beasts growling at him.
In a moment, the light zapped and the force of shadow swamp appeared on the ground where the monsters stood. Again, it swallowed them.
"Young lord, are you okay?" Ser, Ashercian's assistant came to check on him. The latter only nod and took out his sword.
"Is grandfather alright?"
A purple aura like his eyes was embedded on the sword. As he swished the sword, the group of beasts slowly step back.
"He is but it would be better for you to help him. The situation's grave."
Heads of the beasts fell down one by one. Ser watched his master wiped the blood on his face with his amethyst colored eyes glowing like founding pleasure on it.
A different fear and shiver swept the poor Ser who can only looked down from the inability of looking straight into his master's eyes.
'What's the difference between these monsters and him?' Ser's thoughts while his hand trembled a little from the frightening aura coming from Ashercian.
"Let's go." Ashercian's low voice awoke Ser's system. They started to trudge towards where Rodine was.
However, a strong hot wind suddenly swept across them.
"Kyii!" A fire bird flew straight to where Rodine was.
"Young lord… that bird.. it's coming to where your grandfather is!" An anxious voiced erupted from Ser.
They both ran in a hurry towards where Rodine is. Though, the old man when they spotted him.. was in a dazed to the bird flying in a circle.
"Grandfather!" Ashercian approached Rodine. Slowly, the old man looked back with obvious confusion on his face.
The bird raised its wings and a ball of fire accumulated on it. Ashercian fixed his stance and readied his hands shadows however a hand stopped him.
"Don't. Focus on grouping the monsters from here on out, hurry!" Rodine who shouted startled the knights. The old man's eyes shook as it continued to stare at the bird.
The knights followed their master's instructions. Using their swords to corner the beasts, they group them into a lot of horde.
"It's do–" Just then, the fireball from the bird hit the horde of magic beasts. The strong flame cooked and turn it into ashes in just minutes of being swallowed.
Simultaneous fireball crashed down towards the group of magic beasts. The knights, people, including Rodine and Ashercian watched them get roasted.
It was a complete slaughter, without mercy.
Rodine watched the bird again flew around as it happily took off after his job is done. A familiar feeling and mana was traced from the magic of the bird.
The more he felt it, the more he's terrified to confirm his intuition.
"Grandfather, is that bird… a spirit?" His grandson, with indescribable expression on his face hesitantly asked.
Rodine nodded. The last time he saw a spirit was when his dear student, Callice Trovis was in the empire. His eyes continued to tremble from a new fact.
"It seems the Trovis' spirits… finally found a new owner."
