"It's not possible. And what exactly do you mean by you wanting me to quit?" Cali inquires without malice.
"Because doing business with my father is difficult and possibly dangerous."
"Are you just as dangerous as him?" Nik enjoyed her witty comments.
"Much more dangerous than you could imagine."
"I have no fear of potential harm. I am capable of looking after myself. In addition to that, she is determined.
Nik is aware that he is wasting his time trying to convince her to quit her job at this time. She needs to gain the awareness to recognize the threats in her environment. However, before she completely understands the situation, He must prevent anything wrong from happening to her. It is essential for him that she be not harmed in any way. He will personally make sure that everything is in order.
"Promise me that you will give what I've said some thought. I'm here to aid in your employment search.
Cali is reluctant before responding, "Okay, I'll think about it."
Nik, who is beginning to feel more at ease, makes the decision to change the subject and concentrate instead on enjoying the Cali's company. The remainder of the evening is spent savoring the delectable cuisine and Cali's charming smile, both as intoxicating as the wine. Nik has the itching sensation once more. He is looking for more.
Despite Cali's assertion that she can get there by taking the subway, Nik continues to drive her home. However, when they go to the address that Cali claims to be her residence, Nik understands why Cali does not want him to drive her home. In eastern Brooklyn, there is a neighborhood that has seen better days. This neighborhood has a well-deserved reputation for having substandard utilities and a high percentage of criminal activity. He must get her out of this place.
Cali finally stops at the entrance to the flat, and as she does so, she turns to Nik and says, "Thank you for both the dinner and the drive. I really enjoy the night."
She gazes expectantly up at him, her eyes glistening with excitement like a tempting goddess. Nik is not yet prepared to say his goodbyes. He forces her up against the wall and bites down on her lips in an aggressive manner. Cali's eyes close involuntarily as his bulge grinds against her delicate body, his hard erection pinching her tummy.
"You smell and taste so good," Nik utters in the pause between kisses. His hands rush to Cali's round butt, which has a perky roundness, and begin to shape the flesh. The sharp edge of his shaft gratingly rubs against her pelvis. As a form of answer, Cali mutters against his lips. Nik intensifies their kiss, his tongue pressing against hers with an urgent and demanding touch. It's almost as if he won't make it through the night if he doesn't do it.
Until Nik has to stop so, they can take a deep breath. Cali is taking short, rapid breaths. Her eyes shine brightly. Nik's fingers lightly brushed against her puckered and kissed lips. What a seductive sight it is!
Their intimate moment together is cut short as Cali answers the phone and takes a call. "I'm afraid I can't stay. My brother was concerned that I had been in some kind of incident. She gives him a warm grin, revealing her well-kissed and plump lips.
"Good night, Cali," Nik said.
"Good night, Nik," Cali replied.
The corridor of the apartment complex is the last place Nik's eyes look before Cali exits the building. After that, he gets in his car and drives back to his house.
While he is driving home, he can't help but think about the moment they shared together. Cali continues to shock him in a variety of ways. She is not vain or pretentious like some of the other girls he has met, which is refreshing. She does not feel shame in confessing that she had never eaten in a French restaurant before. When it comes to expressing her emotions, she is not as reserved as he had anticipated she would be.
When Nik goes home, the big penthouse looks empty for the first time since he became an adult. He longs for Cali to share his bed in this room with him. When he thinks about their kisses, he becomes harsh once more.
"Fuck," he sarcastically mutters to himself.
However, the most important point is that he cannot allow his penis to govern his thinking. He feels obligated to discover the reason behind his father's hasty decision to hire Cali. His intuition tells him that they must have met in the past and become acquainted with one another. But when did they first come into contact with one another, and why does Cali lie to him? The sooner he learns the information, the sooner he can devise a strategy to better safeguard her.
He then contacts Jack's telephone and tells him, "Get me all the information you could find about Cali."
"Yes, sir. Do we plan to sway her opinion and get her on our team?
"She is not on the side of anyone. She is not allowed to get involved in the dispute that is going on in the family."
"I see what you mean."
