Opening an eye into an unfamiliar room, I think I would have freaked out if it weren't for the smell of pancakes. My FAVORITE breakfast food!! I hurriedly got out of bed and into the shower. Turns out, when you pack for more then a few nights, you should pack shampoo and condition. Thankfully there was some already there. The shower was a bit small though, my arms outstretched could touch the stone walls. They were eerily cool to the touch. Thankfully the water was hot enough for what I'm used to. I tried to hurry and get out. I walked over to my wooden bed where I laid my clothes for the day. A simple black short sleeve shirt and some shorts. "That should do." I spoke to myself.
Leaving the room to the small stairs that led to the living room I noticed there was family pictures hanging on the wall. Some I imagined was baby Tel. 'He looked so funky as a kid' I thought. Following my nose to pancakes I sat down at the kitchm table. It wasn't to big, couldn't fit more then four people, but it felt like it belonged. Tel was the first to say any words "How did you sleep Raven?" "I slept fairly well considering it's not what I'm used to." I replied. "That's good, you will need all the sleep you cam get. How many pancakes may I intrest you in?" He asked. Tel looked as if he had been awake for hours. His long hair put into a neat ponytail, his brown eyes full of life, even his attitude showed it. Tel coughed as to remind me of his question. I had been staring at him the entire time, that can not give the right impression. "I will take two if that is okay." I hurriedly answered. Like he was laughing through his words Tel teased " It's not nice to stare at people, incase you aren't aware. Even if they happen to be half as good looking as me. Sorry Miss.Raven, I didn't think my words out." I bursted out laughing " I couldn't help it" I giggled. Tel quickly handed me my pancakes and left. Beforehand he told me to get ready to start training and meet him at the front door
After around twenty minutes or so I finished eating and started walking towards the door. I saw Tel standing in the frame. He was wearing a new outfit compared to last time. All black long sleeve shirt and pants. It looked like tacticle gear, at least how I've heard it. "What are you wearing all… that for?" I inquired. He simply answered, "For our training, did you forget Raven?" "No! No, I didn't forget, it's just a bit, unusual I think is the word to see these types of outfits." Before I finished my words he interrupted, "You will have your own before the end of training. You just might not pull it off as well." The last part made me chuckle. Tel continued, "Let us get this started." With that we walked out the door and onto the path way.
It took around twenty five minutes or so for us to arrive at the training grounds, that's at least what Tel called it. It was just sand on the ground and a few logs standing up. Nothing too important to me. As usual, Tel spoke the first sentences, "This is it. We will start with some basic tools and weapons and advance to more serious ones. See how you do. Today will be all about hand to hand combat and weaponry. Your first weapon is going to be a dagger. Does that sound alright Raven?" A dagger? The small pointy thing? Such a weird object. "If it is what you think is best Tel." This is a surreal experience. He handed me two small daggers and showed me how to hold them correctly. After I got the position and handling right I was instructed to use them on the wood over and over again. My arms started aching and I started loosing some feeling almost. That's when Tel decided it was time for us to have a sparring match. We both used two daggers, it took us around ten minutes before I started being able to damage Tel. My arms and legs were bloody, I was exhausted, and it wasn't even noon yet. Eventually I started becoming good with, Tel decided it was time to move on the the next weapon. The process repeated more then ten times with different weapons.
"You learn fast Raven, amd you can put up one hell of a fight when you want, but we have to on your strength. So let's get home eat some dinner and do some workouts. Does that sound good to you?" Tel asked. I responded, "Do I really have a choice? My body is aching can't we call it a day?" "No can do, we have to be at our top best for when our week is up." This is awful. I can't even take a break. I'm more bloody and bruised then a valent
We started walking back to Tel's home. It seemed like it took longer this time than the first.
"What would you like to eat?" He questioned. "I could go for a steak, if you have it Tel." Looking offended he cut be off saying "Wow, hurtful. Obviously we have steak, what kind of savagery do you think this is?" Rolling my eyes I retorted "Clearly not one that can cook fast enough." I miss my chefs cooking. It was the best in the world. She made all of the best things with a flick of the wrist. Returning back to the conversation "Do you have any water?" Tel nodded his head and pointed to the fridge. We finished up dinner and left to the "at home gym."
He made me work on every part of my body, even my balance, until my muscles gave out and the sun set. Finally I was able to go back to my room. I went to the bathroom and into the tub to soak. The giant tub made of cast iron felt astounding against my body. I was able to clean all of my wounds. Thankfully they all healed fast, they we're almost completely closed. I climbed out of the bath and into a pair of satin pajamas. I finally went into bed. As soon as I closed my eyes, slumber took over.
