Arthur saw the objective and he smiled inwardly, it seemed that he got himself a very good objective. However, his happiness didn't last long as he heard an earth-shaking howl that sent a shiver down his spine. It didn't sound like anything Arthur had ever heard before. It was savage, monstrous, and bloodthirsty.
The fire behind them flickered by the sheer strength of the air generated by the monstrous shriek. In the darkness of the night, Arthur and the hero party couldn't see anything so their only indication was the horrifying shriek.
Yet, for one reason or another, Arthur didn't feel as terrified as he expected himself to be. Perhaps it was the memories of the body he was occupying that calmed him down or perhaps it was his confidence in his abilities that he gained. Either way, Arthur felt a rush of excitement fill his heart out of nowhere.
'Now this is something… I'm glad I'm not cowering like a chicken but this is still pretty weird… I never even fought a monster in my life!'
As he was having such thoughts, he heard Mino yell. "Your positions, guys!"
Immediately, the group dispersed around the area. Arthur somehow also knew where he should go so he immediately followed what his senses told him to do. A second later, a giant monster appeared out of the darkness as it rushed toward the hero party with ferocious bloodlust.
The monster was akin to a wolf in appearance except even more repulsive to the eye. He had a pair of bloody eyes, a gigantic mouth filled to the brim with sharp teeth, and 6 legs that ran in synchronization as he closed the distance between them in a matter of seconds.
"Boriat!!" Mino yelled again.
Immediately, the giant man rushed toward the wolf with a wild grin. The moment he got close, he jumped in the air before he smashed down with his ax, aiming for the monster's skull.
The creature growled loudly before it opened its mouth and took Boriat in. The ax hit its target, sending the monster back.
"Damn, it almost tore me apart!" He laughed as he jumped down and touched his already broken armor. A huge dent could be seen where the teeth connected with the creature.
"Good job, Boriat!" Mino smiled as he rushed to the monster who looked weak and unable to move. Behind him was Ani and Kali who quickly used their powers. Ani summoned a few floating rocks around her before she sent them flying toward the wolf, hitting multiple parts of his body.
The creature stumbled back even more as it groaned audibly.
At the same time, Kali used her ability to enhance the strength of the group. Immediately, Mino's speed increased as he channeled mana to his sword. Immediately, the long blade ignited with a bright white flame.
The sheer strength of the flame illuminated the dark night. Closing the distance between him and the wolf, he slashed down with his sword, hitting the wolf in the abdomen. The creature howled in pain, shaking the world around it.
The attack had sliced through its abdomen, burning its flesh with the holy flames. Blood gushes out like a torrent from the injury.
"Arthur!!"
At that moment, Arthur heard his voice being called so he took a deep breath. Then, using the knowledge he acquired, he channeled his mana. Immediately, his body was swallowed by his own shadow. The sight itself was magical and mesmerizing. But, Arthur knew that he didn't have time for excitement as he quickly disappeared into his shadow.
'Ugh, I can't see..' Opening his eyes, Arthur could only see darkness around him. The sight was terrifying as if Arthur had become blind in a moment. But, before he could even panic, he noticed on the horizon a small beacon of light.
Immediately, his body started moving toward it as if he were a moth attracted to the flames. It didn't even require his knowledge at all, he just felt like he needed to go there.
When he reached the beacon of light, Arthur's body suddenly was catapulted upward, as he exited the world of the shadows and found himself in the air, hovering above the weakened wolf.
'Shit!' SHaking his thoughts away, Arthur quickly pulled out the two daggers that he had on both of his hips.
"AAAAAHHH!!" Yelling loudly he pierced the monster's nape with both daggers as he landed on its back.
*GROWL*
The monster felt the sharp pain so it violently shook its body and started jumping around. Arthur felt extreme pain in his arms as he was swung left and right.
"Hnnng… Stop… Moving!" He yelled as he grabbed the swords with all his might. All the points he had in strength worked their full usefulness right at that moment.
"Arthur needs our support!!" Ani yelled.
"I'm on it!" Boriat yelled as he approached the wolf and clutched into one of his six legs before he used his bulging muscles to fix it in one position. However, the wolf wasn't easily stoppable. Boriat was slowly getting dragged to the ground, leaving behind a long trace on the ground beneath him.
"ARTHUR!! I CAN'T HOLD ON ANY LONGER!!" Boriat yelled as he clenched his teeth. Because of the wolf's frantic movements, he got hit multiple times. But, he didn't let go of its leg.
"I'm… On it!!" Arthur pushed his limit as he quickly pulled one of the daggers out and shoved it into another part of the monster's nape. Blood splurted out, covering Arthur completely.
Finally, after a brutal brawl, the monster's movements started slowing down. Because of the sheer blood loss it sustained. Eventually, it succumbed to its injuries and fell down to the ground, dead.
"Hah… Hah… I did it…" Pulling the dagger out, Arthur heaved up and down as he stared down at the dead monster, his whole body was covered in blood which made him look like a creature straight out of a nightmare.

A series of notifications appeared in front of Arthur. But, he didn't care about them at all as he sat down and closed his eyes.
'I did it… I actually killed my first monster on my first attempt…' Slowly, a small smile started appearing on his face.
"This actually feels pretty nice…" He murmured to himself. For a second there, Arthur felt like he was on top of the world. Even though his life was at risk, he just felt so… Important. After living a life of mediocrity, this moment made him feel so alive. Perhaps his importance in this hero party was a good
"Arthur! Are you ok?!" Mino called for him, waking the boy up from his trance. Looking down, Arthur saw the group approach the dead wolf. They looked very worried about him since his whole body was covered in blood.
"I'm fine…" Arthur said as he stood up slowly. "He's dead…" With a grin, he replied.
That smile reassured the group as they looked at each other with a smile.
"Hahahaha!! Good job, Arthur!" Boriat laughed as he fell down on his knees.
"You saved me there," Arthur replied.
"No worries! We're a team so we do everything together!"
