The next day, Peter Wright came to their doorsteps with heavy breaths.
"Papirus! What happened?! Why are we moving out of the building again?" Peter exclaimed the moment Lucian and Eugene opened the door for him. He shakily moved toward the sofa to plop himself there. "I'm so confused. What is going on, young sirs?"
Lucian folded his arms over his chest as he tilted his head toward Eugene, prompting the older man to explain for Peter's sake. As much as Lucian was the one who was primarily involved in all of this, it was still Eugene who had a stronger connection with the editor-in-chief.
Eugene was quick enough to get the message. He settled himself on the chair first before crossing his legs like the aristocrat that he was. "Would you like tea first, Mr. Wright?" he generously offered, gesturing the pot of tea on top of the table.
"No, no. There's no need, really. Just tell me about it," Peter quickly muttered while wiping his sweat with the handkerchief that he got from the pocket of his coat. He must've sprinted his way through their apartment.
Eugene nodded his head in understanding. "Very well. Then I'll make this brief and precise." He paused a little bit to glance at Lucian before he spoke once again. "We're not after the building anymore; instead, we're planning to just buy a new one and start a printing press from scratch."
"What?" Peter Wright clasped his chest in shock. "From scratch?"
"Indeed, it may sound impossible and costly, but due to the push-and-pull tactic that Lucian used during the negotiation period, we earned extra cash for the expected expenses." Eugene casually gestured towards Lucian. "Please don't worry about it anymore; our business tyrant here will handle such matters in his golden hands. Your role is to be an editor-in-chief and nothing else. Just write articles and newspapers. There's no need for you to fret about the money."
No matter how Lucian tried to console Peter, the editor-in-chief was still in a state of shock as he fanned himself with his hand. He stared at the two young alphas in front of him. "I don't know what to say, but there's no doubt that the both of you are monsters to your enemies," he muttered in all honesty. Peter was convinced that he should never face these two head-on. He wouldn't want to end up crawling by the pavements, asking for coins.
They would be such a menace to society if society ever wronged them.
After Peter was done coping with all the stress he'd been through, he finally bid goodbye to Lucian and Eugene.
Lucian looked at Eugene with squinted eyes. "What are you planning? What are you using him for if we don't have the previous data anymore?" he asked, calmly sitting down by the single chair in front of Eugene.
Truth be told, the files that Eugene was coming for have been returned to the possession of those who bought the Papirus. It was technically impossible for the Marquis to get them back.
"There's no use in crying over spilled milk. I'm simply keen on just using the power of mass media to inform them of the parasites," Eugene replied as he leaned his cheek on his fist, his elbow resting on the chair's arm. He looked elegantly lazy this way. Like a maine coon cat.
Lucian raised an eyebrow at him. "That's not a bad idea, but to spend thousands of pounds for just a single cause seems unfitting," he said, followed by a pensive sigh. "How about you add another goal for it so I can decide whether or not to fully support you in this?"
"I thought I already had your full support, Lucian?" Eugene mused, a small, seductive smile on his handsome face. "What kind of convincing do you want from me?" He shifted in his seat to make himself look more sensual. He was clearly teasing and seducing the duke's son.
Lucian gazed at him with his beautiful golden eyes, his stare filled with amusement and something else. Something in between lust and love.
"Any kind of convincing, I suppose," he whispered in a low tone, his voice breathy and deep as he stood up from his chair to cross the distance between him and the charming beauty named Eugene. "You should do your best, though. I'm quite picky," he added with a chuckle, placing both of his hands on Eugene's chair, one on the chair's arm and the other next to the alpha's head.
Eugene gently looked up at him; his expressive, crystal-blue eyes were calm and collected. "Do you prefer words... or actions?" he asked in a whisper. His thin, pinkish lips looked unbelievably soft from Lucian's point of view.
Lucian's eyes darkened. "Both."
"There's no such thing as 'both', your grace. Pick one," Eugene muttered, a soft chuckle escaping from his tender lips.
Lucian gritted his teeth as he tightened his hold on the arm's chair. "Actions."
Eugene smiled at him. A very bright smile. "Well then," he mumbled under his breath, pulling Lucian's face by cupping the side of his face. Their lips touched in a gentle, sweet, and soft motion as Eugene tasted him in the most breath-taking way Lucian could ever imagine.
There was something about their smooth, passionate kiss that made him feel hot all over.
Eugene tasted so good. So delicious and fresh. He could kiss him like this forever. Eugene was simply irresistible. Everything felt like their first time.
"Hmm." Lucian hummed in between their lips as he opened his mouth to cater to Eugene's tongue. Their slow, sensual kiss turned into something hotter. Lucian pried his eyes open, only to see Eugene's fierce crystal-blue eyes looking back at him with intensity just enough to wreck the younger alpha.
Lucian pushed himself closer to Eugene by setting himself on the older man's lap. Their tongues continued to fight as Lucian held tightly to Eugene's collar. Sweat was starting to form on his forehead. His face was incredibly hot just from the kiss.
Eugene wrapped his other arm around Lucian's waist as he used the other to simply caress the younger man's jaw and cheek. Lucian's supple lips were being ravaged by the Marquis, turning redder and more plump than usual.
"Eugene, stop.." Lucian managed to whisper in between their kisses as he placed his hands on Eugene's chest. As much as he liked the kiss, he wasn't interested in dying from the lack of air. "Let me breathe first," he explained, pulling his lips away from the older man's own.
Eugene was a patient man. He kindly let the businessman take his time in gulping up all the air that he could. However, his eyes never left Lucian's face—particularly his lips.
Lucian tasted like heaven and paradise. Very addicting. His lips were plump, soft, and unbelievably luscious, like honey. Eugene was willing to be patient—to wait for Lucian to be ready, just so he could have a taste of his lips again.
His hold on Lucian's waist tightened as he watched the younger alpha unconsciously lick and purse his lips to take a deep breath.
"You look so sexy, Lucian," Eugene spoke with a sigh, pressing Lucian's chest closer to him to feel more of the man's body. "I want to eat you."
"Cannibalistic, huh?" Lucian laughed at him, placing his hands on the blonde man's shoulders for support as he shifted his weight a little bit to make himself weigh lighter. "That's enough, Eugene. I'm already convinced. There's no need for more."
Eugene's eyebrows furrowed. "But I want to kiss you again."
"I know, but my lips feel so swollen right now. Give it some rest," Lucian responded with a squeeze on Eugene's strong, broad shoulders. "I'm not used to it yet. One kiss is enough." He stared at Eugene's face to gauge his reaction.
Eugene gazed back at him. Slowly, his eyes curled into crescents. "Okay, just make sure to get used to it in the longer run."
Lucian scoffed. "So you're planning to kiss me every day?"
"Every hour."
"Hey!"
Laughter rang out across the apartment as the two alphas teased each other.
