Third person POV
A few minutes later, the auction event had begun, with the auction judge, a member of a Yakuza gang, hitting the gable to indicate the event's beginning. Akira and Toshi are confident, but calm at the same time to prevent arousing any suspicion. The auction event went on and on for the 29 minutes, with participants raising their bidding prices on various things like antique vases and glass eggs. Some raise prices as low as 1 million yen while others raise to as high as 1.5 million yen. The judge was talking a bit too fast for the two undercover detectives to catch up.
"Auction judges talk fast," Akira commented to Toshi.
"Yes, they do." Toshi nodded as he sits straight to maintain his posture.
Then, another fragile antique glass vase was sold for 2 million yen, and a high-ranking Italian mafia boss was the one who bought it.
"Woah…" Akira commented.
And then, Hachi spoke through his mono headset, "Hey, Akira-kun, how was it?"
"The blade is not yet there," responded Akira back to him as low as possible.
"Okay, you can do it."
And then, at 6:01 p.m., the Damascus steel sword was finally put into auction, and Akira and Toshi were alerted by it. Many participants began raising their price bidding signs in an attempt to auction it off. But, their bidding prices only reached as high as 10 million yen. Eventually, Akira raised his, which was 20 million yen. The other participants were stunned to see a teenager, who was thought to be a rich Yakuza gangster, raising the price that high.
"No way!"
"What?"
"How?"
"Is he going to buy that?"
Toshi looked at him with good pride.
