Chapter 4 - Nightmare With Training

I couldn't stop running, no matter what, even with my legs aching my breathing hitched. I looked all around for a place I could escape to, there was none as far as the eye could see. I let my legs carry me until they gave out. Falling to the ground, it had not been three seconds yet, a hot air was shot behind my neck. Before I could get back up two claw hands wrapped around my arms, burning into my skin. "NO, NO, NO GET AWAY STOP! STOP!" Screaming hoping there was some humanity left in the mutant. Nothing worked. It picked me up, higher then the sky could go, soared for miles it had to have been. "Why am I here!! How did I get here! I want to go home, I want to go home!" Then, the monster released me. Panicking I shouted "HELP ME HELP PLEASE" "Raven! Miss.Raven! Hello? Wake up. Come one wake up!" Tel screamed into my ear. I jolted up into bed. I could feel tears running down my cheeks and my arms burnt. "It is okay, Raven, it was a simple nightmare. You are okay now." He assured. Although Tel looked like he had been the one with the nightmare instead of me, his face was all sweaty, the look of terror written all across him. I crawled over to Tel, I only wanted to be with my mother to be held. He put his arm over my shoulder and squeezed lightly. "It is okay Raven. I promise. How about some breakfast? Does pancakes and sausage on a stick sound okay to you?" Tel asked. "Yes, yes, that sounds delicious." I choked.

Finally getting dressed and out of bed, I made my way to the kitchen. I could smell the syrup from all the way up stairs. My plate sat in the same place it was the day before. "How are you feeling now? After the, you know?" Tel questioned. "Better, I think. I am not sure exactly what happened, but I did not like it." Which was a simple reply. It wasn't a lie, persay. I really don't know what happened. A flash of blurry images is all, yet my arms still hurt though. Tel interrupted my train of thought, like usual, "That is okay. It might be for the best. I hate to do this, but, once your are done eating we will have to train again." I hate that word, 'train'. "Fine Tel." I finally got the words out.

Walking into the bathing room I stopped to put my hair up. Yesterday my hair seemed to be problematic. I threw my head down and tried to gather all that I could. I had to wrap it around four times to get into a bun that shouldn't come out. I wish I could change the color of it. It always reminds me of my mothers, how her "perfect" white hair could catch anyone's attention. It didn't matter what style she would have it in, everyone engrossed by it. When trying to fix it I noticed something on my arms. A fairly big red mark im the shape or claws. 'That's… that's what it was in my nightmare. How can that be??' My mind started racing wall to wall. "Try and hurry Raven, we haven't have all day your 'highness'" Tel joked. I left as fast as I could and darted down the stairs. "I apologize for taking a while." The words fell out my mouth. "You are okay, your hair looks better this way. Truly a smarter decision for what we have in store for today." I think that was a compliment on it's own.

We couldn't have been more then seven minutes from the house before getting stopped by a seemingly nice older couple. "Hi!" The lady announced. "I don't believe I have met you before? I am Mrs.FlosCura, and this is my husband Mr.FlosCura." She continued. Everyone here has such unique names. With a smile I replied,"No, you haven't. I am Raven, it is very nice to meet you." "Why didn't you tell us you have a new friend Tel! She seems very sweet. It is nice to meet you too Raven. I am sorry for the rush but we must go. Have a splendid day you two!" With that they were hurried off. "That was strange…" Before I could continue Tel cut me off, "That is how everyone here is." Such a strange town. No one at home would even talk to one another.

Tel and I finally arrived at the training grounds. By the look of the sun I would assume it's around eight-thirty. We stopped directly in the middle. He started babbling, "I hope you are full of energy, you will need it today." "I always am." I retorted.

After around three hours of practice with various weapons we were able to take a break. "I know this is a lot Raven, but we have to. You can't go into this without experience." Tel insisted. "You keep saying that. What will I be facing? Hm? You have never said exactly what I am training for other them to search for materials." Pressing until he answered. "Do you really want to know?" Tel countered . "Yes. I do." I spoke with full confidence. "You are Training to fight. All of those monster and tales you have heard stories of? Them, we will be faced with them. You will have to fight them. It will be kill or get killed out there. Some capable of ripping your heart out if it chooses. Others with deceiving looks that will trick your mind. We will have to steal from royalty with thousands of skilled gaurds. That is what we are facing. So all of this training we are doing, is to safe your life and all of these people. Tomorrow you will be learning about what to expect out there and how to survive." Tel explained holding my gaze throughout the entire thing. I couldn't think of what to say. Fighting? Sneaking? All of this in less then a week? The only words I knew, "Oh. I see." "So yes, you will be training. You will be learning. You will get all of this and be amazing out there. So stop trying to argue and finish the work.

The rest of the lesson was again practicing with more weapons trying to advance my skill on each one. We did it all in silence. Even the walk home. Tel told me we would do the gym double tomorrow. I was too exhausted to care. I skipped dinner and walked to my room. I fell right into my bed. Closing my eyes for a second, I couldn't open them again.