"I also need you to locate an apartment for Cali in a secure neighborhood. She must get out of there. Take a subtle approach to it. I don't want her to take offense to what I've said."
"I see what you mean, boss. I will see to it that it gets done."

"It is 12. You've never arrived home quite so late before. I hope your first day went well. They aren't trying to make your life more difficult, are they?" Ken approaches her anxiously in the cramped living space that serves as a makeshift living room.
"Don't be concerned. There are no problems to report at work. Just now, I went out to dinner with a good friend.
"A companion? To my knowledge, you have never mentioned any of your other friends in our conversations. Is this a new acquaintance that you've made through your new job?
"Yes, a colleague." Cali makes the decision to deceive her brother. She is at a loss for words when attempting to explain her relationship with Nik. Are they on good terms? Or do they consist of something else entirely?
"Cali, listen to me. It is not at all desirable for you to work for Mr. DelaRoy. Even if he has assisted us multiple times, I cannot trust him. Today, I had a conversation with a new ghostwriting agency. They appreciate my writing ability. They are prepared to make an offer of fifteen dollars for each page. I can earn extra money. You can return to your previous position. I don't want us to have any kind of relationship with these scumbags who are corrupted by their wealth." Ken clenched his teeth and scowled.
It has been eight years since Cali made a promise to Mr. DelaRoy, but Ken needs to be made aware of it. In point of fact, Cali is the only person who is aware of this truth. She couldn't go back on her word. And they desperately need the income that her new work will bring in.
"Ken, your health hinders writing. Do we really require the funds to pay the rent, the bills, and the other obligations to Mrs. Hanley? And I want a better life overall, with a nicer place to live. I can't stand how our landlady always gets in my face about our overdue rent payments." Cali is on the verge of shedding a tear. Daily living pressures have worn her to the point of exhaustion.
Ken is moved by Cali's begging tone. "Good enough. However, if they misbehave towards you at any point, you are to resign immediately." Cali acknowledges her brother with a nod.
Cali relaxes on her bed after showering, reflecting on the intense kiss she shared with Nik earlier. Even just thinking about it sends a current of electricity through her body. She enjoyed the way that he kissed her and the way that he touched her. She has no idea that a simple kiss can bring such delight. It's almost as if she had never experienced being kissed before. The aggressive manner in which he grinds his manhood against her causes another flutter in her tummy. She thinks about how she would feel if he were inside her.
She exclaims, "Oh, God," followed by a sigh of exasperation. If she keeps thinking about Nik, she is not going to be able to fall or stay asleep.
The realization hits her that she has a minimal understanding of Nik. How he discussed his late mother inspired curiosity inside her over the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Cali gets her phone out of her pocket and turns on the bedside lamp before searching for Nik online. She visits his Wikipedia page and is distressed by the information that she reads there.
When Nik's mother passed away, he was still a very young child. He's just eight years old at this point. An age that is too young to cope with the reality of death. One month after the burial, his father, Mr. DelaRoy, wed the woman who is now his wife. Cali is stunned by how quickly it all happened. Was Nik treated well by Mrs. DelaRoy? Cali has significant reservations about this after her brief exchange with the other woman. Nik is entirely absent from the photograph of the family. How did he spend his youth? Was there anyone else outside his mother who loved and cared for him the same way a mother would?
What kind of relationship does he have with his father? He issued a stern warning to her about how dangerous his father was. Is Nik fortunate to have Mr. DelaRoy as his father? Cali has a feeling that it is not. What kind of parent would allow his oldest child to be missing from the family's photo wall?
After that, Cali sees images of him with various women, including pictures of him kissing or holding hands with multiple people. Everyone is a blond beauty with incredible breasts, long legs, and height. Some of them are stunning models featured in magazines like Vogue and Glamour, and some are gorgeous actors who are well-known to the general public. Cali is nothing more than an average Jane with an average physique compared to them.
Cali finally gets what Rene meant when she says Nik changes his type. She is not his ideal partner. What exactly does Nik admire about her? Does he even have feelings for her? Or is it simply sexual desire?
Cali knows she will not have a restful night of sleep tonight.
