Chapter 44 - New Goddess

Planet Strara.

Pyea and everyone in the hall stood up. Caden also stood up, not out of shock but out of respect. He clapped his hands. A wave of energy was released. "All of you bow." His voice left no room to argue. Markus and the others also bowed. They all bowed to Taylor, who had ascended to Godhood.

Forge Room.

Multiple shadows appeared in the room when they noticed the commotion. The pressure from the individuals reminded Vincent of his masters. He knew they could kill and squash him like a bug. Alec, the man responsible for escorting everyone to the awakening site, stepped forward.

"Young man, it is okay. Neither one of us here will hurt her. I can promise you that." Taylor had passed out and was now lying in Vincent's arms. A man scoffed. "Brat, show me the weapon she created for you. I must see it." The man's eyes screamed desperation and greed.

He tried to step and force Vincent but was stopped by Alec. "Walter, step away." Walter pushed his hand away. "Step aside, kid. This is forging master business, and you have no right to interfere." Vincent didn't know what he wanted from him but knew he couldn't hand over Taylor.

'I never thought I would use this card, but here it goes.' "Do you know who I am?" Walter stopped approaching him. His tone and face showed unwavering confidence. "I am the only disciple of the harbingers of death and the only grand disciple of Caden the Reaper. Taylor is the sister of Pyea the Destroyer. They are watching me right now as we speak."

They all frowned when they heard his bold statement. He took out the cloak and put it on as proof. They took a step back. Alec sighed inwardly once he saw them back off. "Vincent, follow me. I will bring you and Taylor somewhere safe.

Vincent picked up Taylor and followed Alec. Walter clenched his teeth in rage as he watched them leave. 'Why haven't I broken through? I have been alive much longer and have more experience than her.'

Vincent followed behind Alec, and they reached his office. Vincent laid Taylor on the couch and winced as he bent over. Alec reached into his desk and pulled out two pills. One was purple, and the other one was white. "Make her swallow the purple one, and you can have the white one."

Vincent didn't move to take the pills. Pyea messaged him. [Give her the medicine. It is going to wake her up.] Vincent took the pill from Alec, crushed it, and put it into water. He opened her mouth and massaged her throat to make it go down. Alec chuckled at him.

"What? Is there a problem?" Vincent looked at him. "No, I wasn't expecting you to administer the medicine that way. Most would make some excuse and use it to kiss her." Vincent rapidly shook his head from left to right.

"You and anyone who would do that is insane! She is beautiful, I will admit, but kissing her or any woman in her situation is wrong." Vincent had a severe facial expression as he said those words. 'On top of that, everything you do is broadcast live.' Taylor had already recovered on the way to the office but decided to reap some extra benefits from Alec.

Vincent felt a hand with a vice-like grip grab his head. "Your mother raised you right." Taylor sat up and stretched. Alec smiled at her. "How does it feel to become a God?" She let out a lengthy breath and smiled. "You mean Goddess. It feels refreshing."

Vincent let out a relaxed sigh as he felt the pill take effect. He closed his eyes but was shocked awake by Taylor. "Ouch! What the hell was that for?" He rubbed his arm. "You can't pass out yet. You are the first person I have made a God weapon for. I need to see it. Where is it?"

He looked at Alec and then at her. She chuckled and nodded her head. Vincent put away the cloak and turned around. On the bottom of his back were two spools of wire. They cris-crossed each other. Taylor gently reached out and traced them.

Vincent felt how gentle she was being. "I never thought you could be so gentle." Taylor pinched his back. "Ow! Ow ow. I quit; I will be silent from now on." She released him, and he made space between them.

"I have decided to name those wires." Vincent quickly cut her off before she could say the name she had come up with. "Wait! Don't I get to name them? They attached themselves to my body and my soul. I should have some say." Taylor glared at him. Alec leaned back in his chair.

Taylor covered the distance between her and Vincent. She put him in a headlock and rubbed her knuckles across his head. She did this for ten minutes until he relented. "Now, as I was saying, the name for the wires will be Cosmic threads."

Vincent shivered as he felt the wires move. Golden light came from Vincent's back and then died down in seconds. Information flashed throughout Vincent's brain as he learned how to wield the threads and their uses. Unfortunately, he couldn't use them to their total capacity because he was too weak.

Notifications sounded in his ears. Taylor brought him back. "Listen, kid, I wanna say thanks. I know you feel like you didn't do anything, but you did. It's because of you I broke through and became a Goddess. You will always have priority over any clients I have in the future, no matter who or what they are."

Vincent understood what that meant for him and anyone he was close with. He gave Taylor a firm look. "Thank you. I know having someone of your caliber on my call is a privilege. I promise you I won't take advantage of it." He shook her hand and then left the office. He could practically feel Alec's anxiousness.

He messaged Talia, telling her to meet him with the others. He set the meeting to a tier-eight practice room. 'I believe everyone on the ship knows about me gaining a God-class weapon. If they don't know, it won't be long until they find out.'

Vincent could already feel the stares of greed and desperation landing on him. He equipped his cloak and put on the clothes with the Grimm clan emblem. He let his baleful aura surge. "I will say this once and one time only. If you want an early death, step forward. I will not spend the last week being paranoid."

No one moved. Most of them stood down and let go of their thoughts toward Vincent. Vincent started walking again. People moved out of his way. He had become a walking storm that would rip everyone to shreds if they weren't careful.
