The following morning, Apathy awoke in his room at the academy. The tranquillity of the dormitory provided a welcome contrast to the turmoil of the outside world. The academy offered a haven of peace, and Apathy was determined to make the most of it.
As he prepared to start his day, the academy's grandeur enveloped him once again. The architecture was a testament to the depth of soul energy that permeated every corner of the academy, and Apathy couldn't help but be captivated by it.
After a brief visit to the courtyard, Apathy was greeted by Sylara, who had arrived to guide him through his morning routine. She led him to a distinctive building on the academy grounds, where a room filled with uniforms awaited.
Apathy's eyes widened as he took in the sight. The uniforms were not mere garments; they were intricate creations of soul-infused fabric. Each uniform consisted of a tailored jacket, pants, and a matching undershirt. The primary color was deep indigo, adorned with silver threads that formed intricate patterns. Apathy could feel the power within the fabric, as if it were alive with energy.
Sylara handed Apathy the uniform, and he couldn't help but run his fingers over the material. It felt soft and light, yet he sensed the immense potential it held. As he changed into the uniform, he could feel a subtle shift in his connection to his own soul energy.
Once dressed, Apathy rejoined Sylara, who was also clad in the same indigo uniform. Her presence, as always, seemed to carry a sense of ancient wisdom.
"The uniform you wear is more than attire," Sylara explained as they walked through the academy's corridors. "It is infused with soul energy, enhancing your abilities and offering protection. It's a reflection of your rank within the academy."
Apathy glanced down at his attire, recognizing that the uniform was more than a symbol. "Rank? What do you mean?"
Sylara gestured to a silver emblem on the lapel of Apathy's jacket, a mark that resembled a stylized tree. "This emblem signifies your rank as a Keeper-grade soul user. The academy has four main grades: Sovereign, Monarch, Keeper, and Bond. Each grade represents a different level of mastery over one's soul energy and a corresponding responsibility within the academy."
Apathy absorbed the information, realizing that the emblem on his uniform was more than a decorative element—it was a symbol of his standing within the academy.
Sylara then turned her attention to a crucial piece of equipment. She handed Apathy the intricate watch she had given him the previous evening.
"This watch," she explained, "is more than a timekeeping device. It is a tool that connects to your soul energy and serves as a window to your abilities and status within the academy. To activate it, simply touch the watch face and concentrate on your intention."
Apathy followed Sylara's instructions, touching the watch face and focusing on the desire to activate it. As he did, the watch's surface shimmered with ethereal energy before displaying a holographic interface.
The watch revealed several key elements:
Status: A holographic display showed Apathy's physical and mental condition, including any injuries or fatigue.
Abilities: A section displayed a list of his known abilities and their respective levels of mastery.
Soul Items: A submenu allowed Apathy to access information on any soul items he possessed, as well as their status and capabilities.
Rank: The emblem of the Keeper-grade soul user was prominently displayed, accompanied by a brief description of the responsibilities and privileges associated with that rank.
Apathy was in awe of the watch's capabilities. It provided him with vital information about his own status and abilities, helping him to navigate the challenges that lay ahead. It was a tool of empowerment, a connection to the depths of his soul energy.
With this Apathy set off to find out what lessons he had at the academy after a while of walking he realised he was lost. :) just as he realised he was lost he noticed a beautiful noise coming from a nearby room and preceded to open the door as if hypnotised as the door opened he came face to face with Liora
"ah... hello"
apathy stood there his face plain "sorry I'm kinda lost so would you mind telling me where the board with the timetables are?"
"ah oh the timetables are at the front gate of the academy"
"ok thanks." Apathy then turned to leave exiting the room after he exited Liora murmured to herself
"his face is like a porcelain mask, pale and unyielding, as if it were carved from alabaster. With an unnatural pallor that seems to drain away any trace of life. The eyes are the most unsettling feature, void of any emotion, their gaze fixed in an unbroken, unwavering stare. They are empty, like twin obsidian balls, reflecting nothing but an unsettling void.
The lips are thin and colourless, forming a straight line devoid of any curvature that might hint at a smile or a frown. They are eternally sealed, revealing nothing of the thoughts or feelings within. The absence of expression extends to the rest of the face, with no raised eyebrows, furrowed brows, or even a hint of wrinkled skin to convey the subtlest of human emotions.
This emotionless countenance is not just devoid of feeling but seems to repel the very essence of life, casting an eerie and unsettling aura. It's a face that lingers in the memory, an embodiment of emptiness that invokes an uncanny discomfort when looked upon. I hope we don't meet again otherwise I might.... never mind"
