Eleanor's eyes widened as she took in the rich spread of food before her. She slipped into her seat at the far end of the grand oak table, helping herself to the delectable dishes with a delighted smile.
Her attention shifted to Ares, who had claimed the impressive, ornate chair reserved for the king.
She raised an eyebrow, amused, as he seemed lost in thought. "Are you going to join me in this feast, or just stare into space?"
Ares raised an eyebrow, his eyes listless. "I've already tested the food, it's safe."
"Oh?" Eleanor's eyes widened in surprise. He had zero trust issues with anyone in the castle... Especially when it came to her safety. "But what if this delicious spread was actually a poisonous trap?"
Ares shrugged nonchalantly, "Oh well, I'll cross that bridge if it comes to it."
Eleanor scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I don't want to become a widow so soon."
