"Aren't there wolves in the mountains, as you guys said?"
Zhou SiLang feigned confusion, "Yes, there are wolves in the mountains, but not necessarily in every mountain. The trees over there aren't very dense. Wolves probably don't like going there. There are quite a few bees though, just be careful not to bump into any beehives, or getting stung will be miserable."
Ms. Fang didn't join in the excitement and stood at the doorway watching them, one big and one small, walk away until they were out of sight, then she went back to the kitchen to work.
Today was her turn to make dinner.
When Zhou SiLang and Manbao reached the foot of the mountains, silence surrounded them. Other than the songs of birds and the hum of insects, there wasn't a soul in sight.
Of course, there was no one around. It was almost time for dinner, after all. At this hour, people were either busy in the fields or at home waiting to eat. Who would have nothing better to do than run up to the mountain?
