Mr. DelaRoy was still in the operating room when Cali and Susie arrived at the Hospital. They are ushered into the private suite where Mrs. DelaRoy and her two sons await.
The room is enveloped in a gloomy hush at the moment. Mrs. DelaRoy maintains her customary poise while relaxing on a grey sofa, with her back and shoulders aligned straight. Her emerald eyes are quite perceptive, yet they don't reveal a thing about what's happening in her head.
Cali is seated in the far corner of the room with Susie when she catches a glimpse of Anderson and gives him a sweet smile intended to be as reassuring as possible. Weakly, with worry written all over his face, he grins back.
Suddenly, Anthony gets up from the sofa and walks back and forth across the room. He appears to be frustrated.
"The operation ought to have been finished by now. Why has no one come to us yet? Do they not recognize both our family and our father?" He yells furiously.
