Chapter 4 - God exists, and so does "death"

When I opened my eyes once again, I saw that I was in a hospital bed with such clothes on that is a hospital gown. I had drips attached to my hands which forcefully I ripped off. Instant regret, it hurt like hell as I bled lightly after which I found a piece of cotton to die it down. The room was natural like any hospital room so I found the dress I was wearing before and they smelt really bad with me staying in the jail and whatnot so I decided not to wear them and just went out of the room with the hospital gown I was wearing. Outside I found Wilbert waiting for me in new clothes on which he looked like he was a being formal but he wasn't. as he met my eyes he woke up from his chair and said "good for you mate, you woke up. Most don't really wake up from interplanar travel. Oh well, I'll take you to a dresser and get you a new pair of them so I don't have to travel with a guy who seems homeless." As he said that he literally pulled my hand with such force as we went outside the hospital, my brain took a moment to set aside the pain still waiting since the interplanar travel to just admire the beauty. The land I was standing on, had to be the most beautiful place in existence. The place seemed like a hill station with mountains expanding as far as the eyes can see but I didn't have enough time to adore it so I went along with Wilbert who picked me a pair of a denim shirt and a cotton pant to go with it which was of course a very bad combo but who cares as long as we have a piece of cloth on us. Next, he said "now we gotta go and meet the Pantheon of the gods of 'Dimortalis'.It's a play on words and we're still trying to figure something better than that. They will explain to you our existence and who we protect." When he said that I heaved a sigh of relief as someone would finally be telling why I'm here. Then I noticed the only high rise building for miles. I looked around 360degrees but it was the only building touching the sky so I assumed that that's where the pantheon was so that's where we went. The building looked plain enough from the outside but from the inside it looked entirely different. The walls were each decorated with a multibillion worth painting each not normal a tall and moving as if they were alive which made me curious to the brim, others were decorated with weapons some of which I could recognize but others I didn't even knew existed. Each door was tightly closed as if it were one of those doors you needed a key card for. Then there were doors that emitted an aura that made me wanna cower in some corner of the room. Then we finally reached a room, which excluded an aura so powerful I would've not wanted to go in and thrown a tantrum like a child but I steeled up my mentality and went in only to find an array of 8 seats in a U-shape and only 3 were filled. The room was filled with various weapons, antiquities and painting. A girl with pink hair who looked like she could pick up a bazooka from under the table, a guy with a gazes o sharp he would've cut me with it and a child of about 17 were sitting. I wasn't shocked at all as they seemed to expect me. I greeted first and learnt quite a lot. First, I am actually a reincarnate as in I was an incarnate even before I entered Immortalis. The girl's name was apparently poppy an incarnate of the Norse god Odin. The other guy was Jax, an incarnate of the Persian Ahura-Mazda and the kid was Zach the incarnate of the Greek god Zeus. You'd think they'd radiate great power to crush me to my feet but they treated me with hospitality hence they could control their powers. Being the incarnates of the king of the gods from various mythology this pantheon was supposedly made to rule. But as I was explaining my life, journey and whatnot, I heard a sound like a whistle. I said get on the ground as a missile quite literally hit the top of the building but it stood tall with a force barrier blocking the missile. Then a few more came our way as I could hear the whistling and the 5of us including Wilbert got out of the building with a bunch of other people. The force field had broken as did the top of the building with fire glazing the skies in an orange color. A helicopter was flying in the air from which 3 men jumped down with almost no pain from such a height and they bought a missile with them which literally threw me off as flew face first to the ground tasting dirt and so did I lose my consciousness which I didn't appreciate exactly when I was getting attacked. I could hear screams and so did hear a lot of rumbling and lightning. The air felt powerful even If I couldn't get up. When I got my shit together, I woke up to poppy flying past me and hitting the wall beside me. I ran near her; she had lost her left hand which would've made me puke but I held it in and I tied her hand tightly as much as possible so minimize the blood loss. She held my hand tightly as she said "give Wilbert." As her hand loosened from my hand and so did the warmth from her body. I checked her pulse and backed up. She had none. The guy who had killed her walked up to me. He wore a full black on black with not even a single noticeable color other than that. I could feel him radiating an aura of death like he could kill me any moment. Behind him I saw Wilbert who had light shining all around his body like as he held a huge bow and shot a bow which created a hole in the guy's heart as he fell in front of me. Then Wilbert dropped his bow and ran towards me or to be exact, to Poppy. I couldn't help but feel responsible for her dying. I saw Wilbert screaming and crying but he collected himself withing a few minutes. He carried her on her back and took her back in the building which was not burning anymore. The other two that had jumped from the helicopter were also taken care of by Jax and Zach as the night swayed with a few losses into the mist.
