Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Induction

Apathy held the ornate card in his trembling hand, its surface adorned with an emblem that seemed to shimmer with an otherworldly radiance. As he examined it closely, he noticed an address inscribed in elegant script—his destination. It was the place where the man's colleague awaited him.

With the card clenched tightly in his fist, Apathy embarked on a journey through the rain-soaked city streets, following the address. His footsteps echoed on the slick pavement, a rhythmic reminder of his determination to uncover the enigmatic mysteries that had entangled his life.

The address led him to an inconspicuous building nestled among the towering structures of Newhaven. It was unassuming and easily missed by those who didn't possess the ability to perceive the hidden realms. Apathy hesitated at the entrance, the weight of uncertainty pressing upon him.

Stepping through the threshold, he was met with a stunning sight. The interior of the building was an opulent haven, its grandeur in stark contrast to the city's dilapidated exterior. The walls bore intricate carvings and enigmatic symbols, and the air was charged with a palpable sense of power.

Apathy's gaze was drawn to a woman who stood at the heart of this remarkable place. She was as beautiful as he had ever been, her presence exuding an ethereal elegance that was nothing short of mesmerizing. Her eyes, like twin pools of mystery, held a depth of knowledge that seemed to pierce into Apathy's soul.

"Welcome, Apathy," the woman said, her voice a symphony of grace. "I am Sylara, and I have been waiting for you."

Apathy felt a strange sense of belonging from Sylara as she spoke his name, as though she had known him long before their paths had crossed. His curiosity outweighed any trepidation he felt, and he responded with a sense of certainty.

"I've been searching for answers," Apathy confessed, his voice revealing a longing for the truth that had eluded him. "Why have I been chosen? What is this place, and what do you know about the tower?"

Sylara's eyes held a kindness that softened the mysterious aura that surrounded her. She extended a hand towards Apathy, beckoning him to step closer.

"All your questions will be answered in time," she assured him. "But first, you must undergo the induction. It is the path that will lead you into the tower, a place where the secrets of your soul energy and the tower's power will be revealed."

As Apathy followed Sylara deeper into the building, the enigmatic symbols on the walls seemed to shimmer with a newfound brilliance. The tower had many layers, and with each step he took, Apathy ventured further into the heart of the enigma that had consumed his life.

turns out as they walked through the corridor of the building Sylara explained soul energy and how bonds with higher beings induct one into the above world (literally) society the clanging of metal suddenly rang through Apathy's ears as he walked through the corridor. "the induction is actually a test to see if you are worthy to go to the soul sanctum academy. For people like you who have recently made their bonds. Although you are lucky as you have made your bond at the same time as the main families so everyone should be the same age as you, if you get in of course."
