"Okay, okay, wait..." Ares breathed heavily, running his fingers through his hair as he turned away from Thea and Lysander, who had just revealed everything Atlan had learned from Galen.
But one thought continued to whirl in his head: his baby's sister's life hung by a thread.
"I have to go back. Maybe I can do something." He snapped his head towards Thea, who slowly shook her head, her eyes downcast.
"She can't be saved, Ares. I've tried everything. She only has twenty-four hours left to live," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Ares gritted his teeth and glared at Lysander, who responded with a nonchalant shrug. "There's really nothing you can do, Erebus. Returning to the castle will mean war, since there's a hundred percent chance that Azrael might be there."
"And my mother?" Ares asked sharply, his breathing heavy. "Has anyone seen my mother?"
