Chapter 15 - The Hybrid (blessed or cursed)---Chapter 15---The battle is nigh---

"Pretty goddess, how do you think we should handle this? What punishment would be suitable for such a lady?" Minos asked Xin after hearing her story.

Xin was stunned and immediately looked at Minos, who wore his casual look.

"Why are you doing this?" she asked eagerly, waiting for an answer.

"There's no way in hell I will let my future bride get bullied by those below her." Minos said, while softly caressing Xin's hair.

"Thank you, even if you're obviously forcing me to be your wife." Xin said.

"Call it whatever you want, as long as I get what I want, who really cares." Minos said.

"And what do you want?" Xin asked with a face full of curiosity.

"Don't worry about it. Now, the punishment?" Minos asked, in a bid to change the topic.

"I don't really know, but I don't want her dead. I will never forgive myself if she dies and it's all my fault." Xin said, while Minos just nodded.

"I've got a few ideas, though. Just leave it to me." Minos said, before adding, "We are going to the chief's chamber later today."

"Must I tag along?" Xin asked, giving Minos the puppy dog eyes. ⊙﹏⊙

"I never knew you could act this cute." Minos said, amidst a chuckle.

"Sorry, hun, but it's important you come for today's meeting." Minos said, before closing his eyes, as Xin didn't ask why or any other questions.

Later that day, Minos and Xin visited the king's chamber.

"I'm here to tell you my remaining two conditions in order to help you fight this war." Minos immediately said, getting down to business.

"Which are?" the chief asked, as he was already ready to give Minos full control of the Akkaba clan, if that meant he would help fight for their freedom.

"First of all, right now, right here, I want you to perform the wedding rites of Xin and me." Minos said, causing Xin to look at him in shock.

The chief smiled. "Is that all? I will get my servants to prepare the required materials. Give me a minute." The chief said, leaving Xin and Minos as he exited the room.

"Married now? How? We haven't even talked about it." Xin said, obviously not recovered from the shock.

"Listen, I'm not going to war and leaving you unprotected. With my name, no one will dare touch a hair on your body. And we talked about this, I thought I told you I wanted you to be my future Mrs. Well, no time like the present." Minos said, explaining himself to Xin. Even he never wanted a rushed wedding ceremony, but with the situation at hand, it just couldn't be helped. Well, for sure, they would redo this once he got back to earth.

Before Xin could mutter any word, the chief returned, holding two palm fronds and a small plate.

After a while, the wedding rituals were completed and Minos and Xin returned to their seat, as Minos was ready to make his second request.

Bringing his face very close to Xin, he whispered directly into her ears, "Hun, will you please excuse us?"

Xin, who was still in a daze, as she still couldn't believe that she just got married, a slave like her just got married. It was shocking and she would probably be one of those rare ones in history. Immediately, she heard Minos, she left the room.

Seeing she was no more within eye's reach, Minos' expression changed, as his aura surged. Chill filled the entire room. Even the chief was scared of breathing, as he felt a wrong sound could result in his death.

"Listen, I'm sure you know of the fact that my wife's mother was killed unjustly. Today, I'm simply here for revenge. If I had my way, I would have asked you to bring that witch over here and I snap her neck and be done with all of this, but you see, my wife is just so merciful and asked me not to kill her. So here's my decree: after the war, I will be leaving your clan with Xin and before that, I want that woman to be locked in the dungeon till Xin and I leave. Is that alright by you, chief?" Minos asked.

"Y…yes, sir…g…great Minos." The chief stuttered, before Minos locked his aura back in.

Good, I will be awaiting news concerning my final request and the war. If my request was granted, that is. Minos said before leaving.

Entering his hut, he saw Xin lost in her thoughts as she didn't even notice his presence.

"Wifey, what's on your mind?" Minos' calm voice brought Xin back to reality.

"Minos, what will I do with you!" Xin mumbled loud enough for Minos to hear.

"Let's figure that out, we have forever to do so now." Minos said, winking at Xin before moving over to lay on the bed.

With a red face, Xin asked, "When are you going to war?"

"Argh, you just reminded me, sweet wife. Can you do me a favor?" Minos said with pouted lips and palms together.

"Sure, what is it?" Xin asked, holding the urge to laugh as she thought Minos looked silly with pouted lips.

"You see those papers over there?" Minos said, pointing to the pieces of paper on the little wooden table. "Please, will you read them to me?" Minos finished saying before trying his own version of puppy dog eyes, which broke the camel's back as Xin couldn't take it anymore and finally released the laugh she had been holding.

"Wow, you should laugh more often, you pretty witch." Minos said as he was truly mesmerized by Xin's laugh.

After an hour of reading, Xin finally reached the last paper and was about to read when Minos walked out and after a few minutes came back with a water, handing it to Xin while taking the last paper.

"Finish the water, I will handle it from here." Minos said, climbing back to the bed and started going through the paper. When Xin finished the water, Minos was also done with the paper.

"Wow, I'm getting a little bit scared from the information. This dark council cult really has a lot of magical forces. This battle survival rate just moved from 90% to 40%."

"How?" Xin asked as she didn't like the chance rate.

"Hey, you better not die, if not I will kill you, that's a promise." Xin said with a serious tone.

"I will try!" Minos said and for the first time in days activated his window bar and was shocked by the changes.

"This fool is still rebooting." Minos hummed in pure frustration.

chirp A surge of light enveloped Minos' body and the ashen dragon immediately burst out of Minos' body.

"It seems your little pet is no more little." Xin said while her eyes glued to the dragon.

"I guess it increased in size." Minos said after taking a closer look at the bird. Its feathers were no more just red but had a sharp orange color at the tip and its body size also increased.

"So what's the name of the pet?" Xin asked.

"Erm, I haven't had the time to name it yet. You know what, you name it." Minos said, pushing the responsibility to Xin. It's not like Minos hadn't thought of naming his pet, but he couldn't find a nice name so he just ended up keeping it aside.

"Okay, what about Eren?" Xin asked as that was the first name that popped up in her head immediately she saw the different outline of the bird.

"Okay, Eren it is." Minos said.

Dark council

In a room filled with weird paint signs and drawings, seven men gathered around in a circle at the middle of the room where a drawing of a skull with multiple swords attached to it was painted on the floor. All wore black hoods except for the man in the middle with a scepter who wore a red hood.

"Today is the day we raise our great leader, the dark god himself." The man wearing red said as he raised his scepter up and smashed the core at the drawing.

"Ω μεγάλε σκοτεινό άρχοντα, το γκάζι του χρόνου σου ήρθε να καταλάβει τη γη όπως στην προφητεία. Εμείς οι ταπεινοί υπηρέτες σας σας καλούμε να μας χαρίσετε με την παρουσία και τη φωτιά σας!!!"

After they finished their incantation, a red thunder struck the skull painting, turning it blood red.

"My children, you have done well. Time to bring havoc on the children of Psylocke and rule over them for a thousand years." A baritone voice spoke, but the source from where it was coming from was unknown.

"War is nigh!" said one of the black-cloaked guys before releasing a hearty laugh.
