Sofia Hamilton wept and laughed at the same time, her cry playful as she said, "Mom, how can you say that? Don't you think I've gotten prettier?"
Upon hearing this, her mother laughed through her tears, tenderly holding her daughter's cheeks, "You are prettier, but you've also become thinner."
As she spoke, she couldn't help but well up with tears, her voice choked with emotion, "It's all my fault for being useless, making you go out to earn money for my eye treatment. Seeing how tired you've become, even your chin has gotten sharper. If your father were here, he would certainly blame me for not taking good care of you."
