The Castile Preschool is a well-known school in country Z, with half of the students coming from wealthy families. The school is located in the center of the city.
The school, which is one of the oldest in country Z, has educated the majority of big shots, actresses, and business tycoons. It is surrounded by a large fence with various types of flowers around it. There was a playground, a sports center, and a small garden.
Sonya arrived at the school driving her latest blue Mercedes Benz.
The children, teachers, and parents present were all in awe of the car. This type of car was very rare and limited edition, so whoever owned it had to be extremely wealthy. They were even more shocked when they saw who owned the car.
Sonya was not fat, but she did have a small amount of flesh. Her face was adorned with a beautiful smile, revealing her dimples. Her gray eyes were enchanting and could captivate anyone who looked into them. She looked like a person carved out of a master piece painting.
As she walked towards the entranc, She was quick to notice the attention she was getting and dashed towards the door, but before she could get there, she discovered the person she was looking for.
Her favorite college teacher's wife. Mrs Ford The woman had always loved her since the day she met her, and the two of them had grown close over the years.
The woman was in her early fifties, and her gray hair was pulled up into a bun on top of her head. Her face was lined with fine wrinkles. When she saw Sonya, her eyes brightened, and she pushed the women standing at the door aside, walking forward towards her.
Sonya chuckled at the woman's energized appearance and ran to hug her, but the older woman appeared to be more excited than she was, as she quickly pulled Sonya in for a bear hug.
She could not contain her excitement and grabbed Sonya's hands, staring at her gorgeous face in adoration.
"You are becoming more beautiful as the years pass, and I am delighted to see you again, Susu!" she exclaimed.
"Thank you, aunt," Sonya said, laughing softly.
People were already moving towards them, and as she looked around, she noticed people trying to take her photo.
"Can we go in, aunt? I am not comfortable with all the attention."
Mrs Ford nodded and took her hand, leading her inside.
She has been the school's headmistress for more than fifteen years. Even before Sonya graduated from university.
The older woman missed Sonya so much that she did not waste any time in updating her on everything that had happened in her absence. They chatted as they walked past the classrooms.
Mrs Ford may appear strict on the outside, but she was a fun person to be around. She bragged about her school achievements and the awards she has received over the years. Without pausing, she asked Sonya a question that almost choked her.
"Do you have a boyfriend right now? When will you get married?"
Sonya coughed. "Aunt!" "I don't want a boyfriend now."
"Why not? Don't tell me you are still waiting for that guy?"
Sonya froze in response to her question, and a fleeting emotion passed through her eyes, but the older woman was too slow to notice.
"No, Aunt. I have moved on. Do not worry, when I get a boyfriend, I will let you know." Sonya sighed dramatically.
"Yes, you should," Mrs Ford nodded. "But if you can not find one, do not worry, I know a bunch of good boys who will cherish you," she ranted.
Sonya rolled her eyes internally; it appeared that everyone wanted her to marry quickly. Her heart ached unconsciously, and a feeling she had carefully suppressed threatened to surface. She noticed her mood shift and quickly returned to her cheerful self.
Mrs Ford had changed the topic and she was very grateful for that. She listened intently to what the woman said as they walked deeper into the school.
This section of the school was dedicated to children with special needs.
Along the way, Sonya's gaze fell on a child in one of the classes, who was sitting by the window with her gaze lowered to her desk.
Her hand was scribbling on her book, and beside her was a record playing a song Sonya was all too familiar with. It was her favorite song back in college, when she was alone.
Her steps came to a halt, and all of her attention was focused on the girl.
"That is Sianna Cole, the youngest member of the Cole family, Louise Cole's daughter; she is five years old," Mrs Ford approached her and informed her, "unfortunately, she has autism."
"She is so adorable and peaceful," Sonya said softly, and Mrs Ford nodded.
She could not take her gaze away from the child, and the urge to approach the girl led her into the classroom. However, her view was obstructed by a woman who was as tall as her.
Sonya's gaze shifted to the woman, and she nearly rolled her eyes. The woman in front of her was an old college friend who had turned traitor. Melody Christian is Mrs Ford's husband's niece.
The girl had once been her best friend, but she betrayed Sonya due to jealousy.
Melody looked stunned when she saw her.
"Hello," Sonya said, waving.
"Why are you here?" She asked, "Shouldn't you be at home or work?"
"You do not seem happy to see me," Sonya pointed out. She cocked her head to one side and shifted her hair slightly.
Melody felt intimidated, despite the fact that Sonya was not doing anything to her.
"Well, I do not have time to talk with you; it is nice to see you, but I have something more important to do," Sonya said as she sidestepped her to meet Sianna.
"The girl does not talk to strangers," Melody said quickly, pulling Sonya's arm.
Sonya turned to look at the arm she was holding, and they both heard Mrs Ford's annoyed words. "What are you doing, Melody? Let her go."
Melody jolted as if she had been electrocuted, releasing Sonya and looking at the door. Mrs Ford stood there with her arms crossed.
"Aunty, you are here. Look, Sonya is trying to approach Sianna, and as you know, the girl dislikes being with strangers," Melody explained.
"I know, just let her do her thing," Mrs Ford said, indifferently.
Right in front of them Sonya knelt beside Sianna, wondering how the child shut out everyone around her. She would later realise that her decision to approach Sianna changed her fate.
Sianna was not completely unaware of what was going on around her; she noticed the woman next to her but did not look up from her drawing. It is a ruse she employs to shoo away anyone who approaches her.
She continued to draw until she became distracted by the song being hummed by the woman beside her. She slowly raised her eyes to meet her gaze, and she was stunned. Sonya's smile was the most beautiful she had seen. It provided a sense of comfort and genuine peace.
Sonya was captivated by Sianna's brilliant blue eyes, which sparkled like gems.
"Hi, my name is Sonya Aquila. It is a pleasure to meet you," Sonya said with a bright smile.
"Hhhf, o come on, she will not speak with you Sonya, and you are bothering us with your presence, so please leave," Melody scoffed.
"You have very expressive and dazzling eyes." "I wonder what your voice will sound like," Sonya whispered. "Will it be like a butterfly's own, as soft as a mountain breeze, like a wave, or...?"
"What does a butterfly's voice sound like?" Sianna cut her off. Her eyes had a curious glint, and her question made Sonya smile brightly.
"It sounds like yours, very melodious," Sonya said. Her hands moved slowly to Sianna's hair, which she stroked gently.
"I am Sianna." Sianna stuttered.
"Yeah, very beautiful name," Sonya said with a chuckle. She looked at Mrs Ford and Melody, who had an unpleasant expression.
Sianna is a child with mild autism who does not communicate with anyone, including strangers. Melody spent two years assisting Sianna. The girl never spoke to her or anyone else during her one year at the school; when she did speak, it appeared that she counted her words or was programmed to say very few words.
Melody was confused because it was the first time she had spoken to a complete stranger. Her expression shifted between shock and confusion.
"Has she recovered? But how? She had been so quiet until a few minutes ago," she murmured.
"Sonya is way different from any doctor I know," Mrs Ford said proudly, "she is full of positive energy, please do not be surprised."
Melody could hear the ridicule in her voice, and she wished the ground would open and swallow her. She heaved and excused herself.
Mrs. Ford ignored her; Sianna and Sonya were in their own world, and their harmony was pleasing to the eye.
