Chapter 26 - Pale Orcs

In the nearby dungeon, Orcish Bladecave, an unusual situation was unraveling. There was a large and pale skinned orc with many black tattoos giving him full sleeves on both arms, connecting across his torso, the massive orc was just over three meters tall, and surrounding him were many other orcs, each of them above two meters, these were all Pale Orcs a rare species of orcs not native to this world.

The large section of cave they were in had a disheveled looking throne made of broken tree branches, bones, sinew and rough leathers. It was a symbol of the previous and inferior orcs that inhabited this place.

Sitting atop the throne there was a lazy looking man with one leg thrown over the other, he had messy jet black hair, five-o-clock shadow and a slim build. In contrast to his his lazy look, he was dressed in extremely elegant clothes, gold trim and the finest fabrics one could imagine making up his flowing purple robes.

He looked over the many pale orcs he had summoned to this dungeon.

'Sigh... I spent quite a lot of time finding this rare species of orcs. They best not disappoint me, I want to show that old man I have the power to shape a world to my liking as well. Maybe then he will leave me alone for a few thousand years and stop calling me a trash god.'

Rolling his eyes and summoning a golden goblet filled with an un-ending supply of fine red wine he took a swig and glanced at his new prospects.

The Pale Orc chieftain took this as his que from the deity before him and turned to some of the orcs he trusted with his life in their previous world.

"The two of you go and scout. We should get a lay of the land around our new home." The large pale orc chief had a commanding air to him as he spoke, it was clear that all the orcs present respected and acknowledged him as their leader.

"Yes, of course." One of the orcs responded before the two of them started to leave the large cave.

"We will begin to rebuild our race today. By the hand of this god we were given a second chance, we will not fail to bring about a new age for Pale Orcs!" Shouting a small bit of inspiration before giving out some instructions on their set up and early stages here.

Afterwards, the chief, Azrak the Ghostly began thinking to himself.

'Before coming to this world we were promised a fresh start granted by this god, I am not foolish enough to think that does not come with a price, but our race would have faced annihilation in our last world. We are the only know pale orcs, the deity confirmed it. So we, the last of our kind must rebuild our race and conquer this weak land of humans. Even if it is just for this gods amusement or we are being used in some other way, for now our goals align and I will crush all of our opposition.'

Some time passed in the dark cave the mysterious and lazy looking god was no longer there, he had tossed a simple looking gemstone to Azrak the Ghostly, telling him he could contact him should they run into any issues.

'Although as warriors of their caliper, this world barely has a chance. Worlds that are freshly awakened are the easiest to conquer! The locals barely have a grasp of how mana works! It is just too easy, HAHAHAHAAHA!'

Since the god had gone about his own business, Azrak the Ghostly was now sitting atop the shabby throne. He had been sending out his pale orcs in different teams, setting up areas for sleeping, eating and storage in the cave. While other teams had been given instructions to go out and gather food and nearby resources.

"Chief, we have begun to set up the sleeping and eating arrangements as you requested, here is a map of the locations inside the cave, and the layout of the nearby area." One of the subordinates handed over a rough sheet of parchment that mapped out the dungeon they were housed in and the area immediately around their new home.

"Ahh yes, perfect, the god will be pleased with this strong start. Maybe he will even give us more power." The chieftain was smiling, his tusks protruding out of mouth curving upwards framing his aggressive and powerful face.

'That strange god was very serious about our quick growth... Of course, I want this too we must be strong to rebuild, and if it pleases him we kill two birds with one stone.' The chief thought to himself.

"Now, why don't I go and witness this new world for myself. You will come with me, set your tasks on another before we leave. "

"Yes, my king"

"King?" The chief paused for a moment.

"W-well since we are the only Pale Orcs and we are starting a new kingdom to conquer this world I figure it is a fitting title for you, my king."

"Hahaha! King Azrak, I like it, spread my new title to everyone."

Dungeons In Niss's world of Aetheria, are not unique existences throughout the cosmos. Many worlds have awakened the mana of the universe and through this awakening the worlds inhabitants become able to wield mana. Aetheria was not actually freshly awakened as it was instead a forgotten, cursed and abandoned world.

In awakened worlds there were pockets of mana that were much more rich in quality, allowing the formation of dungeons. These dungeons are the ones Niss and his group are familiar with, they draw local monsters and creatures in with rich mana and through an unknown process the dungeon would temporarily bestow it's power to the strongest creature it could attract. This process served both parties, giving the dungeon a chance to continue to grow in size and collect more mana and also for the inhabitants to grow stronger with it.

Throughout the cosmos there are some beings, either having been cultivated inside an awakened worlds dungeon or by their own strength, who's ability to control the mana of the universe transcended to a godly level.

These beings known as gods would in most cases be the conquers of their own world after their world awakening, other than them there were some gods who ruled as many worlds as they wanted. Having used dungeons as a connecting point to bridge the gap between awakened worlds some gods would conquer as many as they had the power to do so.

Orcish Bladecave, now filled with the foreign Pale Orcs, was a point of connection to another awakened world. The first known of it's kind in Aetheria.
