Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 - Aiko's Stupidity and Regret

Third person POV

Shortly after the breakfast meal service, it was time for Akira to blow his candle on his birthday cake, which was a mousse cake with chocolate and mocha icing on it. Everyone at the party was singing Happy Birthday to him as Kae took pictures of him in front of his cake. Akira wished to continue to live for many years to come, and for Hachi to be safe in this household. But then, just as Akira was about to blow out his candle, someone came and showed up, making fun of him while oblivious to the Filipino soldiers at the party. It was Aiko, the girl who looked down on him for coming from a lower-class family and was jealous of him. Upon hearing that, Akira and everyone at the party looked at her.

"Excuse us?" Theo said to her.

Aiko then mockingly chuckled. "That kid was a lower factory boy."

Some of the guests were upset with her, and even so, Ezra and Theo went to her. Ezra then slapped her in the face. "How dare you say that to our cousin?" Aiko was angry at him for doing that to her. "You son of a bitch! I am the child of a rich family in this village! I'll tell my daddy for this, you stupid bastard."

But then, Theo looked at her with a glare. "How dare you say things to the nephew and son of the current president of the Philippines?"

Aiko was shocked to hear that. "W-What?"

Her heart metaphorically stopped in shock.

Ava stepped in and showed a photo of Daniel with her, Ezra, and Akira, alongside his two siblings, in Tamil Nadu, India during an economic summit between the Philippines, India, and Indonesia. "This proves it. Do you know about this guy with us?"

When Aiko didn't know who Daniel was, Ava answered instead, "That's Daniel, the current president of the Philippines."

Hachi, Kae, and her husband crossed their arms at Aiko for being stupid.

Because of this, Aiko was panicking and looked at her homeroom teacher, who attended the birthday party. "Why you didn't tell me that, Kija-sensei(That name was the result of Filipino refugees marrying Japanese locals; thus, these new couples made new, hybrid names for their children; thus, the portmanteau of the name of that teacher was Kiyona and Jake, and that teacher with that name had a Japanese mother and a Filipino father)?"

"I didn't tell you that because Akira didn't want to brag about his status as a nephew of the current president of his father's home country," replied her homeroom teacher Kija Laurel seriously.

 "Yeah!" Riho added strongly.

"What an idiot…" Toshi commented with a British accent while being disappointed at Aiko's arrogant attitude.

"What were you thinking?" Htet added with the same expression as Toshi's.

Aiko was utterly humiliated by this, and her attitude on the inside was now regretting her arrogance.
