Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 – Indebted

Third person POV

As a result, the auction judge declares the Damascus steel-made itachi sword as sold to Akira and Toshi with a strike of his gable. Akira and Toshi are happy and received many compliments from the other rich and criminally dangerous participants. And so, one of the auction judge's assistants took the sword, alongside its scabbard, and gave it to Akira and Toshi.

"Congratulations, Akira-san and Toshi-san," the judge wishes the fake gangsters good luck.

Akira and Toshi then received their expensive prize openly and with gratitude.

Then, Akira informed Hachi via his mono headset quietly. "Dude, the blade is here. I did it."

Hachi is so happy to hear that he yells in his adoptive brother's mono headset loud, causing a screeching noise in the auction event.

Valentino and Masashi then tried to keep him down from making any more noise through Akira's mono headset.

 "Calm down!"

 "You'll blew their cover!"

Even though Hachi stopped making loud noises, the cover had been blown. At the auction event, everyone had heard the screeching noise from Akira's mono headset, and this causes Akira and Toshi to feel nervous about them being fake gangsters.

"Spies…?" one of the participants, an Italian mafia gangster, narrowed his eyes on them in suspicion.

Others became suspicious of them while others started to mutter at each other about who the truly they are.

Because of Hachi's mistake, Valentino took control of the monitoring and said to them, "Guys, run to the entrance now!"

Akira and Toshi did so, and they are about to run from the event when the host, the head of a prominent Yakuza gang, came to them with his two high-ranking subordinates and asked them for their true identification.

When the senior detective and his apprentice answered his question honestly, the host decided to let them go instead.

"And never come back," he added sternly.

"Y-Yes, of course." Akira bowed his head deeply and quickly in gratitude. "We'll never mess with you guys again and also, thank you for the prize."

He and Toshi then dashed out of the place and into the parking lots outside.

Because of that, one gangster shouted his complain, "Hey! They're getting away!"

But the host said to him and the others, "Let them be. My former acquaintance might be behind this espionage."

This stuns his rich and dangerous guests, and some even raised questions about his association with Akira and Toshi's leader.

Later, on the way back to the agency in Toshi's car, Akira thanked Toshi for helping him in his quest to acquire the Damascus steel-made sword. "No problem, my friend," Toshi responded with a light British accent while driving. "You should be thanking Masashi-san and your uncle for supporting your quest, too."

 "Of course, I'll do that."

He then looked at his expensive prize, thinking how he will be indebted to his powerful uncle.

Later, at the agency, Akira said thank you to Masashi and Valentino, and to Daniel via a video call, for helping him in his quest.

"No problem, Akira-kun," Valentino responded positively.

"Anything for my family member," Daniel added while he was on the video call through a laptop.

"Yes, I felt indebted to all of you," Akira happily replied back.

"It's okay, we are happy to help." Masashi chuckled in response. "Just ask us if you need anything, okay?"

Akira then nodded.

And then, Hachi came and apologized to Akira and the others for blowing up the cover. "It's okay, Hachi-kun," Akira responded back in assurance. "We escaped without a problem." Toshi nods to support Akira's assurance. Because of that, Hachi was relieved that he didn't screw his adoptive brother's quest.

After that, Masashi revealed to them who was the host of the auction event. According to him, it was his former acquaintance, who was the head of a Yakuza gang known as the Sei Blades. Everyone in the meeting room was shocked to hear such a revelation, but they, especially Akira, quickly accepted it as fact. But then, Akira felt so relieved that the Yakuza gang had let him and Toshi get away with their expensive prize.

At this point, Daniel transferred the money to the Sei Blades via a hidden Japanese bank account to pay for his nephew's new weapon. Also, Akira's family in Okutama was informed of their family member's success in the quest and mission via Daniel, much to their relief. And lastly, Hachi promises to do better next time and never screw things up.
