"What do you need from me?" The hoarse voice came from the cloaked figure sitting opposite Rex Violet.
"Information about my disciple." Rex Violet handed over a very valuable gold ticket as payment.
It is unknown how much he has. In fact, the robed figure flinched for a moment when he saw the golden ticket.
"Shouldn't you be able to figure it out yourself with your strength?" The figure didn't understand why Master Rex, who was much stronger than him, needed his help.
Rex Violet sat back casually in a wooden chair while tapping the edge of the table with his fingertips.
He answered as the knocking stopped. "I can't violate causality right now. My power is limited to a certain time. You know the consequences if I violate that causality, right?" Rex Violet then pointed at the figure and himself as he continued, "Neither you nor I will survive, Ei."
The cloaked figure fell silent for a moment, understanding the gravity of the situation. He nodded in agreement to his request, "Alright, I will tell you about your disciple's true identity."
Rex Violet smiled. He looks anticipating the truth. He already had a guess, but it was more fun if he confirmed it.
The cloaked figure finally told only one thing. "He's not from this world."
Rex Violet's smile froze as he understood the meaning of the information. That means his disciple was most likely the messenger he has been waiting for.
The cloaked figure hurriedly explained when he realized the misunderstanding that Rex Violet had. "He's not the messenger."
This time, Master Rex's smile disappeared, replaced by confusion.
"If he wasn't a messenger, how could he be here? That's impossible unless... Ei, did you steal the messenger's body?" Rex Violet stared intently at the cloaked figure in front of him, he would not let this go.
Surprisingly, Master Rex was not as angry as Ei, the cloaked figure, had expected. He had already prepared himself to be exterminated, but he needed to take responsibility for his arbitrary actions.
"He…." Ei couldn't continue his words because he felt the restriction of causality around him. Golden sparks descended on him and covered his mouth.
Rex Violet was irritated by the causality. "I've always wanted to destroy it, but now isn't the time."
Knowing that he couldn't find out any other information, Rex Violet stood up and walked to wards the exit of the vintage-style room. It was the cloaked figure's dimensional space and only those permitted could enter. Of course, Rex Violet doesn't need permission, he can enter any dimensional space.
The cloaked figure couldn't move due to causality restrictions until Rex Violet came out.
---
Rex Violet reappeared somewhere close to one of the towers, which was part of the Tower of Desire.
He muttered, "Not from this world and not a messenger, meaning he's just a puppet that Ei plays with."
For unknown reasons, Rex Violet felt complicated about that truth. Maybe it was because his disciple was interesting and he was starting to pay more attention to him, so he was a little annoyed if Ei played his disciple like his puppet.
As for why he was waiting for the messenger to appear, he didn't want to think about it at the moment due to the influence of causality.
Rex Violet stared into the distance, towards the black tower that penetrated the clouds into the infinite distance. His red and violet eyes watched the river of time flow around the tower. A wave of madness spread around him, but it did not affect him at all.
"Hnm?" Rex Violet tilted his head when he felt the intrusion.
He took out a hand-sized crystal ball, then conjured up a recording taken from the reading room in Crescent Manor. He always placed surveillance in the reading room to detect anomalies and intruders.
He saw the figure of his little disciple enter the room and reach for one of the books. Rex Violet was amazed when his disciple seemed to be able to read the book in his room. The book was written in ancient languages!
It was true that there were several other books written in the common language of this continent, but his disciple had accidentally picked up the wrong book.
Can souls from other worlds read ancient languages? Rex Violet felt doubtful.
He did allow his disciple to read his books, and Finnian's actions were within his expectations, but he didn't expect to see something surprising.
He sped up the recording, feeling something wasn't right. As if things were being controlled by something unknown, the irregularity became more and more obvious.
Finnian, who was supposed to look after his disciple and accompany him to study, just stood outside and didn't bother his disciple at all until lunch time. It passed six hours! How can a child be so abnormal as to read one book for six hours?!
"Heheh, is it Ei's control or is someone controlling it?" Rex Violet was curious.
Then, as he watched his disciple's changes. The color of his disciple's eyes changed again to violet after he suddenly fell and groaned. Rex Violet was silent for a moment, then turned off the recording as if he didn't want to watch anymore.
"This gets a bit complicated." It was unknown what he meant, but he looked displeased.
While waiting until the morning star had half sunk, Rex Violet moved from his position on the side of the cliff that led to the black tower. Then, he jumped off the cliff, descending slowly like a feather towards the depths of the ravine that was the entrance to the tower.
His reddish color and appearance faded the closer he got to the tower, until finally his illusory appearance was revealed.
If Ei, the robed figure, saw him, he wouldn't recognize him. Of course, that was because Rex Violet never revealed his true identity, he only claims to be a guide serving under the highest entity.
When he arrived at the entrance of the black tower, all expressions and emotions were wiped from him. Leaving behind a cold and indifferent feeling from his distinct figure.
He gave off a different, bluish-colored, energy. It spread and seeped into the strange symbols at the entrance of the tower. As if verifying his identity, the tower's entrance glowed, then creaked open.
With steps without hesitation, Rex Violet entered the tower to carry out part of his goal.
