In a slightly dark alleyway with minimal lights peering in despite the blazing sun; a six-foot circle appeared out of nowhere and from it, a black-haired, black-eyed teenager came through with a smile of happiness.
"It worked" Arthur was quite happy with himself after succeeding in using Gate.
After his lengthy conversation with Uncle Ern, Arthur had wanted to visit Quan, Ren, Jiang, and Leo at the barracks, but unfortunately, they had duties to attend to.
Which made sense with them being soldiers and all.
But something inside of him was telling him if he wished to go sightseeing with them, Uncle Ern would probably let them off for the day.
However, Arthur already felt bad for sleeping rent-free in someone's home.
Therefore, Arthur decided to venture alone for once.
With his perfect memory, he had remembered an alley in the Commoner's District that was perfect to use Gate in to not alarm anyone.
As for Teleport, he didn't want to become part of a wall.
After walking out of the alley, Arthur was basically walking around randomly taking in the fantasy nature while trying to not mind the finger-pointing.
He had first thought everyone was staring at him due to him acting like a country bumpkin but soon he realized that it was because he was the only Human or more accurately the only other race except Vampire walking around.
With such a glaring fact, Arthur chuckled to himself at the fact that the Kingdom was truly named aptly.
He didn't face discrimination, but the occasional finger-pointing from children before being reprimanded by their parents did embarrass him slightly.
But Arthur didn't mind; he could understand they were just not used to seeing a human and continued looking around.
The medieval-style buildings that he had seen in Durank City seemed to be prevalent in the Heartfilia Royal Capital as well.
It made him realize that in terms of architecture, this world was not as advanced as his previous world.
After walking around aimlessly for ten minutes with nothing catching Arthur's eyes, a small one-story rundown building which he almost walked past caught his interest.
If not for the fact that all of the other buildings looked as if they were new he wouldn't have stopped to look.
It was truly an unassuming one-story building, the building looked damaged, the sign with the name of the building was hanging on by the smallest of threads.
If Arthur didn't tilt his head sideways he would have never been able to make out the name Remon's Bookstore.
"Remon? Is that the Owner's name?" Arthur thought as he pushed the door open and walked in with great interest.
As an avid novel reader, how can he not get excited?
Though he can now experience a fantasy world, reading had been part of him for too long.
Novels hold a magic of their own.
Unfortunately, Arthur felt a bucket of cold water being poured on him when he took a look at the names of the books.
Home Furnishing Volume 1-12
Beginner's Guide To Carpentry
Basics Of Swordsmanship
Basics Of Spearmanship
Power System Of The Various Known Races
====================================
After looking through all the books, Arthur felt even more dejected than previously.
He can understand if there aren't any fantasy novels, but how can you have volume two of Home Furnishing, yet not have volume one?
Not that he would have bought it in the first place.
With a dejected heart and two thick tomes, Arthur went to pay.
How did he get the money?
After all, he had basically stopped a war from breaking out between the two largest countries in Gaia Continent, the Vampire Kingdom and the Dragon Empire.
If the money was a reward for saving Scarlet from Uncle Edward, Uncle Ern, Aunt Lynn, and Aunt Elaine he would not take it.
Him saving Scarlet wasn't for a reward.
But if the money was from the Dragon Empire, he saw no reason not to take it.
Though the Dragon Empire's armor and weaponry were still with his Uncle's; Uncle Ern had given him one hundred Copper coins, one hundred Bronze coins, and one hundred Silver coins.
Most of which were in his room.
He can't possibly carry that many coins.
At first Arthur tried to refuse, but Uncle Ern said when he receives his share of the reward, he can give him the money back.
Anyway, the first book was Power System Of The Various Known Races.
The second book which he was quite happy with was named Encyclopedia Of Known Blessed Spells.
From Scarlet he had learned that magical spells can only be learned from magical scrolls.
As for Blessed Spells like his Haste, Boost, Elemental Resistance, and Mana Drain they can not be learned even if they were written down with clear instructions, due to the fact that only those who are born with a Blessed Spell may use it, with no exceptions.
Until he showed up into the world that is.
Apparently, as long as he knows the Spell's name and its effect he can replicate it with ease.
After paying forty copper coins, Arthur walked out with a slight smile.
How could he not be happy?
Twenty-Five Copper coins for the Power System Of The Various Known Races.
Most importantly fifteen Copper coins for a gigantic tomb full of Blessed Spells.
Granted, the Blessed Spells can only be replicated by him, so it made sense why it was worth only fifteen Copper coins.
And that wasn't the main reason why he was so happy.
Within the library, he had come across a book with the title Beginner's Guide On Adventuring.
After flipping through a few pages, he learned that the most prevalent organization within all fantasy adventure novels, an Adventurer's Guild, existed within this world.
And that was exactly where he was heading.
Despite a few pointing children who were just curious to see a different skin-toned person, he received no discrimination.
In fact, the few people he asked for directions were all nice and accommodating.
