"Evan, sorry to trouble you again..."
Sitting in Evan Willow's car, Amanda Smith was overwhelmed with embarrassment.
The man sitting beside her had classic, delicate features, with long hair flowing straight down his back. He was dressed in a black, gold-embroidered Tang suit—the stern color unable to conceal the gentle and jade-like quality of his demeanor.
Hearing Amanda's words, Evan Willow gave a slight smile, "Amanda, why speak so formally with me?" He looked closely at Amanda's face, his eyes flickering, and asked, "But what brings you to this road?"
He knew that Amanda always took the subway to work. To find her on such a deserted road was beyond his imagination.
Amanda bit her lip gently and shook her head, trying to downplay the matter, "It's just my own foolishness... and now I've even dragged you into giving me a lift."
She omitted some details, but Evan Willow could pretty much guess the whole story.
