The beggar's tattered clothes made the gate keeper feel astonished. He glanced at the child's thin and scarred body, then at the pair of violet eyes that looked at him expectantly.
The gatekeeper finally stopped doubting his eyes and crouched down, asking in a cautious tone at the pitiful looking child, "Kid, are you from another Sanctuary?"
He couldn't think of any other reason than that the child escaped from another Sanctuary and arrived here. Apart from what appeared on the surface, some people like him knew the undercurrent that not all Sanctuary treated survivors well.
