Felix was watching intently to Marilyn who was still in a vegetative condition for a week now. Her pale face was covered with oxygen mask. Felix was clasping her hand, waiting for her to be awaken.
Suddenly, a doctor came inside the room. Felix stand and face him right away.
"Can we talk outside Mr. Go?" the doctor asked and he obliged.
They went to the living room of their VIP Suites in the hospital. Felix, who just had his operation on his left leg four days ago, held the scratches on his left arm to support him as he walks.
"How were the findings of my wife's condition, Doctor Ramirez?"
"I'm afraid her condition is getting worse. She has Stage C, Congestive Heart Failure. She may have been experiencing these symptoms before like shortness of breathing, coughing, fatigue, nausea and swelling of the legs and feet. Haven't you taken her for check-ups before?"
"I did notice it before but she would brush it off every time I told her that we should see a doctor." Felix remembered how much exhausting it was for Marilyn - taking the wines down to the cellar. Often times she would passed out but she refused to go to the hospital. Felix unconsciously put his hands to his face and heave a long sigh.
"I have reported this to Young Mr. Grand, he wants a heart transplant to Mrs. Go as soon as possible."
Hearing this, Felix look up at the doctor. Tears fell instantly in his face and he cried with so much joy. "T-thank you! T-thank you, doctor!" he said holding his hands together as he bows his head.
"Now all you need is pray for her safe operation." The doctor concluded their conversation and went out to leave the room.
Felix rushes immediately towards Marilyn's side – kissing her hand. "My love, you will be fine. Therefore, hang on. I'll take you to places you love. No more hiding, my love, I promise you that." He said and kissed her lips.
Felix blame himself for her conditions. He noticed all the symptoms mentioned by the doctor. He knew something is wrong with her. Yet, he never insisted on taking her to the doctor. He knew that Marilyn was afraid of leaving the town. She was too afraid that an incident might happened like eight years ago. It caused her so much trauma. Not just her but Lellouch as well.
It was a rainy afternoon and Lellouch was having a high fever. Marilyn insisted of bringing her to the hospital but Felix refused. He would always remind Marilyn that outside the town, away from their comrades, they are not safe. Even so, Marilyn was in panicked.
When Felix went out to deliver wine, she took it as an opportunity to bring Lellouch to the hospital in the nearby city. Unfortunately, they weren't able to reach the hospital. They were tracked down by the old comrades of Felix and hit their car.
After a couple of hours, Lellouch woke up in large room, with a couple of armed men. They were torturing Marilyn, kicking her chest hard to make her talk – blood coming out from her mouth as she speaks. Her fever was still high and she was chilling to death but she tried her best to shout at the armed men.
"Stop it, please…" her voice sounds faint but enough to be heard.
Some armed men heard her and walked towards her.
"Hey! The little princess is awake! What should we do with her?"
"Good, so she can see this woman suffer." The other man stated.
Marilyn reached her hands towards Lellouch and couldn't speak further. She was going to collapse when a group of black men barged inside the room and mercilessly killed all their kidnappers. Before Lellouch fainted, she saw someone with an Infinity Tattoo on the left side of his neck, took her in his arms and the man commanded the rest to abandoned the area.
Lellouch observe the unfamiliar area even while she's eating. Her eyes scanned the details of the dining room. It was so big that she was sitting on a twenty-seaters long table. She was sitting on the end of the table while Alejandro was sitting on the other end.
Alejandro on the other hand was so confused at her. His eyes locked on her appearance and it doesn't look suitable to the place and her status as well. She was wearing a reaped jeans and a plane t-shirt – his t-shirt.
"There's a lot of dresses that you might want to try putting on, you know." He suggested trying to convince her to change.
"I-I'm much comfortable on this. Err… By the way, what should I do now?"
"You're supposed to visit the company." he informed.
"C-company? What company? Why am I needed in your company?" she asked obliviously.
"It's not just my company but your company as well. It's the Grand's."
"What should I do with the company? I don't even know if I fit to any jobs there. Besides, I worked in the Foundation, in the Orphanage." She reasoned out.
"You quitted." He said indifferently and sipped his coffee."
"I-I haven't! Why would I quit? That's a very noble job!"
Hearing her raising her voice, Alejandro put down his fork and heaved a sigh. "You can't work at Philadephia anymore since you are in Sydney.
She was dumbfounded. The entire time she thought she was just in Canada but here she is, setting on a long table, in a large mansion all the way to the other face of the Earth.
"W-why are we here?"
"To save you, of course."
"W-why would you save me? I don't need saving." She stood and walk towards him. "Those men attacked my parents. They were the ones who need saving! Now, where are they?" as soon as she ended her statement she was standing beside him.
Alejandro pushed back his chair and pulled her in his lap. She was so shocked that she didn't have time to avoid it from happening. "Hey! Let me go!" she tried to escape but she couldn't. His arms were too strong for her to handle.
"Your parents are in Monaco, they are under the care of your grandfather. As for you, you are the ones who needs protection. Those armed men are oblivious of your worth. They were after the cellar but aside from that, they were after the lost heiress of the Grand Empire. And that is you."
She was at lost for words. She looked straight into his eyes to see a hint of lies but she didn't find any. He was serious.
"Remember when you were kidnaped eight years ago?"
Her eyes narrowed. "How did you know I was kidnaped?"
"It doesn't matter." he brushed her off and continued. " Those men's objective is to take you as hostage. They were after you but aren't too sure if you were the lost princess they were looking for. Since Marilyn was there and they knew that she is Felix's wife. They took the chance to torture her as revenge for Felix."
She looked down. Remembering that traumatic incident caused her uneasiness. After that incident she locked herself in her room. She was too afraid to come out. That caused her phobia. She tried to overcome the fear when she started to work but she end up enduring sleepless night.
In order to adapt the workplace, she needs to take fluoxetine or sertraline to calm herself from panic attacks – worsening her blurry visions. Now that she doesn't have neither the two medicines, her anxiety is attacking her.
"I have one request." She asked and Alejandro looked at her intently. "I need you to train me protect myself." His eyebrow raised upon hearing her.
"Why do you need to train yourself when I'm here to protect you?" he asked nonchalantly.
"Until when?" that leave him speechless. Her whole life is full of mystery that she needs to untangle. She doesn't know her enemy and the harm it can cause her. Everyone tried to protect her but until when and to what extent? One thing is certain for now. Alejandro is keeping important information from her which are definitely dangerous. and she needs to prepare herself.
"Do you want assurance, then?" Lellouch's eyes widened.
"No need. You're not honest to me so why should I trust you? I need to protect myself in any way." She responded, her eyes shows determination.
"Well, that's a… NO.""
Lellouch's smile of anticipation died. "What do you want me to do? Follow you until you die?!" Lellouch was about to stand, fuming with anger but Alejandro's arms tightened.
"Yes. That's a good idea. I'll keep that in mind. "he answered with sarcasm.
"Fuck you!" she glared at him.
That's it. Alejandro lost his patience and took her lips. She was shocked again and was distracted. He nibbled her lower lip before releasing her. Her face was flushed!
Seeing this, Alejandro smiled. "Every time you say mean words, you'll get this as a punishment. Which I'd love to do. Although, I must say, you need to control your temper, My Lady." She was going to retaliate when he spoke again. "You're stuck her with me. We're inseparable now."
