"I am going to choose Turtwig"
When my mother and Reiss heard this they were quite surprised as just yesterday I said I will choose chimchar and now I have changed the answer.
Other family members also very surprised because chimchar was the popular choice and if not chimchar people choose piplup because it's water type and have advantage over chimchar and even though weak against turtwig there are not many people with turtwig so no problem in that case also. So turtwig was least favorite choice as a starter obviously.
"Oh a turtwig, why you want to choose it? "
Grandfather looked very curious regarding this choice and I have prepared perfect reason for this which I wanted to use at the time after I chose turtwig and father or mother asked me why I chose it but will use that here
"Ah.. So I first wanted to choose chimchar as infernape is the strongest pokemon and I also wanted it but after looking at grandfather I realised that if grandfather is the strongest in our family then old king will be also stronger than the current king then the Tortera of the old king is the strongest pokemon so I changed my mind and I will choose turtwig as a starter. "
Everyone froze after hearing my answer my mother, brother even father was caught off guard by that answer.
It is important to note that there is no official announcement or anything saying infernape is strongest pokemon in the kingdom but it has become a tradition that kings most powerful pokemon is the most powerful pokemon in kingdom so everyone just assumes that infernape is strongest and no one even tried to break this ideology for some reason. Now even of I gave such a silly reason it is not important the important thing was I was challeging the idealogy of king pokemon being strongest which surprised everyone.
After hearing the answer Grandfather started laughing loudly like he has heard joke of century.
"Haha our youngest is such a funny boy you are very lucky Duke"
"Haha yes"
Father smiled awkwardly.
"Haha if that old man learned this he will be very happy I will surely tell him in my next meeting"
Well that escalted quickly I should have just said I have not decided yet.
"Ok I am really looking forward to our meeting after you choose your starter"
By saying this he was just removing the pressure above me and saying that I can choose whatever I want and this conversation shouldn't be the burden while choosing the starter.
"Thank you grandfather"
As I turned to leave I saw a gibble walking in a direction, I turned back and confirmed that that's same gibble which was with grandfather now walking , other also caught by the sight curiosly looking at what it is going to do.
As it walked and stoop up before the the 2nd brothers infernape and took the fighting stance as if it was saying to fight it. Infernape was quite confused and looked at his trainer asking what to do. 2nd brother also confused looked at grandfather.
"Huh look at this little guy looking at so many strong pokemons it's fighting spirit is ignited and wants to fight someone"
"Gibble gibble!! "
"Ok ok you can fight but you can't just fight someone without there permission"
Grandfather was saying with smile while others also had frozen smile on there faces as they knew what's coming.
This didn't happen all times but some times Grandfather holds a competition of whoever is going to defeat the pokemon he carried with him in the meeting and he also announces generous prizes, yes only announces his pokemons have not been defeated yet in any such competition so we didn't know how much good are those prizes but this time it's different.
Firstly he only allows grandchildren to participate in such competition and you can say that his grandchildren were not that much powerful last time as they all lost but this time 1st brother and 2nd brother both have infernape and so they have a good chance of winning the competition this is considering that , that gibbles power level is what I think it is if it is beyond my guess then I don't know what will happen.
Well but it didn't concern me as I don't even have my starter so there is no point I am going to participate in it.
As I was thinking this Grandfather looked at me and Reiss and smiled well I don't know what he is planning but I know it is not s good thing for me as I was thinking how to hide from him he announced
"Today after this meet I will arrange a competition on who can defeat this Gibble and whoever defeats it I will give them whatever pokemon they want but just it is in my limit only. And I will also try to get the best I can find so all the best defeating this gibble. "
And then he looked at me and Reiss again
"Oh you two don't have starters right don't worry I have some pokemons I caught recently which you can use"
He threw pokeballs at us one each.
"Try to communicate with them until this event ends you can use them in this competition"
As I caught the pokeball my intuition was right it was bad situation but I think it's not that bad if I can win this I can ask for a pokemon which I want and Grandfather will give us the best which can be at least dark green or in blue relam that's very good and for that I can pay price as standing out in this situation for some time.
The only thing after this is to worry about if that gibble can actually be defetable.
