Eleanor's eyes snapped wide with alarm. She gingerly returned the cup to its saucer, looking at the brown tea that looked perfectly ordinary. The aroma wafting from the cup was unchanged, offering no hint of anything amiss.
She turned to Iris, who was now staring at her with a worried expression. "How do you know the tea is poisoned?"
"I didn't make brown tea." Iris forced a smile, "I prepared green tea myself and left it to fetch a book from the library."
Eleanor nodded thoughtfully. "You mentioned Ares was supposed to join you,"
Iris's eyes flashed with a jolt of realization. The little vampire's face fell as she rose from her seat, her book clutched in her hand. "They're trying to kill Erebus... and I almost served him the poisoned tea. I.. I..."
