The Heavenly Demon paused for a second and then left, as if he hadn't heard anything. Zeke didn't care much; he had done his job by warning him.
A week passed, and Wanderer, who had left to procure the targets, returned. During that time, he had ensured that everything was taken care of. The Cult would function exactly as he intended, even if he wasn't there.
He didn't have to do much because even the Heavenly Demons of the past were rarely personally involved in the workings of the Cult. They delegated the work to the Demon Monarchs under them, who took care of it. This gave Zeke the time to focus on research.
Right now, Zeke was standing in a room covered in formations. In front of him were ten…plants. The targets were not people; they were plants. Zeke had sent a Demon Monarch, one of the top powerhouses in all of Murim, to get plants. That's how important this experiment was to him.
