Just before Leo was able to get his hands on the little fairy, the little fairy suddenly disappeared in a flash of light.
Leo glanced towards Robin who had her hand raised and a somewhat fearful look upon her face.
"Bring her back Robin." Leo practically growled.
"Mm.. I don't know what she did Leo.. but.. I don't think now is the time... right?" Robin replied cautiously.
Leo continued to glare at Robin ominously for half a minute before he finally relented.
"Fine. I'll beat some sense into her later then." he replied before forcing himself to calm down.
Aside from Robin, Amber, and Lilly, the rest of the group were practically shaking in their shoes at the pressure that Leo had been emitting, so when he finally relaxed, they all gasped for breath and started sweating profusely.
Robin and Amber could withstand it because they too were relatively strong, but Leo was surprised that Lilly seemed wholly undisturbed.
"Huh? What's wrong with you guys? Why are you all shaking like that?" Lilly asked as she looked at her friends.
"What do you mean why are we shaking?! Didn't you feel that pressure on your chest just now?! I could hardly breathe!" Ian yelled back.
"Pressure? What? When? Just now?! Did you guys get to enjoy something while I missed out?!" Lilly asked with her head tilted to the side.
"Enjoy?! Do we look like we were enjoying that?!" Mark cried out.
"Enough with the idle chit chat." Leo interjected before Lilly could reply, "Lets get down to business."
Still annoyed by the fact that Luminara had toyed with him and wasted fifteen minutes, Leo was in no mood to indulge the others.
When Leo saw all of the seats were taken, he was about to force someone to move when Amber stood up and gestured for him to take her place.
He gave her a grateful look before he sat down.
Just before he was about to begin his speech on what was to come, Amber sat down on his lap and leaned up against his shoulder making sure that she didn't obstruct his line of sight with the others.
Leo ignored the gasps and hushed whispers of the others as he wrapped his arms around Amber's waist, interlocking his fingers together in the front.
Enjoying the warmth of Amber's body resting against his, Leo began his little speech.
"Alright, so here's the quick and dirty of what is to come.
And yes, before you ask, I know what is going to happen thanks to my class.
'How does that work?!' is what you want to ask I'm sure, but we are short on time, and I don't want to have to repeat myself over and over.
So, keep your questions to the end and I will answer anything you want to ask then.
Alright, let's get too it.
Two major things are about to happen.
Firstly, as the voice illuded too, we have yet to truly experience the whole 'modelled after a game' part of their plan.
If you have half a brain then you've realized that although the animals are getting stronger and more aggressive, there isn't much in the way of a goal or an objective to this whole thing.
Well, that's where Earth's Rebirth comes into play.
The gods will introduce new races, countless new monsters, and even more enemies into the world.
And before you ask how or why the gods are doing this; I have no fucking clue.
They are sadistic pieces of shit? Hard to say.
What I do know is that the entire landscape of our world will go through a transformation.
Cities will appear out of thin air, filled to the brim with all sorts of races.
Whether they are friend or foe, will be up to us as well as them to decide.
They will be real people created by the gods to introduce some variety to our world.
'Oh how is that apocalyptic for humanity then? I don't see anything wrong with that?' you may want to ask.
You're both correct but incorrect at the same time.
Some races will assist humanity, some will not.
Some will strive to conquer us, enslave us, or destroy us while some will extend a helping hand and help us to survive.
The number of races that seek to rule this world will far outweigh the number of races that seek to lend us a helping hand.
Some of the new cities will be controlled by humans that the gods created to assist us but they are few in number and will be losing ground constantly to the other races who wish to conquer us.
Sounds like a shit starting point for our race, yes?
I agree. But it is what it is and their ain't shit we can do about it but get stronger and push back those who wish to destroy us.
Just as the hostile races can conquer our cities, we too can conquer cities that are controlled by them and take them for ourselves.
That is if we're strong enough to do so.
Unfortunately, that won't be possible for quite a while so cast away any dreams of becoming King or Lord of a city.
And then the monsters.
Monsters will carve out habitats and conquer territory of their own.
Unlike the intelligent races that can be communicated with, the monsters only thoughts are those of survival.
Some of the traditional monsters you have heard about from games, such as goblins and orcs, will create 'societies' of their own.
If they are allowed to fester and grow, they will become an enemy even more dangerous than an invading army.
'But Leo, can't goblins and orcs in traditional games be considered intelligent?' you want to ask.
Again, you are correct and incorrect.
They are intelligent, to a degree, but they cannot be reasoned with no matter what one may try.
They live to fight, to grow, and to conquer.
That is it.
Of course, not all monsters will be humanoid, some will be monsters in the truest sense.
Wolves with the ability to conjure storms on a calm day, bears who can shatter the ground with a swipe of their paws, dragons who can burn a city to the ground with their fire breathe, and on and on the list goes.
I can tell that the lot of you are sufficiently terrified at this point, but the second point may offer some reprieve.
The second major difference between the world and now will be loot.
The new monsters and races will drop loot for us when they die.
I doubt any of you have realized it at this point, but in your system menu, the Equipment category is grayed out.
That's because nothing we humans have created, at this point, can be classified as equipment by the systems standards.
That will change tonight.
The dead bodies of your enemies will be 'lootable'.
A screen will appear in your view that will show everything that can be withdrawn from the corpse and moved to your inventory.
'Leo, I don't understand! How does that work?!' you want to ask.
Fuck if I know. The gods created the system and I'm just telling you how it works, alright?
Now, I know none of you newbies have a class and aren't likely to be close to one, so you're basically fucked without the help of someone like Robin, Amber, or I.
As a result of that, I will make an exception this one time and assist the lot of you in reaching level 10 and obtaining your class.
Now, with all of that said, does anyone have any questions?"
Aside from Amber who had fallen asleep in Leo's embrace, the rest of the group instantly started firing off question after question.
Leo raised his hands up in front of them and gestured for them to calm down before he turned directly to his left and pointed at Robin.
"Robin, you are first. We have an hour, so I'll get to everyone one at a time."
-----
Too much of an info dump? I wanted to elaborate on the changes that were coming all at once so that it didn't get dragged out over a bunch of chapters and people were confused.
I'm sure the WPC group may question the.. authenticity of the apocalyptic nature of the story since I want to introduce a game like world while trying to express the destruction of humanity at the same time but I hope I've done enough to blend the two.
