Bude City, where the city walls are simply mounds of accumulated snow and ice, seemed as normal as usual. Fur-clad merchants peddled their goods, adventurers brandished their weapons, ordinary folk went about their work, and soldiers patrolled the city walls and streets... peace reigned, until the ground began to shake.
Boom – rumble –.
From where humans in the city could not see, a stretch of white fog extending nearly ten kilometers was spreading towards their city. Wherever it passed, the ground crumbled, glaciers collapsed, and the various creatures that inhabit the frozen plains – wolves, rats, snakes, rabbits – all fled in a panic.
Any creature touched by the fog would quickly freeze into an ice sculpture, unable to withstand the piercing cold, even though they were born to survive in snowy conditions.
