Third Person POV
They headed to the basement to see the doctor that was responsible for monitoring Papa's health, the doctor that supposedly was the who sent the fake doc to kill Papa.

The door to his cell was opened by one of the guards that were standing outside it.
"Young miss, what is this all about?" The doc asked when he saw her entering. "Papa won't like how you're treating his doctor." He tried to act tough.
"What are you taking us for? Fools!" Exclaimed Emma calmly, way too calm for anybody's liking.
"W- what do you mean?" His voice wavered unconsciously when he studied her body language.
"Are you trying to tell me that you didn't know of the attack on Papa when all the damn country knew of it!" She said while studying his reaction.
"Of course I know of it, but what I'm asking about is why you brought me to the basement where suspects are held?" The doc voiced his thoughts. "You don't think I'm one of them, do you?" He added.
"I don't know, are you?" Emma shrugged nonchalantly.
"I-"
"Enough of this fruitless conversation." Emma cut him off then she turned to Müller before nodding her head.
Müller advanced towards the doctor and started tying him on the chair.
When he was done, Emma stood up from her chair and walked to him. "Now you're going to tell me where that boss of yours is or I'm gonna make sure you know who you've messed with." She said in his ear while leaning into him, both her hands on each edge of the arm of the chair right next to his.
"I didn't know Sam was planning against the Family, I hired him because I found him pitiful. His son was in dire need of an operation and he had no money to even hospitalise him." The doctor explained. "I would never conspire against Papa. I would never bite the hand that fetched me up from slums and made me who I am today." He said genuinely.
"You see Robert, even though I do believe you, you still have to be punished for letting someone close enough to attempt a murder on Papa. You of all people should know that pity in a world like ours is never good, when you pity someone make sure you thoroughly investigated him, make sure to keep an eye on him until the day he dies because pitiful people are the most dangerous." She told him.
It was true. In the mafia, people from the slums, children from poor families, and spies are never trusted. Leaders are taught to only use these three kinds but never actually trust them, never befriend them, and to never ever let them out of their sight until their very last day on earth. They are considered dangerous because they're easily wavered, they're easily hypnotised by money that whomever offers more gets their services.
They have a habit of backstabbing their allies at the first chance they get, but because of how easily they excel in any domain they put them into they became indispensable to the mafia.
"Do what you have to do, young miss." Robert said, his eyes assuring her that he's agreeing with whatever punishment she intend to bestow on him.
Emma leaned into his ear once again, and whispered so that nobody hears. "Bitter verzeih mir." (Please forgive me)
Robert nodded at her while smiling so lightly that you wouldn't notice unless you're so close to him.
Emma knew he wasn't one to betray Papa for a bunch of money, everyone in the Family did actually. They all knew he was eternally grateful for Papa.
He was a great doctor, one could say he was the best in whole Europe. He has his own hospital with some underground levels that specialises in treating cases that need to be off the records like the mafia's, as long as the Family doesn't want them dead.
He also made sure that his hospital never chase those who have no means to pay the fees away, his hospital was a place that all people had rights in treatment despite how rich or poor they are. He was very compassionate and loyal.
However and despite how every mafia wanted his services that some of them would offer him triple what his hospital gains in a year and a lot of other things that would make his great-grandchildren live like kings, he never once budged. Having money was never that much of a great deal for him.

Just as Emma was about to start his punishment the door was slammed open, and a panting man came in. "They've found the Vipers' boss, they're bringing him in." He told Emma, still panting a bit.
Emma nodded at him before turning to Müller. "Take care of him." She said motioning to Robert.
Müller's phone vibrated in his pocket before he answered, he fished it out to see what was it then he looked up. "A.L." he called out for Emma just before she exited the door.
"Yes?" She stopped and turned to looked at him.
"A pardon order was just issued." He informed.
"To whom?" She asked.
"Robert." He replied.
She looked at him for awhile before averting her gaze to the doc, then finally settled it on one of the surveillance cameras that was in the far end on the right corner of the room. She spent sometime looking at it. "Untie him, and escort him to his room to refresh." She ordered the guards still looking at it, then she turned to Müller smirking.
She had a hunch the doc was innocent but she knew even if he really was there's nothing she could do to save him. He was guilty of conspiring to kill Papa, and the decisions to forgive were only issued by Papa himself, no other member of the mafia had the right to issue these kinds of orders, not even her. They were to find and terminate those whom found guilty only.
So she had to prove to herself first before all that Robert was innocent then prove it to Papa and to let him issue the order himself. She had to do it all at once so that no one doubts that she's trying to save him, and the interrogation room was the best place she could think of to do just that. Her goal was to have Robert leave without a scratch on him, but she doubted it would work. She anticipated that he would at least have one of his fingers cut before Papa interferes.
Turns out Papa really cares about him after all.
Robert was not just Papa's doctor to her, he was one of the few people that stood beside her in her times of need.
For her, saving him was a duty.

She watched until the guards escorted him out of the door to his room. Robert like all the other mafia's key members, had a room for him inside the main mansion for when he would pull an all nighter, or when he's needed for other purposes.
Emma looked at Müller.
"Let's get this over with."
