"I'll bring her myself to the trial, Harvey."
Elliot's words truly caught me off-guard. I was so dumbfounded to the point I could only stare at him like a fool.
"What do you mean?" I stammered confusedly.
He smiled like an old man on his deathbed.
"I mean, I will catch Sherri by myself and bring her to our trial. I'll be the one who is responsible for her."
I shook my head in disapproval. No matter how heinous Sherri had become, she was a grown-up adult. She should be held accountable for her crime. She should be the one who faces the consequences. Not the other or even his fathers.
"No, Elliott. Seriously, let me and my team who will get her. You don't have to worry about that." I assured him.
But he laughed quietly.
"Why? You don't trust me?" He asked.
